Guimar travel guide and discussion

The Pyramids of Güímar rank among Tenerife's most captivating attractions. Situated in the Güímar municipality, these six well-preserved stepped pyramids are constructed from stacked lava stones without the use of mortar. Norwegian researcher Thor Heyerdahl observed connections to other pyramid cultures globally, though current belief suggests they date back to the 19th century. Their exact purpose remains unresolved. Nonetheless, even without definitive scientific explanations of their origins and function, the pyramids are undeniably impressive.

This place has a wonderful atmosphere created by the owners, who genuinely pay attention to every detail. It also serves as their home, while offering four guest rooms. There’s an excellent pool, ample space, and a truly peaceful ambiance. Being far from anything nearby means you’ll need a car to visit the town, but this isolation is what makes the environment so relaxing. We enjoyed swimming in the pool after sunset in total privacy, and I could get up early to work outside at a table with stunning views. However, the WiFi coverage could be better, particularly outdoors—adding repeaters would be an easy fix. Another downside is the lack of air conditioning. While temperatures are bearable for much of the year, AC would help with controlling humidity. Leaving windows open in the evenings and at night is a trade-off, as it leads to dealing with mosquitoes.

A wonderful and interesting experience. We visited on the last day of our trip since it’s very close to the southern airport. You need to book the free visit on the website. I had reserved for 3:30 PM, but we arrived over an hour early. Despite this, a lovely girl—whose name I unfortunately don’t remember—was super kind and welcomed us, showing us everything there was to see. It was truly fascinating! Well done!

Absolutely nothing to criticize: this place is perfect. Nestled in the heart of a stunning park, the "finca" is peaceful, features a pool, a high-quality yet affordable restaurant, and very pleasant accommodations. The staff is both efficient and friendly. There’s ample parking, and a bus stop right at the entrance of the property.

I visited the Aloe Vera farm in Arona with my sister. The weather wasn’t very warm, but we still got to enjoy endless fields of aloe vera. The plants were in bloom, making the scenery even more beautiful. We had a guided tour with a very pleasant and friendly lady who spoke excellent French and English. Being in a small group made the visit even more enjoyable. She explained everything in detail, and we learned so much. We also had the chance to taste aloe vera and its flower, which was quite a surprising experience! It was truly an amazing visit. Then we stopped by the shop… and couldn’t resist 😄
