#easytravelpost Erzeer (耳泽尔 / local Yi pronunciation variants) is a lesser-known alpine tarn in the Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture highlands, reached from the Mianning–Yele forest road spur or via the Xide–Mianning back route depending on season. I treated it as a side trip after Mohai: 4WD from the Yele ranger post 14 km up a logging track to 3,100 m, then 2 km walk through rhododendron scrub (May–June is the bloom—pink-purple Rhododendron aganniphum waist-high) into a moss gully that feeds the lake. The lake is small, 200 m across, glacial-green, ringed by dwarf willow and lichen rock. No booth, no fee, no signal—carry 200 RMB cash for the ranger tea stop and the occasional Yi herder who'll sell you fried potatoes (10 RMB) at the track end. I wore B1 shoes and the moss gully soaked them in 10 min; gaiters would have saved the day. Daytime 14°C, night at 3,100 m dropped to -2°C even in June—my 0°C bag was borderline. Mistake: I filtered lake water directly and got a mild gut cramp—treat every highland pond, the rhododendron leaf litter makes it tannic anyway. Another: I drove the logging track in a sedan after a June drizzle and high-centered on a log; 4WD or walk up from the 2,800 m parking. Would you pair Erzeer with Mohai as a 2-night highland loop, or keep Erzeer a pure day-walk from the track end?

Jiuzhaigou is not the kind of place you want to “just wing it.” It takes effort to get there. So once you arrive, your time inside the park should be used well. The biggest question is not only: “How beautiful is Jiuzhaigou?” The better planning question is: “How do I move through Jiuzhaigou smoothly without wasting the best part of the day?” This guide helps first-timers decide whether to plan half day, full day or 2 days, which scenery to prioritise, what can be shortened, and how to pace the route more realistically. 🌊 Quick answer Half day: possible, but selective best only for a highlights taste Full day: best for most first-timers the best balance of coverage and practicality 2 days: best for slower pace, photography, family comfort and weather buffer If Jiuzhaigou is a major reason for your Sichuan trip, one full day is the minimum sweet spot. If scenery, comfort or photography matters a lot, 2 days will feel better. Half day is possible, but it is a compromise. 🗺️ Understand Jiuzhaigou’s route first Do not plan Jiuzhaigou as random pins. The scenic area is easier to understand as a Y-shaped route: Rize Valley 日则沟 classic lake and waterfall highlights Zechawa Valley 则查洼沟 Long Lake 长海 and Five-Color Pond 五彩池 Shuzheng Valley 树正沟 · ower-valley lakes, villages and exit-side scenery Nuorilang 诺日朗 important central transfer / rest logic area The basic idea is: go deep first use shuttle links for longer gaps walk the most worthwhile sections return toward Nuorilang for lunch / rest logic finish with selected lower-valley stops if time and energy allow Do not try to walk everything. Do not stop too long everywhere early. And do not treat every lake as equal. ⭐ Must-see first-timer highlights Use these Chinese names inside the park because they are useful for signs, maps and route references. Top priority: Five Flower Lake 五花海 Pearl Shoal 珍珠滩 Pearl Shoal Waterfall 珍珠滩瀑布 Nuorilang Waterfall 诺日朗瀑布 Long Lake 长海 Five-Color Pond 五彩池 Strong if time allows: Mirror Lake 镜海 Rhinoceros Lake 犀牛海 Shuzheng Lakes 树正群海 Tiger Lake 老虎海 Reed Lake 芦苇海 The mistake is giving every stop equal time. If your time is limited, protect the highest-payoff scenery first. ⏳ What can be shortened if time is tight? Shorten first: too many similar lake pauses · ong photo stops at every viewpoint Primeval Forest 原始森林 if time is limited Seasonal Lakes 季节海 if water level / season is not ideal · ower-valley stops if energy is low Do not cut too easily: Five Flower Lake 五花海 Pearl Shoal Waterfall 珍珠滩瀑布 Nuorilang Waterfall 诺日朗瀑布 Long Lake 长海 Five-Color Pond 五彩池 Depth beats coverage. A good Jiuzhaigou day is not about saying you stopped everywhere. It is about spending time where the scenery payoff is highest. 