But my favorite part is definitely the Albanian Riviera. Bosnia and Herzegovina Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of those countries that has a completely different atmosphere from the typical European destinations. Sarajevo has such an interesting mix of cultures and history, and walking around the old town almost feels like being somewhere between Europe and the Middle East. Then there’s Mostar, with its famous Old Bridge and beautiful old streets along the river. What I loved most was how much you could experience without needing a huge budget. The food is good, portions are generous, and everyday travel costs can still be surprisingly reasonable. Final Thoughts Albania, North Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina might not be the first countries people think about when planning a European trip, but that’s exactly what makes them interesting. Finally, I posed at the iconic hand sculpture in Ksamil, located right on Ksamil Beach. It’s a very picturesque and popular attraction, so there was quite a long queue—we waited around 30 minutes for our turn. Everyone was taking amazing photos there, and it was definitely worth the wait. The sculpture is right on the beach, making it a must-visit photo spot in Ksamil. Tip: Make sure to plan enough time for photos here. Unless you go early in the morning or later in the evening, it gets very crowded during the summer. Waiting times can easily go over an hour, so it’s best to plan your visit accordingly if you want a photo at the hand sculpture.

Albania | Ksamil When you travel between April- August. It is very very crowded and hot so keep it in mind. In general Ksamil and Saranda are really beautiful and worth it. However, you need to keep a few things in mind: · Carry cash almost everywhere only cash is used except supermarkets but it can cost you more on international cards. There is extra fee on ATMs as well depending on the amount you take out. · When you book the hotel or Airbnb just ask the owner if they can arrange airport transfers for you because if you do it otherwise it will cost more for example when I arrived I just booked the taxi and he took 1600 whereas normally the charges are 1200 lek · Food is not that great I found it hard and if you are looking for halal food make sure they have halal sign on their board or something because I figured that many people will verbally say it is halal or you find it when you write halal food on google maps but their place doesn’t specifically say it is halal on their name board. I asked one place and they said halal but I asked for authentication to which they said but its not pork so for some the definition of halal was it is not pork so halal which is deceiving. So make sure you are satisfied · It’s not as cheap as people advertise it to be honestly so keep budget of at least 5-600 euro per person

Personally, I think the plane ticket is expensive, but the food and accommodation costs aren't. It's totally worth the ticket price. The accommodations are good, the food is delicious. We ate well and stayed well 😂 I recommend it as a road trip, as public transportation isn't very convenient. Day 4 | Gjirokastër → Sarandë, a coastal town Head south towards the coastline! Arrive in the coastal city of Sarandë and switch to "sea-gazing mode." In the evening, take a walk along the seaside promenade, enjoy the gentle sea breeze, and have an affordable seafood feast. Rest up for a day of exploring coastal attractions tomorrow. Day 5 | Sarandë: A day of water activities In the morning, head straight to the Blue Eye Spring💙, a natural underground spring. A deep, clear blue pool of water resembles the eye of the earth, surrounded by forests. The spring water is cool and transparent, perfect for free photos. In the afternoon, visit Ksamil Beach, the legendary "jelly sea." The water transitions from light green to sapphire blue, with several mini islands near the shore. You can take a boat trip for snorkeling, walk on the fine white sand, and immerse yourself in relaxing by the sea. Day 6 | Butrint Archaeological Site + slow time by the sea Visit the Butrint Archaeological Site🏺, a World Heritage site. Food at the Ksamil waterfront is cheap: a grilled squid plate for €7 and a 500ml beer for €2.50. Mistake: I didn't bring water shoes; the entry into the sea is sharp shells and rocks. Another error: visiting in July—the Albanian Riviera is heaving with domestic tourists. If you want the same turquoise water without the chaos, drive 15 km north to Lukova Beach. Worth it? The boat ride is a fun splurge, but the real beauty is the Ionian color, which you can enjoy for free from the shore.
