The setting was beautiful, the coffee was good and I loved the whole Japanese slow coffee vibe. But honestly… would I travel across the city just for it again? Probably not. 😂 Maybe that’s the problem with famous travel spots. Sometimes we enjoy the idea of being there more than the actual experience. #hotdiscussions

Even in Tokyo, you can have a budget-friendly vacation without depriving yourself of anything. 💰 The biggest expense in Tokyo is usually accommodation. ☝️BUT! You don't necessarily have to book a place right in the city center. Consider looking into the suburbs—sometimes it's just a 20-30 minute subway ride, but the price difference is huge. 1️⃣ Accommodation: KAIKIN apartments in the Edogawa ward, near Kasai subway station. 7 nights cost me 52,810 yen (26,405 rubles). From here on, if you need to convert to rubles, just divide by 2 (the exchange rate is 0.5 according to the Central Bank for May 2026). These were clean, decently-sized apartments for Tokyo at this price point. Self check-in (the entry PIN is sent in advance) makes it super convenient. Plus, it’s only a 20-minute subway ride to downtown. 2️⃣ Subway — 4,560 yen. A ride from Kasai station to downtown using an ICOCA transport card (which I originally bought in Osaka) was 240 yen. 3️⃣ Bus to Haneda Airport — 1,200 yen. The bus conveniently departs right from Kasai station, and the ride only takes 20-40 minutes. 4️⃣ Breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and plenty of snacks — around 39,200 yen. I mostly grabbed my breakfasts at a konbini (convenience store) the night before to save time. Sandwiches, onigiri, pastries, yogurts, and ready-made meals ran about 400-600 yen per day. For lunches and dinners, I hit up ramen shops, cafes, and food courts. 🍜 A large bowl of excellent ramen was 1,000-1,500 yen. A food court lunch cost around 1,000-1,800 yen. Dining at an izakaya was a bit pricier—about 2,500-3,500 yen including a glass of beer. 🍷 A bottle of wine at a konbini was 700-1,500 yen. ☕ A cappuccino or latte at a coffee shop cost roughly 500-600 yen. 5️⃣ Shopping. Clothes and shoes — around 30,000 yen. Completely unnecessary, but such a delightful splurge! 🤗 🎬 Total: 127,770 yen. Everyone has their own priorities, and depending on your budget and preferences, you could easily spend more or less than this amount. By the way, my ticket 🚊 for the Kyoto-Tokyo Shinkansen cost 15,820 yen (I paid an extra 600 yen for a seat with the best view 🗻 of Mount Fuji, and it absolutely delivered!). ✈️ My flight from Tokyo to Moscow cost 55,884 yen (27,942 rubles).

Universal Studios Japan is definitely a popular choice to top the list of Osaka fun attractions! The transportation is very convenient, whether by subway or self-drive there are clear guidelines and reasonably charged parking, to the site and a perfect tour and multilingual services, comfortable environment, reasonable distribution of tourists. The happiest thing is that the admission experience is excellent, I feel the staff is very active in driving the atmosphere, especially the interaction with the children is super invested, the children receive themed stickers, the atmosphere is full of joy, absolutely unforgettable 👍🏻. Opened over 10 years ago in Toyosu, near the team☆lab exhibition space, MIFA Football Park's concept is to be dedicated to communication, music and football but it's mainly known and used as a soccer practice space. It's in a very open space, rare for Japan! The last picture is the view from the field. The field can be used under bad weather. As pictured, there is a cafe with a small terrace space and a stage. They serve full meals and snacks, as well as protein shakes. You can rent everything you need: shoes and socks, full outfit, towels... Hi, guys! To start this post, I believe we all have one category of travel spending where the usual internal debate about whether something is worth the price simply doesn't happen. The decision is made before the question is even fully formed. The answer is always yes, and the only real variable is how much yes is going to cost this time. For some travelers, it's accommodation, while for others, it's the food. However, for me, that category is Attractions. Specifically: paying for the experience I came specifically to have, without standing outside the entrance doing cost calculations about whether it’s worth the price. So, guys, personally, when I have traveled thousands of miles to get somewhere, I have already made the largest financial commitment of the entire trip before I even land. The flights, the accommodation, the time taken from ordinary life, and the accumulated cost of simply being in a different country—all of that is already spent. In that context, the entrance fee to the national park, the observation deck, or the cultural experience that was the main reason for the trip represents a relatively small marginal cost attached to an already significant investment. For me, I think that choosing not to pay that marginal cost, to stand outside something I traveled a long way specifically to see and decide that the entrance fee is too high, does not actually save money in any meaningful way. It undermines the return on an investment I have already made. It’s like buying a concert ticket, traveling to the venue, and then deciding to listen from the parking lot because the beer inside is expensive. Moreover, there's a memory aspect I think about quite seriously. When I return from a trip, I don’t dwell on the money I spent on individual attractions. I honestly can’t remember the cost of most of them weeks after returning. What I remember with complete clarity and warmth is the experience itself, like standing at a viewpoint that made me stop in awe because the landscape was more breathtaking than I had prepared myself for. That memory, that feeling, is what the trip was really all about. No amount of money saved by skipping an entrance fee could produce anything comparable to make up for its absence. You get 1 carry-on included, but no free checked baggage, so it’s definitely more of a light-packer type of deal. Now the reason it’s so cheap: self-transfer in Osaka both ways. Sapporo surprised me by how capable it was to be liked. It seemed a city that had many things to do, yet never too populated for me not to relax. I began at Odori Park and walked through the mile-long green space in the middle of town. I then went up the Sapporo TV Tower for a city view. The subsequent hour or so I spent getting lost in Susukino, neon signs, tiny restaurants and the smell of grilled food making me ravenously hungry in no time at all. I dove into a little place for a bowl of miso ramen and truly, it was the best dinner I could have had. The following day, I made a trip to Hokkaido Shrine. It was quite a peaceful tranquil wooded approach particularly when contrasted with the hustle and bustle of the main town centre. Sapporo Clock Tower was another little piece of history that i had time for as i was exploring the central area so it was easy to pop in and visit. Mt. Moiwa was the best, I think, especially around sunset. The trip up was nice, but the view over Sapporo at night was spectacular. I also spent an afternoon at Shiroi Koibito Park, which was borderline whimsical and fully awesome #sapporo #japan
