Watching the swans by Lake Geneva still needs the help of fellow Chinese travelers to get great shots

Transiting through Geneva, I took the chance to explore this Swiss city I hadn’t visited before, planning a relaxed half-day tour. Luckily, the weather was great with clear skies, and temperatures just above 10°C combined with warm sunshine made it very comfortable. How to spend half a day? Here’s a local’s recommended route 🗺️ 🇨🇭 If you don’t have much time, head straight to the city center’s Old Town. It’s full of historic buildings and sloped cobblestone streets, with a small alley adorned with Swiss flags. Around there, you’ll find many galleries, art exhibitions, cafes, and watch workshops. The classical charm of Geneva, the watchmaking capital, is everywhere—perfect for a casual city walk. 🛍️ Then stroll along Rue de Rive shopping street towards Lake Geneva, passing by various international luxury department stores and exquisite souvenir shops. 🦢 When you reach the Molard pier by the lake, you’ll see a group of swans and birds “gathering” on the shore, and you can also catch a distant view of the Jet d’Eau (though it was out of service the day I visited XD). I asked strangers by the lake to take photos for me, but none were in focus. Fortunately, I later met some Air China flight attendants who helped me take some satisfying tourist photos 📸. ⛴️ I highly recommend taking a ride on the distinctive little yellow ferry boats on the lake! If you’re staying at a hotel in Geneva, you can ask the front desk for a free city transport card, which covers the yellow boats and other transport. If you don’t want to walk too far, try the Molard–Pâquis route, get off near the Ritz-Carlton on the opposite shore, and then slowly walk back across the bridge. ⛲️ Since I had already passed by the Broken Chair and the United Nations on the way to the city, I didn’t feel it was worth making a special stop there, so I spent most of my time by the lake. Sunbathing, feeling the breeze, and wandering around freely allowed me to fully immerse myself in Geneva’s relaxed and peaceful atmosphere～