🕘 Half day: possible, but limited Half day can work if: your Sichuan route is very tight Jiuzhaigou is a short extension you only want a highlights taste you accept selective sightseeing Half day is not ideal if: this is your main Jiuzhaigou visit scenery is your trip priority you are travelling with slower companions you dislike rushing For a half-day route, do not try to complete the park. A better approach is to focus on the strongest highlights first. Best half-day focus: Rize Valley 日则沟, if shuttle flow allows Target stops: Five Flower Lake 五花海 Pearl Shoal 珍珠滩 Pearl Shoal Waterfall 珍珠滩瀑布 Nuorilang Waterfall 诺日朗瀑布 Add only if time allows: Mirror Lake 镜海 one lower-valley stop on the way out Do not try to complete both upper branches in half day. Half day should be a highlights route, not a “see everything” route. 🕘 Full day: best for most first-timers For most travellers, one full day is the best Jiuzhaigou answer. It gives enough time for the main scenery, but still forces you to pace properly. A realistic full-day flow: Morning: Rize Valley 日则沟 Five Flower Lake 五花海 Pearl Shoal 珍珠滩 Pearl Shoal Waterfall 珍珠滩瀑布 Midday: Nuorilang 诺日朗 area · unch / rest / route reset Afternoon: Zechawa Valley 则查洼沟 Long Lake 长海 Five-Color Pond 五彩池 Late afternoon: selected Shuzheng Valley 树正沟 stops This route gives the best balance of wow-factor, coverage and practicality. 🌿 Morning route: Rize Valley 日则沟 Start with the strongest scenery. Prioritise: Five Flower Lake 五花海 Pearl Shoal 珍珠滩 Pearl Shoal Waterfall 珍珠滩瀑布 Good if conditions are right: Mirror Lake 镜海 best when the water is calm for reflections Shorten if needed: Primeval Forest 原始森林 too many small stops before the main lakes The key is not to spend all your time and energy early. Rize gives the strongest first-timer wow-factor, but you still need time for Zechawa and selected lower-valley stops. 🍱 Midday: lunch and rest logic Do not wait until everyone is tired and hungry. A good lunch / snack plan keeps the full-day route realistic. Best logic: use Nuorilang 诺日朗 as your route reset point take a proper rest before the afternoon branch carry water and simple snacks do not rely on “we will find something later” planning Bring into the park: water bottle · ight snacks power bank tissues / wet wipes small rubbish bag For children or elderly travellers, build in a real pause. Not just a quick photo stop. Hunger and fatigue can easily ruin the second half of the day. 🏔️ Afternoon route: Zechawa Valley 则查洼沟 This branch is best treated as a focused highlight section. Prioritise: Long Lake 长海 Five-Color Pond 五彩池 Watch out for: Seasonal Lakes 季节海 can vary by season do not overcommit if energy is low keep buffer for returning and lower-valley stops The main Zechawa payoff is Long Lake + Five-Color Pond. Do not force a long lingering route here if the day is already moving slowly. 🌲 Late afternoon: Shuzheng Valley 树正沟 Use Shuzheng as a flexible finish. Good choices if time allows: Rhinoceros Lake 犀牛海 Tiger Lake 老虎海 Shuzheng Lakes 树正群海 Shuzheng Waterfall 树正瀑布 Reed Lake 芦苇海 Sparkling Lake 火花海 Shorten this section if: you are tired weather is turning the shuttle queue is slow you already spent longer at Rize / Zechawa Shuzheng can be beautiful, but it should not be the section that destroys your pacing. Treat it as a flexible finish, not a pressure point. ⏱️ How long to stay at key spots? Use these as practical planning ranges, not strict rules. Five Flower Lake 五花海: 30–45 min Pearl Shoal + Pearl Shoal Waterfall 珍珠滩 / 珍珠滩瀑布: 40–60 min Nuorilang Waterfall 诺日朗瀑布: 20–30 min Long Lake 长海: 20–30 min Five-Color Pond 五彩池: 20–30 min Lower-valley lake stops: 15–30 min each Extra buffer across the day: 30–60 min The goal is not to time every minute. The goal is to stop yourself from overspending time too early. 