It is an elegant town on the River Thames in Buckinghamshire, England, known for its riverside trails, historic bridge, and boutique shops. After having lunch at The Marlow Donkey, here are some attractions to check out: Marlow Suspension Bridge, the iconic landmark of Marlow. Built in 1832, it's a fantastic spot for a walk and taking photos, offering sweeping views of the River Thames, the town, and All Saints Church in the distance. All Saints Church stands on a small hill right next to the suspension bridge and is the highlight of the Marlow skyline. Built in the 19th century, the church features a towering spire about 50 meters high. The interior is peaceful and solemn, making it perfect for a quiet visit. Marlow Lock and riverside trail, one of the historic locks on the River Thames, is a great vantage point to watch boats passing through the gates. If you’re looking for the ultimate British riverside experience, Marlow is it. We spent a full day here and it’s the perfect mix of "slow living" by the Thames and high-end boutique energy. The Highlights: Riverside Vibes: You can’t miss the Marlow Bridge. Fun fact: it’s the prototype for the famous Chain Bridge in Budapest! Walking across it gives you the best views of All Saints Church and the rowers on the water. Higginson Park: Perfect for a post-brunch stroll. We stopped to see the Sir Steve Redgrave statue (a local legend) and watched the boats navigate Marlow Lock. It’s incredibly peaceful, even in the crisper months. The Food (The Real Star): Marlow is basically Tom Kerridge territory. We grabbed a burger at The Coach—Michelin-starred but totally unpretentious. If you’re more of a brunch person, Megan’s at Liston Court has a Mediterranean vibe that makes you feel like you’ve left the UK for an hour. Shopping: The High Street is dangerous for your wallet! Lots of independent boutiques like Sansom Reed and Sahara that you won't find in your typical city center. Pro-Tips for Your Visit: Parking: It’s the town’s only "Achilles' heel." The car parks fill up fast, especially on weekends. Arrive before 10:30 AM or take the train—the station is a short, easy walk from the center. Walking: If you have the energy, follow the Thames Path toward Cookham for a bit. The scenery is pure postcard material. Verdict: A must-visit if you love great food, historic architecture, and watching swans while pretending you live in a Georgian manor. We’ll definitely be back!

Families love the large play park by the river, complete with a café so adults can relax while the kids explore. Popular places to eat include The Ivy Marlow Garden, Giggling Squid, and local favourites like The Oarsman. Higginson Park and the Thames Path offer peaceful walking routes that make Marlow feel like the perfect escape, whether you are visiting briefly or staying for the whole afternoon. Oxford Oxford is a city packed with history, culture, and striking architecture. Its famous landmarks such as the Radcliffe Camera, Christ Church College, and the Bodleian Library make it feel like stepping into another era. Visitors can explore world-class museums like the Ashmolean or the Pitt Rivers, wander through the iconic Covered Market, or take a relaxing punt along the river. For shopping, the Westgate Centre offers a huge range of brands, restaurants, and rooftop views, while the surrounding streets are dotted with small independent shops and cafés. A great place to go if you just want to take a moment to relax by the river, browse the shops or go for a long walk via the river towards Henley. Always things going on. There is also a lovely cafe and park for the children, with a ca park and local amenities nearby. A great place to go to spot wildlife and rowers. Things in the shops can be slightly dearer than in other places, but the quality of what you get is so much better. Would highly recommend coming to visit Marlow.
