Porcelain House, also known as China Porcelain House or Yuebao House, is an ancient mansion that, thanks to the efforts of a wealthy connoisseur of beauty and antique porcelain collector Zhang Lianzhi, has become a real gem in Tianjin, China. For many years, the Chinese businessman has been collecting his luxurious collection. One day he realized that only a select circle of people could not admire such beauty and decided to decorate an old house with accumulated wealth, which would become a unique exhibition of antique Chinese porcelain, open to the public. It took Zhang Liangzhi five years to refurbish and decorate the old French-style building with thousands of porcelain and tons of natural crystals. The history of the mansion has more than 100 years. At the end of the Qing dynasty (1644-1911), the building was used as the central ministry of finance, and then, after the proclamation of the People's Republic of China in 1949, it was converted into a bank. After some time, the bank changed its location, and the house remained abandoned for many years. In September 2002, a new stage in the life of the beautiful building began - businessman Zhang Lianzhi bought it for 1 million yuan ($160,000). What started as a timid attempt to spruce up an old house a little has turned into an ambitious art project. Five years after the purchase - on September 2, 2007 - in the Heping district in Tianjin, the Porcelain House opened its doors to visitors. Today, generously decorated with antique porcelain, the building is the most attractive building in the city and one of its most popular attractions.
