🚢 A must-do for me in Egypt~ Following in the footsteps of Agatha Christie 👣 to explore the cities of Aswan and Luxor ❤️❤️ My itinerary was a non-classic 6 days 5 nights Aswan + cruise trip, which allowed me to visit all the places I wanted while being comfortable and saving money 💰~ 📝Day 1 ✈️ Arrived in Aswan in the evening, checked into the hotel. Aswan is so hot and beautiful! 📝Day 2 🛕 📍 Left at 6:30 AM by private car to Abu Simbel, about 7 hours round trip by car, 2 hours visiting. We arrived around 10:30 AM, avoiding the peak times of tour groups, so it wasn’t crowded~ 📍 At 4 PM, we were taken to the Old Cataract Hotel. After dinner, it was just the right time for sunset, so beautiful!!! I really love sunrises and sunsets~ 📝Day 3 🚢 📍 Watched the sunrise at the hotel, then after breakfast headed to check in to the cruise 📍 After lunch on the cruise, a guide took us to visit the Unfinished Obelisk ➡️ Aswan High Dam ➡️ Philae Temple. After the tour, we returned to the cruise for dinner, and the cruise set sail at night 📝Day 4 🚢 📍 After breakfast on the cruise, at 7:30 AM visited Kom Ombo Temple ➡️ set sail at 9 AM ➡️ lunch on the cruise ➡️ at 2 PM visited Horus Temple (Edfu Temple) ➡️ at 4 PM set sail to Esna Lock ➡️ afternoon tea on the deck ➡️ dinner on the cruise ➡️ cruise party 📝Day 5 🚢 📍 After breakfast on the cruise, at 7:30 AM visited the Valley of the Kings ➡️ Hatshepsut Temple ➡️ Colossi of Memnon ➡️ lunch on the cruise ➡️ at 2:30 PM visited Karnak Temple ➡️ Luxor Temple ➡️ dinner on the cruise ➡️ belly dance show 📝Day 6 🎈 📍 At 4:30 AM, the booked travel agency picked us up for a hot air balloon ride, returned at 8 AM, had breakfast, checked out, and the cruise trip ended~ We originally planned to stroll around Luxor, but our flight was canceled, so we rescheduled to an afternoon flight and went to explore Cairo instead~ The cruise I took was the Legacy by Jaz Company. There was a little incident: I originally booked the Crown Prince, but when I arrived at the dock that day, the ship was not there. The staff explained it was under maintenance, so they upgraded me to another, more expensive ship from the same company, the Legacy (the price difference was about 160🔪). I booked 4 days 3 nights, 💰853.9🔪 (1 cabin, 2 people), full board + sightseeing (including meals, entrance tickets, transportation, and a full-time guide. If you only choose full board without the onboard sightseeing, the price would be almost half). The food was delicious, and the environment and service were very good~ A wonderful Nile River cruise experience~

After flying from Cairo to Aswan, Egypt, we boarded a cruise ship at the pier for a three-day Nile River cruise. 🗓Itinerary: Aswan → Kom Po → Edfu → Luxor 👍Highly Recommended: Abu Simbel Temples, Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple Complex 🌟Highlights: The waterway travel is hassle-free; no need to change hotels or pack luggage each day; we can see most of the classic sights and even explore places inaccessible by land. All meals and overnight stays are on the ship. Meals are buffet style, and the chef tries to offer a variety of dishes for each meal. Having mentally prepared myself for Egyptian food to be unpalatable, my expectations were low, but I found it quite palatable. A leisurely cruise along the Nile was also a very interesting experience. The boat even had a terrace on the top deck where you could enjoy coffee and drinks, and a small swimming pool. The Pyramids of Giza — A World Wonder Truly Worth Seeing Standing on the Giza Plateau for the first time and watching the three pyramids slowly emerge from the desert was a breathtaking experience that's hard to put into words. The massive scale of the Great Pyramid of Khufu is simply unbelievable; every giant stone is a testament to human wisdom and perseverance from over 4,000 years ago. Approaching the Great Sphinx and watching it gaze silently into the distance, as if guarding this land for millennia, makes it easy to imagine the most glorious eras of the ancient Egyptian dynasties. Cruising slowly on a riverboat, watching date palms, rural villages, mosques, and the desert alternating along the banks, I completely understood why the ancient Egyptian civilization was born along this river. My favorite experience was riding a traditional Felucca. With no motor noise, just the gentle breeze catching the sail, the river was as calm as a mirror. Watching the sun slowly set and paint the entire Nile a brilliant gold was a truly healing moment. Abu Simbel Temples — The Most Unforgettable Stop The Abu Simbel Temples were definitely one of the most anticipated stops of the entire trip. The four colossal statues of Ramesses II standing in front of the temple are incredibly majestic, making you feel exceptionally small standing beneath them. What's even more impressive is that the entire temple was completely relocated to save it from the construction of the Aswan High Dam. Hearing the guide recount this history made me realize that this temple isn't just an ancient ruin, but a monumental milestone in world cultural preservation. Temples That Get More Spectacular by the Minute Sailing along the Nile to Kom Ombo, Edfu, and Luxor, each temple has its own distinct character. After returning, I just want to say—there are some pitfalls no one tells you about. 🏜️First, the most honest feelings The city is dirty, messy, and chaotic. The streets are noisy, traffic is a mess, and the roads feel like Guangdong in the 1990s. But strangely, there are many armed police, no theft or robbery, and it feels much safer than Europe. Inside and outside the hotels are two different worlds. Outside is dusty, but inside feels like a different place. Most locals are friendly when they see Asian faces, smiling and greeting you or asking for photos—just don’t be in tourist spots. 💸About scammers and “one dollar” Vendors around the pyramids shout “one dollar.” If you don’t want to buy, just shake your head and ignore them. Reject horse carriage sales, unsolicited guides, and free gifts—they all want money afterward. Drivers sometimes don’t give change unless you ask. Prices are often inflated, so bargain down to one-third. Never let your homestay host book anything for you. Key advice for traveling with kids: join a tour group❗ Attractions are spread out, scammers are everywhere, and managing kids while avoiding traps is exhausting. Reliable tours cost 8,000–9,000 CNY per person, kids half price, with all 5-star hotels and pools included—kids love it. Each destination was fantastic, and our guide, Khaled, provided excellent insights. The cost of the tour was quite reasonable, offering great value for money. With a small, friendly group, we enjoyed a pleasant and engaging atmosphere throughout. Though primarily composed of couples in their late 50s to early 70s, this tour would also be perfect for families. I wholeheartedly recommend this company for anyone planning a trip.