🎒 What to bring into Jiuzhaigou Small things matter in a long scenic day. Bring: water bottle comfortable walking shoes sunscreen umbrella or light rain jacket · ight snacks power bank tissues / wet wipes warm layer if season requires hat / sunglasses if sunny Inside Jiuzhaigou, you will mix shuttle rides, boardwalk walking, photo stops and waiting time. Comfort gear helps you enjoy the scenery instead of just surviving the route. 📸 2 days: best comfort route Two days is not necessary for everyone. But it is the most comfortable option if Jiuzhaigou is a major trip priority. Best for: photography families elderly companions slower travellers weather buffer people who do not want the park to feel like a checklist Suggested 2-day split: Day 1: Rize Valley 日则沟 Five Flower Lake 五花海 Pearl Shoal 珍珠滩 Pearl Shoal Waterfall 珍珠滩瀑布 Nuorilang Waterfall 诺日朗瀑布 optional Mirror Lake 镜海 if conditions are good Day 2: Zechawa Valley 则查洼沟 Long Lake 长海 Five-Color Pond 五彩池 Shuzheng Valley 树正沟 Rhinoceros Lake 犀牛海 Shuzheng Lakes 树正群海 Reed Lake 芦苇海 or Sparkling Lake 火花海 if time allows Two days lets you enjoy Jiuzhaigou instead of rushing through it. 🌦️ Check the day’s route before you start Use this guide as route logic, then adjust to actual park conditions on the day. Before entering, check: current shuttle route open / closed sections weather and visibility crowd level walking path conditions return timing Season logic: rainy days need more buffer winter / cold seasons may affect walking comfort Seasonal Lakes 季节海 may not be equally worthwhile year-round autumn can be beautiful but crowded Route flow may change because of season, weather, crowd control, maintenance or shuttle dispatch. Do not treat any route plan as fixed. Use the structure, then adjust. ⚠️ Common Jiuzhaigou planning mistakes Treating half day like a full experience Not knowing the Y-shaped valley logic Stopping too long everywhere early Underestimating shuttle + walking time Having no lunch / snack plan Trying to add Huanglong without buffer Ignoring family / elderly pacing Not checking seasonal route changes Trying to see every lake equally Leaving the best scenery until everyone is tired The most common problem is trying to do too much with too little time. ✅ My first-timer recommendation Choose half day only if Jiuzhaigou is a limited highlights stop and you already accept the trade-off. Choose full day if this is your first real Jiuzhaigou visit and you want the best default route. Choose 2 days if scenery, comfort, photography, family pacing or weather buffer matters. Short rule: Half day = compromise Full day = best default 2 days = comfort choice If Jiuzhaigou matters to your trip, do not under-plan the time. You travelled too far to rush the best scenery. Save this for your Jiuzhaigou trip. Send this to someone planning Chengdu + Jiuzhaigou. Follow for more practical travel cheat sheets. #Jiuzhaigou #Sichuan #ChinaTravel #Chengdu #TravelCheatSheet

