If you are looking for the most authentic place in Seoul, Euljiro is the place to be. It is full of the 20th century's vibe. The beauty is that you get to be lucky enough to stop by classic restaurants in random alleys. Nongga Sundaeguk is one of them, and I am confident to say that this place sells the most authentic Korean soul food among the most authentic spots in Eulgiro. We ordered Osori Gamtoo and Sundae Jeongol. First of all, Osori Gamtoo is the stomach part of a pig. What distinguishes it from that of other places is the texture. If it is too cooked, it tends to be extremely chewy. It had just the right texture. You dip it in either salted oil or salted shrimp. It was such a fantastic appetizer. Modeum Jeongol was the bomb. The pot was full of meat and Korean sausage. It was so compact in taste; sesame leaf in the soup added even more savor to it. It even had glass noodles in it. Even though the stew was red, it was not that spicy; it was very thick instead. The stew and meats were just perfect with soju. The store has the old 90's vibe in general. It is full of regulars drinking soju and having quality time.
