We came upon a Greek Orthodox Church while in Newcastle, the Holy Apostles in Hamilton. It's a beautiful little church, with so much art!⛪ There was a combination of Western and Byzantine art. but more Byzantine which is pleasing to us given our love for Byzantine iconography! Not to mention the chandeliers look absolutely incredible, especially the big one in the middle of the church✨ One of the church attendants told us that in neighbouring Adamstown was a Serbian Orthodox Church, so we set off to have a look at that one as well! Over the weekend mummy took us to Newcastle, and the first thing we wish to share with you viewers is our beautiful night at the Mansion - a beautiful Airbnb in the suburb of Hamilton, a short walk from the train station. When you arrive, you're greeted by a beautiful Victorian building with a fountain out on the front garden⛲ We saw amazing chandeliers as we walked through the front door. One of the chandeliers was red! We're not sure if this was on purpose, but we think it might just be because the red lights were flickering like candles🕯️ Our room was gorgeous and so well equipped! It was closed when I visited, but there were cute wall arts nearby. ・Newcastle Memorial Walk A healing spot where you can see the ocean, cityscape, and sky all at once. 🔥 ・Nobbys Beach ・Newcastle Beach The water is crystal clear, and walking along the beach is delightful. Time your visit to catch the sunset for a magical experience. ☕️Cafes ・Goldbergs Coffee House 137 Darby St, Cooks Hill NSW 2300 A cafe with a bar-like atmosphere. The staff were kind, making it a relaxing spot. I only visited one cafe, but the area had several options to explore and find your favorite. ・Biggs Coffee Hamilton 1A Beaumont St, Hamilton NSW 2303 A cafe right in front of Hamilton Station! The place was lively with locals, and since it was Christmas 🎄, Santa was there too! I got to take photos and even Polaroid pictures with Santa, which remain a cherished memory. The coffee was, of course, delicious! ・Moor Newcastle East🍔 33 Hunter St, Newcastle NSW 2300 I wanted brunch, and since it was a holiday, most places were closed. This was one of the few open spots! I ordered a burger, which was filling and had great portions. 🏠Recommended Accommodation ・Sydney Junction Hotel Located right in front of Hamilton Station. They kindly stored my luggage even before check-in. Though the showers were shared, the room was spacious and satisfying. 💡Tips During holidays, some cafes and museums may be closed, so it's essential to check your schedule in advance. The trip offered beautiful ocean views, peaceful beach walks, and a relaxing time in nature. It wasn’t crowded, providing a calm atmosphere. Just over 2 hours from Sydney, it’s perfect for a short getaway!
