Semporna, a dynamic town driven by tourism

I arrived at Semporna by bus from Lahad Datu and stayed there for 3 days while getting info about the driving paradises of Mabul and Sipadan. The city is very contrast. You have fishing and local villages coexisting with the businesses catering to tourism and diving. For sure, Semporna is the land base for exploring Sipadan and other islands off the coast, but the city itself has a something to offer while preparing yourself for the action or while waiting for dissolved nitrogen to release from your body. Price is quite inflated here but still within reasonable range. Apart from the waterfront, you can visit the floating village. I suggest you get help from a local in visiting there so as you understand it better and do it with respect. #semporna #gatewaytosipadan