Go to Sichuan this May Day! The Daliang Mountains Hide a "No Man's Lake" Where You Can Touch the Stars While Camping "When Western Sichuan is jammed into a parking lot, this lake is still waiting for you." Yele Lake is hidden deep in the Daliang Mountains, at an altitude of 2,600 meters that keeps the noise outside the mountains. The lake surface looks like a sapphire, reflecting the shadows of cattle and sheep grazing. During the May Day holiday, while others are stuck in traffic jams on Zheduo Mountain, you are sitting by the lake drinking coffee, watching Yi grandmothers herding sheep across the meadow. At night, unzip your tent and the stars are so dense they could fall into your cup—this kind of "peace forgotten by the world" is the real vacation. The lake guardian says: "May Day at Yele Lake is reserved for those who can daydream—the lake breeze will blow away your worries, the stars will listen to your whispers. This kind of 'undisturbed happiness' can’t be found anywhere else in Western Sichuan." 🌌 【Must-Do List: Capture the lake and mountain scenery in 2 days】 📍 Yele Lake, Liangshan, Sichuan | Average daily visitors <100 (tested) Live life like a poem at this pace: · Core Experience · Wild Luxury Camping + Leisurely Lake Walk (Recommended ★★★★★) ✅ Camp by the lake: Choose the "Meadow Campsite" on the west shore of the lake. When pitching your tent, you can hear the lake water lapping the shore, and distant snow-capped mountains lie nestled in the clouds. Brew a cup of coffee at noon, sit on a folding chair watching cattle and sheep stroll by, the cowbells "ding-dong" can be heard far away. Occasionally, your phone will have only one bar of signal, which actually brings peace and quiet. ✅ Light hike around the lake: Walk the 3-kilometer lakeside trail (1 hour). Underfoot is soft meadow grass, and along the way, you can pick up pebbles washed ashore by the lake, colored like the silver jewelry of Yi girls. At the lake bay, you’ll encounter a few crooked-neck trees with trunks stretching over the water, perfect for silhouette photos that make you feel like you’ve stepped into "Little Switzerland of Western Sichuan." ✅ Starry sky blast: At 2 a.m., the lake surface glows blue, and the stars hang so low they look like they’re attached to the tent top. Using long exposure on your phone, you can capture stunning "star trails around the lake" photos. If lucky, you might see a shooting star. Yi guides say, "Make a wish on a shooting star, and the mountain gods will hear you." · Advanced Experience · Three-Day Loop Surprises (Recommended ★★★★☆) ✅ E'erze'er Snow Mountain: On the second day, drive 1.5 hours to the foot of the snow mountain. The small lakes on the meadow look like shattered mirrors reflecting the continuous snow peaks. Wear a Yi cloak for photos (rental 20 RMB/day). The red cloak stands out vividly against the green grass. ✅ Guke Desoma Flowers: In May, the alpine rhododendrons bloom into a sea of pink and purple. Walking through the flowers, you might startle a few mountain tits. Hidden in the flower sea are the black tents of Yi herders. Go inside for a cup of butter tea; the grandmother will say in broken Mandarin, "The flowers are beautiful, and so are the people." 📅 【2 Days 1 Night Lazy Route (No Hassle Version)】 Day 1: 8:00 Drive from Chengdu → 13:00 Eat "Ham Baba" in Mianning County (5 RMB each, crispy with a bit of spice) 15:00 Arrive at Yele Lake → Choose campsite and pitch tent (free if you bring your own gear, tent rental 100 RMB/set) 17:00 Hike around the lake + take stunning lake photos 19:00 Yi-style dinner (roast suckling pig + Lian Zha Cai, about 40 RMB per person, more authentic at villagers’ homes) 22:00 Lie in your tent and watch the starry sky Day 2: 7:00 Photograph the morning mist on the lake (looks like milk poured on the lake, dissipates after 1 hour) 9:00 Follow villagers to herd cattle and sheep (1-hour experience, you can pet lambs) 12:00 Pack up campsite and return → 17:00 Arrive in Chengdu 💰 Budget per person: 300 RMB (bring your own tent, includes food and fuel) 🚫 【Pitfall Avoidance Guide: Yi Guide’s Private Tips】 ✅ Don’t get lost on the way: · Drive from Chengdu via "Yaxi Expressway + Provincial