Gergeti Trinity Church Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
One of must visit wonder in Georgia
Located near to Mount Kazbegi, 2200 meters above sea level the view at the church is magnificent. If you’re planning to visit here for a quick getaway from Tbilisi city, its advisable to take a day tour because they will stop by few other places that considered as must visit in Georgia like Ananuri Fortress and Russia-Georgia Friendship monument. They can also drop you in Gergeti village if you’re planning to stay for few days.
If you keen to drive from Tbilisi it will take around 4 hours but you have to be an expert of driving as the road is full with lorry and sometimes sheep too.
Its worth to stay for few days too in Gergeti village as you can walk around the village, hike to the church and got to enjoy the view more. The road is super bumpy from the base to the church so if you easily get motion sickness bring your motion sickness medicine with you.

Breath-Taking Scenery, Gergeti Church
#georgia #scenery Gergeti Church is located at the top of a mountain. It's kind of a long hike to get there. The hike is a bit difficult at the beginning before you reach the main road, but it's worth the effort. You also have the option to take ride up or down, or both for extra money. There is no entrance fee or any payment needs to be done. I won't advice you to drive all the way up with your car. You can park and take another 4x4 van or hike. Keep traveling and enjoy
Gergeti Trinity Church - Kazbeki
What a view in Georgia! Driving hours from Tbilisi to Kazbeki was incredible and exciting experience. The weather was great and the view was amazing. I stayed in a friendly homestay and found that local people were so kind and nice even though they can speak little English. #stepantsminda #kazbeki #georgia #gergetitrinitychurch #roadtrip

Mt Kazbek Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
After a long, steep climb in 32 degrees, we reached the view point of the glacier below mount Kazbeg. The route is clear and very busy. It can be difficult terrain at times, so walking boots and poles are advised. Climb time from the gergeti church was 2 1/2 hours and 1 1/2 hours descent.
Very well worth the effort for amazing unrivalled views.

Life Travel Checklist: Independent Small Towns from the Former Soviet Union
Kazbek town is world-famous for the Orthodox monk Saint Stephen once established a monastery here. By the 19th century, a very famous writer, Alexander Kazbegi, emerged here. In memory of this celebrity, both the mountain and the town were renamed Kazbegi, but the road signs are still Stepantsminda.
Do you see the church on the distant mountain? It is shrouded in a layer of light smoke, just as Pushkin's poem says, 'Like an ark floating in the sky, it appears and disappears in the rolling mountains.' The perennial snow and the Kazbek peak that appears and disappears in the sea of clouds give the picture a sense of seclusion from the world.
The Holy Trinity Church at an altitude of 2200 meters on Mount Kazbek is said to be the closest place to heaven. It is secluded, independent, and has an attitude of looking down on everything and being indifferent to the world.
Mount Kazbek has a landmark building because of it, and it also has a sense of mystery in the legend because of Mount Kazbek, the place where Prometheus was imprisoned by Zeus after stealing the sacred fire.
The unified price for finding a charter car in the town to go up the mountain to the church is 50 lari. This price is indeed high, but because the snowy mountain road is difficult to walk, so this price does not bargain. In fact, you can also hike up, it is said that the total time is about 2 hours, the scenery along the way is good so you won't feel too tired. But it is more suitable for spring, summer and autumn, winter hiking is not recommended, some sections of the road surface are icy, difficult to walk and dangerous.
Kazbegi / Stepantsminda / Georgia
The view on the pictures says it all without actually in fact me using any words! Forgot about overpriced skiing resorts in Western or Central Europe. Georgia will over even better views for 5 times less in value and similar amenities and services. The local restaurants are good in terms of prices, and severe local and international dishes. You can also taste in every place extremely famous Georgian wine, again for the price you can afford to drink in whole bottles quantities! (and it is also so tasty!!! I recommend personally semi sweet Kindzmarauli.) This was my first visit and I will definitely make it my winter capital for the upcoming years!!! #naturalwonders #staycation #mountainview #georgia #kazbegi #stepantsminda #skiadventure #mountain #nationalpark #awesomepic #summervacation #givethanks

Georgia's Kazbegi Mountain, beautiful!
Georgia travel recommendation: Kazbegi, a place that makes people reluctant to leave! Legend has it that Mount Kazbek is the place where Prometheus was imprisoned by Zeus after stealing fire, and it is also the standard boundary line between the Eurasian plates.
Buick Mountain is covered in snow all year round. From a distance, it looks like a giant ice cream 🍦. It takes about 3 hours to drive from the capital Tbilisi. The mountain is very cold, so it is recommended to bring a down jacket for warmth.

💰Ticket: Free
👀Suggested duration of visit: 2 days
🚃Transportation:
✅1. Take a bus to get there. Take bus route 46 in the city to Didube bus station. The bus fare is 0.5 lari . Then take a mini-bus from the bus station to reach Kazbegi town. The fare is 10 lari .
✅2. Charter a car. Negotiate with the driver for the price. My friend paid 45 Lari per person for a round trip . On the way, we met a lady from Northeast China who paid 150 Lari for the charter and could stop anytime.
🌟If you want to go to the church ⛪️ on the mountaintop
✅1. You can charter a car from the foot of the mountain. Generally, the driver will first quote 50 Lari for round trip. After negotiating with the driver for a long time, we settled on 30 Lari and stayed at the mountaintop for half an hour.
✅2. You can also hike up the mountain, which takes about 2 hours, but the snow is slippery halfway and going up and down would take 4 hours, so I gave up and chose to charter a car instead.
🌟Tips: The last mini bus from Kazbegi to the city center of Tbilisi is at 5pm, so don't miss the return time if you want to go, my friends.

