First time to Guildford Surrey in the UK, although it’s just a small town, the scene is beautiful. The town is full of peaceful atmosphere.

My husband and I took a sunset Steam Dreams Pullman dining journey tonight, and it was truly the best experience ever; we'd give more than 5 stars if we could. The staff were phenomenal, treating us like VIPs from the moment we boarded. They took time to chat between courses, showing exceptional professionalism. The atmosphere was laid-back, and the food was simply delicious—worth every penny spent on tickets and extra drinks. This was our second Steam Dreams trip, and we’re already planning to do it again!

Before our trip, we were informed via email that due to the hot weather, we would be pulled by a diesel train instead of a steam engine as per Network Rail's requirements. This was very disappointing, though not Steam Dreams' fault. Later, we also learned that our train couldn't stop at Paignton station due to a fire caused by arsonists, so we had to continue to Kingswear for Dartmouth. Again, not SD's fault, but still disappointing. We were seated in H carriage, which, fortunately, had air conditioning as part of a trial. It worked excellently. The seats were very comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally attentive. They frequently offered tea and coffee, and while we had brought our own food and drinks, my husband tried the coffee and found it tasty—even though he's very particular. The snack boxes provided for both journeys were excellent, and the cream tea on the return trip was delightful, perfectly portioned and not overly filling. The train ran punctually both ways. Though it was an 18-hour day, the staff remained consistently helpful and polite. While this trip was a costly treat, it was worth it. The heritage train was beautiful, and we would definitely recommend Steam Dreams.

A wonderful trip, just as we’d hoped. The welcome at Waterloo Station was a bit tentative, but the service from the entire staff afterward was simply fantastic! The assistance, food, and comfort of traveling on a historic train were all superb. The atmosphere and their dedication to making us feel at ease were remarkable. We traveled to Kingswear to visit Greenway, Agatha Christie’s estate. The train beautifully captured the era and atmosphere of the journey. After getting off at Paignton, we visited Greenway and returned by ferry to Dartmouth. The destinations, including Kingswear with its own charming station, were absolutely picturesque. The day flew by and was incredibly enjoyable. Traveling on a steam locomotive, coupled outside London, with excellent company and great food made it unforgettable. From champagne and appetizers to main courses, it was England at its finest.

The carriages were spotless, elegantly furnished, and the seating was incredibly comfortable. The staff were friendly, courteous, and always ready to help. This trip, from Waterloo to Paignton and Kingswear with Steam Dreams, stands out as the best I've taken with them so far. From beginning to end, we were looked after exceptionally well in the Pullman Class by courteous and attentive staff. They handled everything seamlessly, ensuring no issues arose throughout the journey. The food was phenomenal, starting with champagne on arrival and continuing with breakfast, pastries, a four-course evening meal, and petit fours. Tea and coffee were plentiful, alongside a £21 alcohol allowance. The carriage's decor was stunning, with well-arranged tables and impeccable food service. Our two attendants were fantastic, smiling all day long despite their early 3:00 AM start. Even when we left the train at 9:45 PM, they remained cheerful and dedicated. The carriage manager was great at keeping us informed about the day’s schedule, leaving no questions unanswered. Travelers could board the train at Waterloo or other designated stations, with a vintage diesel engine until Taunton, where the steam engine took over. Initially, the ticket seemed expensive, but the experience proved it to be worth every penny—truly excellent value. At Paignton, passengers had the option to visit either Paignton or Kingswear. We opted for Kingswear and enjoyed a free ferry ride to Dartmouth, with over three hours to explore after showing our ticket. The heritage line between Paignton and Kingswear added a special touch. Overall, it was a long but remarkable day, one that I wholeheartedly recommend to others.
