A safari journey on wheels
#newyearadventure
We are really pleased to be here, and it's encouraging to see how the animals are cared for and maintained.
It's a fantastic safari adventure experience.
Visit an animal kingdom kindergarten to get up close and personal with the infant animals and see the cutest pandas in action.
A safari journey on wheels is also a lot of fun and interesting!
Take note, it is more affordable to purchase a ticket in advance through Trip.com than it is at the gate.
For a view, you might also ride a cable car.

Huangpu Park & Outdoor Swimming
Huangpu Park is one of the oldest parks in Huangpu CBD area. It was originally opened in 1999, but over the past 1.5 years has been under going major renovations.
🏞The park has a large grassy area surrounding a man-made lake in the centre. Many people like to come here in the evening and weekend to exercise and relax.
🐟The lake is the jewel of the park, when the sun is out in force - you can see wonderful sunsets here! (Unfortunately the day I took my camera, I did not!). You’ll find many kids trying to catch fish and other wild waterlife.
💪At the rear of the park, you will also find an outdoor gym area for free use. I even saw one guy brought his own weights 😅
🏊♀️Surprisingly there is also an outdoor swimming pool - Huangpu Park Swimming Paradise. Although inside the park, it is a separate area and requires payment to enter the swimming area - check it out to find out more.
The Huangpu Park is also home of being a central point for emergencies such as helicopter landings, water supply and so on.
What I love about this park is it’s family feeling - whilst in the middle of busy part of town.
Check it out for nice afternoon walk
📍Huangpu East Road, Pearl Delta River Area
🕐Official open time is 7am - 9pm (although that’s not always the case!)
💰Cost: It’s a free park - with free toilet facilities. (Bikes are not permitted in the park)

Donghu Park(东湖公园)| Chilled Park
Donghu Park, one of the four artificial lakes in Guangzhou, is a nice place for visit or a walk in the afternoon. The lake is really big and divides the park into different parts: small pavilion with beautiful flowers(where you can also enjoy a nice view of Canton Tower and its reflection), exercise area, a small island(there is a tea& coffee place, but now under re-construction), kayak, zigzag bridge etc.
It's always my first choice to have a walk in the afternoon and sit on the bench for a while gazing at the small island or read a book, and then head to Guigang market for pig blood soup, and look for some local street food. Quite a relaxing and satisfying afternoon.
🚇 Exit A or B1, Donghu Station, Line 6
🎫 Free entrance with green code

Commemorate the father of modern China
The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is a large building in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, built a few years after the death of Sun Yat-sen, founder and president of the Republic of China. It's an excellent modern example of Lingnan (southern Chinese) architecture.
Getting There - The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is easily accessed from Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Station and Yuexiu Park Station on metro line 2.
Attractions - Access to the grounds is free but a ticket (¥10) is required to enter the building, where there's an exhibition about the life and times of Dr Sun Yat-sen. Concerts are also sometimes held in the main hall.
From behind the memorial hall, enter Yuexiu Park and climb several hundred stairs to reach another Sun Yat-sen memorial, a huge stone obelisk. It's usually possible to climb to the viewing platform of this tower, though not to the top.
Why go - The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is a popular spot for photos, especially with the statue of the venerable doctor, and the grounds are a welcome green space in the otherwise densely packed Yuexiu District. It's a good place to learn more about the life and legacy of this important man in the development of modern China.

Lotus Mountain or Lianhuashan, 莲花山, is the site of an ancient quarry in Panyu, Guangzhou.
Stone was cut from the imposing cliffs here for centuries but it is now a garden.
There is also a Qing Dynasty fort, as this was a strategic point guarding the Pearl River and the approach to Guangzhou; ultimately the detachment here failed to stop the British from sailing up river and sacking the capital. The fort includes a stone labyrinth that was used for troop training.
With the Qing guards gone, the river is now watched over by a huge golden statue of Guanyin.
Finally there's a pagoda which you can climb to the top of, unlike most others in Guangzhou.
Lianhuashan is a peaceful place to spend a day in Guangzhou.

Haizhu Wetland Park in Guangzhou
Guangzhou Haizhu National Wetland Park is located at No. 168 Xinjiao Middle Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou. It is the abbreviation of National Wetland Park.
This is such a beautiful venue for a family outing in Guangzhou. It is called the China National Wetland Park, a 2 minute walk from Line 3 Datang Road metro station.
There are many places to sit and have a drink as well as small Souvenir shops.
We brought a picnic blanket and good and some guards shared we were not allowed to sit on the grass, but you can sit on the pavement or shop chairs that are found all over.
There are plenty of birds, flowers and explanations of the fauna and flora found inside.
We went over Qing Ming Festival (April 2024) and the park entrance was FREE. I am not sure if that is the case always though. We spent 4 hours with the children who played ball games and enjoyed walking around.
There were no skateboards, scooters, Ninebots or dogs inside so I don’t think they are allowed. There is a child friendly train for ¥30 rmb that takes you around the park which is really big.
Enjoy the peace and tranquility if this beautiful and serene views in this lovely venue for a family outing.

Best half day local plan for Yuexiu Park
Located in Yuexiu District, Yuexiu Park is the largest park in downtown Guangzhou.
It is a perfect combination of cultural relics and ecological tourism, reputed for its pretty water and hills as well as cultural relics. The main places of interest include the stone sculpture of the Five Rams and the Zhenhai Tower.
There are five major gates to the park, namely the Main Gate, East, West, North, and South Gates. There are many buses at each gate with metro line 2 arriving at the main gate. In my opinion a half day at the park is all you need and I have the perfect plan for you.
Go into the park from the entrance close to the Five Rams Statue Parking Lot from there go to Tomb of King Shaowu and His Liegemen, which is very close to the Korean Garden. After following the path to The Rectangular Fort and Sailors Kiosk. From there to Guangfu Kiosk, then Zhenhai Tower. Pass outside the stadium of Yuexiu Hill, take photos at the Wu Ting Fang Monument, Sun Yat-sen Monument anx Ball Shaped Water Tower. Finally, then go up the small hill and to the Five Rams Statue the sympol of Guangzhou. (Don't worry, there are signs everywhere at the park, and they will guide you pretty easily.)
What is more, Yuexiu Park also provides an amusement park, swimming pool, gymnasium, restaurants, souvenir shops, museum, and art museum besides plant and flower viewing area.
Recommended Visiting Hours: About 1~3 hours
Opening Hours: 06:00~22:00 every day
Tickets: Free for the park, but some scenic spots inside the park need charge
Address: No. 988 Jiefang North Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China
