Explore the Ancient Ruins of the Northern Qi Dynasty at Nuwa Palace in Handan

|||✅ Nuwa Palace in Handan, Hebei is the largest and oldest ancient building complex in China dedicated to the worship of the ancient goddess Nuwa. It is also a national 5A-level scenic area. 🌟 The palace is a bit far from downtown Handan, so I took a regular train (green train) from Handan to Lucheng early in the morning, got off at Shexian, and then took a taxi to the scenic area. 🌟 Upon entering the scenic area, you can see the entire palace seemingly suspended on the cliff (similar to the Hanging Temple in Shanxi), which is very magnificent. Nuwa Pavilion is the main building, with a total of four floors. You can climb up layer by layer, and when you reach the top floor, you can overlook the distant mountains and lakes. 📍 Nine chains tightly connect the palace to the mountain, which is very magical. If you go around to the back of the palace, you can see the thick chains, and many red ribbons for blessings are tied to them. 📍 Many ancient relics from the Northern Qi period are preserved here. The Buddhist statues inside and outside the Cangu Cave and Yanguang Cave grottoes are severely damaged. 📍 What amazed me the most was the cliff inscriptions here, especially the densely carved ones on the cliff behind Nuwa Pavilion. These cliff inscriptions, which were first carved during the Tianbao period of the Northern Qi Dynasty, are very well preserved to this day, which is indeed rare. ✅ There is also a Northern Qi Stone Carving Exhibition Hall at the foot of the mountain, which is worth visiting. The incense here is very prosperous, and you can pray for blessings or children. 🚌 Transportation: 1️⃣ Take a regular train from Handan Railway Station to Lucheng and get off at Shexian, then take a taxi to the scenic area. 2️⃣ There is bus 812 from downtown Handan to Shexian. 3️⃣ Self-driving, there is a parking lot in the scenic area. 📍 Ticket: CNY 70 📍 Cable car: CNY 40 for one way, CNY 70 for round trip. I took the cable car up and walked down the mountain.
