In ancient times, it was a bustling hub of boats and merchants. Today, old blue-brick houses line the banks, and the weathered steps of the ancient pier stand quietly by the water, bearing the cultural heritage of water transport on the western shores of Dongting Lake. With sprawling fields and the quietly flowing Lishui River, the area remains untouched and rustic, with very few tourists. We skipped the conventional sightseeing routes and chose to explore the village's crisscrossing alleys and riverside paths on our own. Some of the waterfront trails were rugged and slippery, and initially, many team members were hesitant.