Road 215," navigate to "Yele Lake Scenic Area." The last 10 kilometers are gravel roads; regular cars can pass if you drive slowly to avoid scraping the chassis. · Don’t buy "wild honey" halfway! The "Liangshan honey" in Mianning County supermarkets is more reliable, 25 RMB per jin. Real honey will crystallize. ✅ Avoid camping pitfalls: · Choose the west shore campsite! The east shore is windy, the west shore meadow is flat and close to villagers’ homes where you can borrow water and electricity (a small tip is appreciated). · Bring a thin down jacket + sleeping bag (temperature rating -5℃)! It’s only 5℃ by the lake at night. If you get cold and wake up, there’s nowhere to buy clothes. ✅ Don’t waste money on food: · Eating at villagers’ homes is better than "temporary restaurants"! Tell the guide in advance; Yi mothers will prepare chicken ahead. The roast suckling pig is crispy outside and tender inside, and Lian Zha Cai (similar to tofu pudding) helps cut the grease. · Bring your own snacks! There are no convenience stores in the scenic area. Bring some chocolate for energy, and remember to take your trash with you (villagers check; protecting the environment ensures you can come back). ✅ Photo tips: · Take lake reflections before 10 a.m. (when the wind is calm), and shoot backlit cattle and sheep at 5 p.m. (golden light on their fur looks like it’s gilded). · Wear red or white clothes! Against the green grass and blue lake, the color contrast is strong, doubling your chances of great shots. The herder says: "May Day at Yele Lake isn’t for 'playing'—it’s to let you know that mountain winds don’t need tickets, stars don’t need reserved spots. This quiet happiness is the most valuable." Open Trip.com now to book a homestay (plenty of rooms in Mianning County). Leave a comment saying "Yele Lake" and get a "Star Photography Settings Sheet" for free~ This May Day, don’t squeeze into Western Sichuan—come to the Daliang Mountains, let Yele Lake be your mirror, let the Soma flowers be your backdrop, and live your days by the undisturbed lake like a social media post no one else can swipe. 📌 Tip: Bring an empty bottle! Fill it with pebbles from the lake bottom and place it on your desk at home, like bringing the tranquility of Yele Lake back with you~

Note: The lakeside is windy and slippery, so keep a safe distance from the water when shooting; practice leave-no-trace camping and take all trash with you to protect this secret paradise.

🌲 Fantasy moss forest, this place is "not AI" and not abroad either. 📍 Sichuan Province – Mian 宁 City (Xiaoxiangling) Honestly, this is the most beautiful forest I've ever hiked. Before this, I rarely used the phrase "breathtakingly beautiful" for any forest, but here... it truly fits perfectly. · Forest · Lake · Snowy mountains · Sea of mist Everything in one place. But the highlight is... the "moss" that covers everything, like a green carpet from a fairy tale—soft, fluffy, and so delicate. Walking in this forest feels like entering the Himmapan forest. Travel tips: · Take a high-speed train to Mianning, then a taxi to Lingshan (LingShan Temple). The moss forest is near the starting point here. Photo spots: The beginning and middle sections of the trail are filled with moss forests like in the pictures. Most photos are taken around these areas. 🌸 Best time to visit: May – June, when "Azalea flowers" bloom, combining with the moss to create a dreamy scenery. Things to know: · The trail is "continuously steep," not suitable for beginners who have never hiked before. · Some areas are very slippery → wear good anti-slip shoes. · Check the weather beforehand. · It's recommended to have a guide or go with someone experienced. · Download the trail map in advance.

