Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh is a bustling, up and coming mega city that has so much to offer! With an international airport, it is easy to fly into and once you’re there the transport network is extensive and quick.
With a year round warm climate, it’s perfect for those that like the heat. During the multiple times that I’ve been there, it feels like the city is constantly evolving and developing into a more well-connected and international city. Some top things to do whilst you’re there include visiting the war museum and taking a trip to Cu Chi tunnels. Accommodation is cheap but you can also find luxury hotels, if you wish. The food is varied and delicious! The airport also serves as a great gateway to travel across Vietnam and other international destinations #urbanexplorer #vietnam #2023travelwish

Reply 1990s style Cafe in Saigon
🥤 Cô Ba Cafe - Đồng Khởi 🥤
Address: No. 4-6, Dong Khoi Street, Dist. 1
The cafe shop is on 2nd floor, accessible by a short alley and rickety woody stairs, and capturing the attention with the Old Saigon artwork on the wall.
It offers an air-conditioned interior as well as an external leafy corner balcony with a lovely day and night view.
They offer various selection of beverages, meals and typical Vietnamese food on the menu. However, I think the beverage was just so so.
The view is the most appealing aspect of this place to me.
💲 Avg. Price per Person: 75k for beverage

I'm caught in this Japanese brunch🤭
🍴Conservo - Japanese Breads & Café🍴
📍Address: 13 Ly Tu Trong Street, Ben Nghe Ward, Dist. 1
💫Ambiance: Cozy restaurant for resting with city view, however, it is not spacious to accommodate many people.
Beside the brunch, drinks and breads are available for take-out.
🌟Highlight: Their toasts are highly recommended. We had three courses, all of which were delicious. The avocado was fresh, and the fruit toast was creamy without being overpowering.
💲Avg. Price per Person: VND 140k for both foods and drinks
Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (for brunch)

Saigon, between her river and skyscrapers...
Ho Chi Minh City's grand Saigon River is a river located in southern Vietnam that rises near Phum Daung in southeastern Cambodia, flows south and south-southeast for about 225 kilometres and empties into the Soai Rap, which in its turn empties into the South China Sea some 20 kilometres northeast of the Mekong Delta.
Landmark 81 is the tallest building in Vietnam, the second tallest building in Southeast Asia, and the 18th tallest building in the world.
Meanwhile Bitexco Financial Tower with 68 floors above ground and three basements, the building has a height of 262.5 metres, making it the second tallest building in the city, fourth tallest in Vietnam, and the 412th tallest in the world.
Between the grand river and skyscrapers, it's indeed an odd but unique mixture. Making it a dream comes true for most avid photographers.

Up and above, amazing Saigon
Amazing 360 degree skyline view of the city of Saigon. See the city from above and admire the traditional buildings with the new coming together. Good for families or just you and your partner. The surrounding also have many restaurants and local life happening.
Immerse yourself to how the tower was erected and also spend a little time in the Ao Dai Museum all at L49. #urbanexplorer #tripblazers #vietnam #saigon #hochiminhcity #saigonskydeck

My 1-day escape
My very first time to experience the water bus (Bach Dang station to Binh An station around 15mins)... super hot weather and the breeze really helped when sitting on the bus.
It was a day as normal as others, but pretty lessening crowd because they've travelled to other cities for holidays.
The time of being quiet, living slowly, tasting the foods, drinking a cup of coffee, wandering around is definitely healing and enjoyable.
***
Water bus ticket: VND 15,000/person/way (from Bach Dang station to Binh An station)
F&B and Restaurants:
1, The Barista in Dist.2, no.80, street 15, An Phu
A cakes and coffee shop, small but pretty and quiet at noon
2, Ebisu Japanese in Thu Duc, no.66, Song Hanh st., An Phu
The steamed eggs with crab sauce is recommended (overall 7/10 grade in my opinion)
3, Spice Temple in Takashimaya Saigon Centre, Dist. 1
Pad Thai and soup were okay (I think it may be 8/10)

Vinhomes Central Park and Landmark 81
Vinhomes central park is probably my favorite place in Ho Chi Minh City. This is a very beautiful park with great views of the Saigon River and the tallest skyscraper in Southeast Asia called Landmark 81.
Despite the fact that there are only a lot of people here, it is still much calmer here than in the center of Ho Chi Minh City, and the views of the river from the observation decks of the park are simply mesmerizing 😍

The Cafe Apartment - totally unusual building
On the main walking street of Ho Chi Minh City is a completely unusual building. Once upon a time it was an ordinary apartment building, but now the residents of this building have been resettled, and the building itself has been turned into a huge beehive, where each apartment looks like a honeycomb, which houses one of the hundreds of cafes.
Another amazing feature of this place is the paid elevator, for which you will pay 3000 VND (about 0.15 USD)

Wonderful Sai Gon central post office
The central post office is one of the most beautiful buildings in Ho Chi Minh City. It was built in 1891 when Vietnam was part of French Indochina. It counts with Gothic, Renaissance and French influences.
Now the post office building is one of the main tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh City. Right on the spot, you can buy a beautiful postcard and send it to your friends or yourself to keep the memory of this place alive.

Cu Chi Tunnels Tour
Another tour I joined while in Ho Chi Minh was the Cu Chi Tunnels tour. Again I had Jen as my tour guide and she was incredibly full of knowledge. We had the chance to go inside the tunnels as well, I made it to 40m inside before leaving, while some people continued to 100m. The tunnels area is vast and the sound of gun fire can be heard throughout. To shoot in the gun range, 600.000k Dong will be necessary for 10 bullets.
The tunnels are really interesting to visit, going inside also is insightful.

The tallest building in Southeast Asia
The height of the Landmark 81 building in Ho Chi Minh City is 461.2 meters, making it the tallest building in Southeast Asia and the fourteenth tallest in the world.
This huge skyscraper can be seen from almost anywhere in Ho Chi Minh City, but I strongly advise you to see it during a water excursion along the Saigon River. Well, after sunset, a beautiful backlight turns on on the building.

Mi Casa Cafe Coffee and Tea
Mi Casa Cafe is a nice and peaceful little escape from the hustle, bustle, and madness of central Saigon. Situated a stone’s throw from the riverside, it’s perfect for a bite to eat and an iced drink during your explorations. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and the place is friendly for dogs too, which is quite rare outside of the expat hubs of D2 and D7. Excellent!

The river surrounds have been kept clean and no sight of the slums anymore. A good stroll or walk along the river banks is very safe and an easy flat surface. Nice garden beds and flowers around with plenty of seats looking onto the river under trees if you need to rest. No shops seen sop bring a drink in case you need one. On this side you can take the commercial building scape / skyline of buildings across the road.
