The Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York City, colloquially "the Met", is the largest art museum in the Western Hemisphere and one of New York City’s most beloved destinations. Its permanent collection contains over two million works, divided among 17 curatorial departments. How to get there: Take the uptown 6 train to the 77th Street stop and walk a few blocks northwest to the museum, or the 4 ,5 trains to the 86th Street stop and walk a few blocks southwest to the museum.
