Great Access and Facilities for Judo at Commonwealth Games
I attended the Judo event at the SEC during the 2026 Commonwealth Games, and here’s my experience:
· Getting There
The venue is situated in a fantastic location next to the River Clyde. My friend and I walked from the city center, which was roughly a mile and a half away. Accessing the SEC from the riverside was straightforward, and navigating inside to find the section for Judo was equally simple.
· Facilities
There were plenty of food and drink options available, though prices were steep, as expected. The toilets were clean, and the queues moved quickly, especially post-event.
Overall, the SEC provided everything we needed, making it a good experience overall.

The Clyde River: Glasgow's Historic and Cultural Heart
The Clyde River embodies the historical, economic, and cultural soul of Glasgow. There's a local saying that goes, "Glasgow made the Clyde, and the Clyde made Glasgow." While it's not a river for swimming, the pedestrian path along its banks offers the perfect opportunity to admire the city's main architectural landmarks, bridging its industrial past and modernity. I recommend this walk to experience Glasgow from a unique perspective.

Lovely Views of the River Clyde
I’ve stayed twice at the Golden Jubilee Hotel, and the River Clyde runs right by the hotel and hospital grounds. It’s always a delightful sight to watch this iconic river flowing by. I’ve heard there are river tours available from Glasgow—I’ll need to look into going on one sometime.

Chatelherault Country Park
Chatelherault Country Park is a popular country park in Hamilton, Scotland. They have a big markets every Saturday and Sunday. Not only that, sometimes there will be new stand every week so you won’t get bored of it. There are lots of trails in the park so you won’t feel bored and crowded. Prepare your hiking boots as the ground will be muddy if it’s raining. Grab a burger and go for a walk!