Inspired by "Pegasus 3," the secret wonderland of Western Sichuan is perfect for a family check-in! Here you'll find snow-capped mountains, lakes, tea fields, and primeval forests. In this four-day itinerary, take your kids from the city into the wild, experience camping, tea picking, and hiking, watch the golden sunlight on the mountains, and immerse yourselves in the magnificent landscapes of Western Sichuan. Kids can get close to nature and unleash their true selves. Here’s the guide👇 🚗【Four Days and Three Nights Family Trip Sharing】 Day 1: Departure — The First Smoke over Yele Lake Depart from Chengdu heading south. The scenery outside the window changes from skyscrapers to rolling mountains. The drive is smooth, so kids can enjoy the view and snacks in the car. Arriving at Yele Lake in the afternoon, the light is softest, the lake is blue with snow-capped mountain reflections—super healing. The highlight here is a lakeside family camping BBQ. Roast delicious food with your kids and sit by the lake watching the snowy mountains—this is probably the perfect “poetry and distant places” family moment. Day 2: Tea Mountains — Be a Tea Farmer for a Day on the Ancient Tea Horse Road On the second day, head deep into Kuido Town, a “cloudy heavenly village” hidden in seclusion at over 2,000 meters altitude on the mountainside, home to the world’s highest tea plantations. The most fun part is carrying tea baskets with your kids, becoming little tea farmers, learning the “one bud one leaf” tea picking technique. The faint tea fragrance on your fingertips is a natural scent you won’t find in city office buildings. You can also watch the tea-making process and enjoy a cup of tea you picked yourself—super rewarding. Day 3: Explore the Quiet — Wuxuhai and Moon Lake Today is a relaxed family hiking day and a feast for the eyes. Early morning at Wuxuhai, the lake is as calm as a giant emerald, completely undisturbed. This is the filming location of the primeval forest and lakeside racing scenes in "Pegasus 3." The lake reflects the Twelve Fairy Peaks. Wait with your kids by the lake for the morning mist to clear and take beautiful family photos. The shutter clicks keep coming—each shot is wallpaper-worthy. In the afternoon, hike around Moon Lake. The lakeside meadows are soft, grass underfoot, quiet yaks nearby. Feed the yaks with your kids and enjoy the peaceful lake—relaxing and healing. Day 4: Chase the Light — Golden Sunlight on the Slopes of Jichou Mountain Race Track The last day is the climax of the trip! Drive over Jichou Mountain, the very race track from the movie that makes your palms sweat. The winding mountain road twists like a ribbon around the mountainside. Watch the race track with your kids from the viewing platform and share fun stories from the movie. In the afternoon, head to Gongga. Choose your spot and quietly wait. When the last ray of sunlight crosses the mountains and dyes the southern slope of Gongga Snow Mountain golden, your kids will be amazed, feeling all the effort was worth it. After watching the golden sunlight on the mountain, return home with full memories. · 💡 Family Travel Tips ✅ Western Sichuan is at high altitude. Bring glucose water and oxygen bottles for kids to prevent altitude sickness; prepare thick jackets and windbreakers for big temperature differences between morning and night. ✅ The hikes in the itinerary are all gentle trails without steep slopes, so kids can walk on their own. Bring comfortable sports shoes. ✅ Pack snacks, warm water, and wet wipes for kids. When it comes to healing-style guesthouses in Western Sichuan, "Yunfuli Yunshu" at Yele Lake definitely has a name! It's a 4-hour drive from Chengdu, soaking in private hot springs while watching snowy mountains and lakes, being neighbors with cattle and sheep, and enjoying hot pot under the starry sky… This is not a movie scene, but my real stay experience👇 🌿 The King of Pristine Scenery · Open the window to an unfiltered view of Yele Lake; in the morning, herds of yaks slowly pass by the window, as if living in a scene from "Heidi, Girl of the Alps" · The viewing terrace offers both sunrise golden mountain views and lake reflections, a prime spot where photographers stake out at 5 a.m. · At night, look up to see the Milky Way! The host thoughtfully turns off surrounding lights, delighting starry sky lovers ♨️ Paradise for Private Hot Spring Lovers · Some room types come with their own hot spring pools (recommended: "Garden Hot Spring Room" and "Mountain View Hot Spring Room"), soaking while watching snow melt into the lake · Smart toilets + floor heating + humidifiers make high-altitude nights