Jvari Monastery Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Beautiful Jvari mountain monastery in Georgia
Jvari Monastery is a sixth-century Georgian Orthodox monastery. It stands on the rocky mountaintop at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, overlooking the town of Mtskheta, which was formerly the capital of Georgia.
It is almost impossible to get here by public transport or on foot, so I recommend that you take a taxi from Tbilisi or buy a tour to this place, which are sold almost everywhere.

Jvari Monastery
Jvari Monastery is located on the top of the mountain 30 mins drive from Tbilisi. The highlight if this place is two different color of river collided.
It was raining very hard on the day we went to Jvari monastery. We barely see any views since it was very foggy. Fortunately we were able to see two rivers meets.
I would have like this place more if we had better weather. But good thing was it was no one there so we enjoyed ourselves.
Entrance fee: Free
Not only is it a beautiful view of the town below, of the two rivers mixing, and of the mountains surrounding - but also in the distance on a clear day you can also clearly see Kazbegi and the Caucasian mountains. A bit crowded inside but beautiful to see.

Jvari Monastery, a religious landmark in Georgia
Jvari Monastery, also known as Jvari Monastery, is located on the opposite hilltop at the confluence of the Kura River and the Aragvi River. From the top of the hill, you can overlook the entire old city of Mtskheta and the spectacular view of the confluence of the two rivers. This beautiful scenery has been vividly depicted by poets many times in history, and Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov, a Russian national poet, is one of them.
It is said that due to the large temperature difference of the river water of the two rivers, the rivers show different colors. Under good visibility, you can see the color boundary of the two rivers at the confluence with the naked eye.
Jvari Monastery is a landmark building in the religious history of Georgia. Since Saint Nino erected the cross in Jvari Monastery, it has attracted believers from all over the Caucasus. Unlike many traditional churches, there are no murals on the interior walls of this church. In the center is a huge wooden cross, on which the episodes in the Gospel are cleverly carved.
Address: Zahesi-Jvari Monastery
How to get there: Take a taxi from the Cathedral of the Pillar of Life in Mtskheta, about 15 lari round trip.

Gudauri Ski Resort Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Beautiful ski resort
Gudauri is known as the best place to ski in Georgia. It was three hours drive from Tbilisi. Since hotels and ski resorts in Gudauri were quite expensive during winter, we decided to stay in Kazbegi instead.
I have been skiing in USA and Korea before. I think Gudauri ski resort has the best price.
The mountain was beautiful, the resort was not crowded. There many restaurants and cafes in the area.
I had fun skiing !!!
Ski rental cost: 160 GEL (including jacket, pant, ski, ski shoes, gloves, helmets, sunglasses)

🎿Ski Resort: Gudauri Ski Resort
hahaha, I used to go to the islands every winter. This winter, I went to a place that is a million times colder than Chengdu❄, just a description, and then froze into a fool🙄. I have to say that snowboarding🏂 is cool, and girls who slide smoothly are even cooler. Ahhh, envy❤. But I, a sports idiot, stumbled miserably🙄(smiley face here), stubbornly smiling. The equipment makes up for the lack of skills, quick-drying clothes, ski socks🧦, ski suits, hats, goggles🥽, just didn't bring a board🤷🏻♀.
🎿🎿Gudauri Ski Resort🏂🏂
👉🏻1, Tbilisi-Gudauri driving🚗 about 2 and a half hours, going to Kazbegi will pass Gudauri. I personally think the most beautiful snow scene is on this section of the road, the scenery is really beautiful, it's a pity that our driver didn't stop for me all the way🅿.
👉🏻2, The ski resort is free to open, actually quite large, the cable car is also sold in sections, I only took the first section, round trip or one-way 10 lari forgot. The cable car🚡 stops selling tickets at 4 pm.
👉🏻3, It's said to be powder snow❄, I don't understand very well, hahahha😂. There are different levels of ski trails, anyway, I heard from the ski expert that there are speed learning trails and wild snow trails and so on.
👉🏻4, Paragliding🪂 There are many touts at the first cable car station, and someone will strike up a conversation and hand you a business card.
👉🏻5, When taking the cable car🚡, because it was snowing❄, oh my, the snow under the sun was sparkling like gold dust, how can it be so beautiful, it's too beautiful.

Ananuri Fortress Complex Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Ananuri Fortress
1. Maybe because there are too many buildings in the style of Georgia, this fortress castle 🏰 is not too stunning. If you can take a picture of the church, you can't take a picture of the snow-capped mountains.
2. No need to spend 3 gel to drive into the parking lot, just park on the roadside.
3. It's not necessary to drive back and forth from the city for 3 hours.

Ananuri fortress
Ananuri fortress was one of the most visited places in Georgia. It was one hour and a half from Tbilisi which was half way to Kazbegi and Gudauri.
The fortress surrounding was beautiful. Everywhere was photos spots. The walls were amazing, the bricks were amazing, the view of the river was amazing.
The ancient church in the middle was still in used nowadays. We went there on Sunday, there were many locals came and pray. I think it was very beautiful to see such faith.

This wonderful title makes me can't wait to meet the beautiful castle in this Transcaucasian Mountains. In November, Georgia has In the autumn, the beautiful scenery of the cross-forest, the red leaves, is really important for the season. There are some small vendors selling souvenirs in front of the castle. I rarely bought them from Dubai and bought a scarf and a lovely one without hesitation.
