Suzhou's top autumn attraction, Tianping Mountain's colorful maple leaves.

➡️ I just came back from Suzhou's autumn tour, and my first stop was Tianping Mountain, one of China's four famous maple viewing spots. ➡️ What I like most about viewing maple leaves at Tianping Mountain is that you don't have to climb the mountain, unlike Beijing's Fragrant Hills, where the maple leaves are beautiful, but the climb is exhausting. ➡️ The maple viewing route at Tianping Mountain Scenic Area is all at the foot of the mountain, with fewer red leaves as you go up. After visiting the site, I divided the scenic area into two main areas: the maple viewing area at the foot of the mountain, and the climbing area with strange rocks and clear springs, which is accessed through a small gate in the middle of the scenic area. I followed the scenic guide map and walked the entire maple viewing route (see the red line in the picture), and didn't go climbing because I don't like it. ➡️ I think the Yubei Nan Pavilion, hidden in the ancient maple forest, is very exquisite, and the maple trees around it are 402 years old. The Shijing Pond area is the most photogenic, with a winding bridge that adds a touch of liveliness, and white geese like to stay in the pond. ➡️ The maple trees at Tianping Mountain are actually sweetgum trees, which have "three-lobed" leaves, while maple trees have "five-lobed" leaves. The maple trees were first brought back and planted by Fan Yunlin, the 17th grandson of Fan Zhongyan, during the Ming Dynasty's Wanli period, and have a history of over 400 years. These maple trees are known as "the best red maples in the world" and are famous for their long history. ➡️ I also visited the Fan Zhongyan Memorial Hall, Fan Wenzheng Temple, Baiyun Temple, and Tianping Villa, which added a rich cultural atmosphere to Tianping Mountain. 🌈 Practical Information Address: Tianping Mountain Scenic Area, Wuzhong District, Suzhou Tickets: CNY 30 (can be booked on Trip.com, I booked the earliest entry ticket, 7:00 am, very few people, easy to take photos) Time: The maple viewing route takes more than 2.5 hours, and I needed an additional 1.5 hours for aerial photography.