comfortably cozy · Light-colored decor paired with wooden furniture instantly creates warmth 🍖 Foodie Surprises · Must try the barbecue set! Local pork grilled over charcoal, the sizzling sound of fat is so soothing · The mushroom soup base is made with matsutake mushrooms, so fresh you’ll drink three bowls; the host says all ingredients are collected from the village that day · Pet-friendly! Your furry friends will be very happy here 📸 Photo Guide 1. Hot spring pool shots: Use a drone for an aerial view at dawn, with people tucked in the corner to highlight the extension of the pool and lake 2. Indoor portraits: Change into your favorite outfit, pick a good spot (sofa, bedside, hot spring pool, etc.), and every shot looks like a masterpiece 3. Animal interaction: Herds of cattle and sheep are everywhere on the mountain, lakeside, and roads; wear bright clothes to capture running shots 🚗 Travel Tips · From Chengdu, navigate to "Yunfuli Yunshu · Yele Lake Private Hot Spring Guesthouse"; be careful on the last 30 minutes of winding mountain roads, especially near monkey groups—if you stop, they might jump on your car and peek in asking for food, so stay safe · After October, it’s snow season; bring snow chains; in summer, remember sunscreen and mosquito repellent · The guesthouse can arrange light hikes nearby; the host will share secret spots only locals know Before leaving, write in the guestbook: "If there’s an address in the clouds, it must look like this place" ~ Highly recommended for those wanting to escape the city but worried about altitude sickness; the altitude here is about 2600 meters, personally tested with no headaches!

Sichuan's Little Switzerland~YeLe Lake, Buddha said: Only deep and profound fate Can make us walk the same path over and over again, and go to the same place over and over again YeLe Lake, which allows me to visit the same place twice, is one of them. I accidentally saw YeLe Lake on the Internet a few years ago Indeed, it is a niche attraction that few people know about. It is in a semi-open state You need to book a homestay in the scenic area in advance to enter the scenic area. There are very few homestays, and only one has good conditions I like this semi-open state, which greatly controls the flow of people and will not disturb the lives of the original residents It also enhances the experience of guests staying in the scenic area. The first time I went to YeLe Lake was during the Spring Festival in 2022. When other scenic spots were overcrowded I experienced charter tourism at YeLe Lake (with winter photos) The feeling is different in different seasons, it's worth me to travel a long way to see it. Today I saw the latest news about YeLe Lake, which is limited to 100 people per day You can make an appointment online in advance, and you don't need to book a homestay in the scenic area to enter

Nights in autumn get extremely cold — bring a sleeping bag rated for subzero temperatures. The water source protection zone strictly prohibits open fires and barbecues; use only portable gas stoves and pack out all trash for leave‑no‑trace camping. 🍜Local food and drink guide ▪️Yi lamb soup pot: a must on the plateau, flavorful and warming ▪️Chunky braised pork and sauerkraut potato soup: authentic Yi flavors ▪️Baked potatoes and buckwheat cakes: mountain snacks ❗There are very few lakeside shops. Stock up on snacks and drinking water in Liziping or Shimian county before heading up — prices on the mountain are higher. ⚠️Practical must‑knows❗ 1. Big temperature swings! Comfortable by day, but nights can drop to 5–8°C. Bring a shell jacket and a light down jacket. Strong high‑altitude UV means sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen are essential. 2. Mountain roads have many curves; watch for falling rocks after rain and drive slowly. Mobile signal is weak in parts of the lake area — download offline maps and carry some cash. 3. You may encounter wild monkeys by the roadside. Do not feed them, do not open windows fully, and keep personal items secure to avoid snatching or scratches. 4. Respect reserve rules: swimming in the reservoir is strictly prohibited, no open fires or barbecues, do not trample private herders' pastures, and ask locals before photographing livestock — violators may face penalties. 5. Search for the guesthouse name in your navigation app. If you search only for Yele Lake, navigation may route you to a controlled dam and prevent entry to the main scenic area. You don't have to join the crowded western Sichuan hotspots — come to Yele Lake to see the lake, meadows, sunsets, and starry skies, and quietly feel the freedom of the mountains 🌌