We loved this experience. Our guide Mohamed Shaban was particularly outstanding! He was very knowledgeable, provided detailed facts, and was always attentive to our needs. He also made great efforts to organize the best possible itinerary to avoid crowds. I highly recommend this guide! We wish he could have accompanied us to Cairo. Additionally, the agency was very attentive and available throughout the trip. The cruise we got was the Princess Amira, and it was completely renovated inside. The only thing I would critique is the visit to the Edfu temple, which is scheduled at dawn and is very brief (less than an hour). This detail wasn’t clear on the itinerary. In our case, we decided to cancel it and replace it with a visit to the Luxor temple, although it was disappointing to miss it. Cruises tend to follow the same routes and schedules, which means the initial agreed-upon itinerary can often change.

Two-night, three-day cruise in early May, starting from Aswan to Esna aboard a dahabiya. With only 10 tourists on a boat designed for many more, the experience felt very personal. The dahabiya was clean, well-equipped, featuring inviting outdoor areas like pergolas, sun loungers, and low sofas, as well as cabins with small terraces overlooking the Nile. The sail was raised twice—a captivating sight, though the wind required support for navigation. The sightseeing program was well-balanced and never tiring: Kom Ombo with its museum of mummified crocodiles, a morning stroll through ancient sandstone quarries with a historical Egyptian chapel, the temple of Edfu (reached via a charming carriage ride), a farm along the Nile's banks, and finally the temple of Esna with its striking ceiling. Between visits, the gentle cruising offered breathtaking views—palm trees, dunes, wetlands, fields, and animals. Plenty of time to watch the river pass by. The food was excellent throughout, with varied and hearty meals. The crew was friendly, helpful, and professional. Guide Nashat spoke excellent French, had deep knowledge of temple history and Egyptian society, and made the tours engaging through an interactive approach. He was accommodating, attentive, and never rushed. An outstanding experience—highly recommended!

I was dragged out of bed early to take a horse-drawn carriage to see the temple. Since we disembarked from the cruise ship, it meant we'd be competing with a huge number of other tour groups for time. So, before I was even fully awake, I witnessed a completely incomprehensible argument (though they were doing it for our sake!). We spent half an hour waiting at the temple entrance to get tickets. The temple itself was absolutely packed. The most fun part was the midday activity on the cruise ship. Near the locks, vendors from boats would come up selling scarves, shawls, and cardigans. They'd throw things at us from below—yes, it was like a catch game! If we liked something, we'd take it and haggle over the price, then throw our wallets back into the ones we didn't like. Of course, mistakes happen sometimes. Cost, cost! I must say, I personally absolutely love this kind of haggling!! Maintaining a very friendly bargaining distance, they didn't try to pressure you or pressure you. So, the sense of accomplishment when I finally got a scarf at a rock-bottom price was greater than ever. Karnak Temple is the largest temple complex, with many giant columns still retaining their original colors. The main entrance is the same one found in the Egyptian section of Universal Studios. By the time I arrived at Luxor Temple, it was already dark. To be honest, seeing three temples in one day was a bit of a visual fatigue, and with so many people, I couldn't stay long. But even so, I still managed to take some photos!

So cool! · ----------- 〈How to get there〉 I think the tour will probably go by horse-drawn carriage 🐎 There's definitely a set number of carriages contracted, and they're linked by number, so there's no need to fight over them, but people were fighting over them anyway... lol Our guide was a very gentlemanly and calm person ✨ He didn't say "Me! Me!" and when we got off, he put his hand on the ceiling to avoid hitting it. He didn't overtake us either.
