Indigo Ningbo Cultural and Creative Port Hotel This was my first time in Ningbo, and I wanted to find a hotel that was both stylish and convenient for getting around. When I came across this Indigo hotel, I was immediately drawn to it. The hotel is located inside the Cultural and Creative Port, about a ten-minute walk from Nijiayan Station on Metro Line 2. A taxi ride to Laowaitan or Tianyi Square takes less than 15 minutes. The surrounding creative park area is great for taking photos, and a stroll along the river in the evening is quite pleasant. If you’re driving, the hotel has an underground parking garage where guests can park for free, which is very convenient. I recommend booking a river view room. Although it costs a couple hundred yuan more than the basic room, the floor-to-ceiling windows look out directly onto the Yong River. In the morning, you can open the curtains and watch cargo ships slowly passing by. This slow pace in the city is very soothing. At dusk, you can order a special cocktail and watch the sunset over the river, and at night, you can see the lights of the office buildings across the water. The pool isn’t large, but the ceiling is designed like a starry sky, making evening swims very atmospheric. Within a five-minute walk, there are several well-reviewed coffee shops, perfect for an afternoon of relaxing and daydreaming. This Indigo is not your typical cookie-cutter business hotel. It turns Ningbo’s dockside memories into a tangible experience. I've been to many mountain top viewing platforms in Ningbo, but this time I was truly amazed! 😍 Although Jinshan Village's Sea View Pavilion offers great views, it always feels a bit lacking in atmosphere; the distant view of Hengxi's mountains and waters from Wudutou gets a bit monotonous after a while. Deep in Baiyan Mountain, Yinzhou District, Ningbo, I found a "cloud-top ancient village" without any commercial atmosphere—Qingtang Village. No entrance fee, no crowded tourists, only tea fields covering the hills, solitary windmills, weathered ancient walls, and elderly residents staying behind. The tea gardens here remind one of Fuquan Mountain near Dongqian Lake, but with less artificial decoration and more wild freedom belonging to the mountains. The continuous tea bushes spread like a green velvet carpet over the slopes, with gentle and soothing lines. This "ancient village + tea fields + windmills" scene almost feels like stepping into a Swiss village at the foot of the Alps, so peaceful it seems unreal. Walking into the village, this sense of "time travel" becomes even stronger. The low-key Yang family ancestral hall at the foot of the mountain tells the enduring history of the Yang clan on this land. What is poignant is the now-closed Qingtang Primary School. Climbing the steps, the red characters "Unity" and "Learn Science" stand out boldly on the weathered walls, with fonts full of the imprint of the 1970s and 1980s. Standing in front of the school building, although empty, you can almost hear the sound of students reading aloud and the ringing of the class bell. The stone water pool in front is covered with moss, and the ancient trees are lush and green. These objects in the light and shadow are all stories of time. Don’t miss the Meixianyan cliff inscriptions by the roadside at the village entrance. A casual glance reveals it framed with wildflowers blooming beside the road, the iron brush strokes contrasting wonderfully with the delicate petals. Qingtang Village is the secret gateway to "Ningbo’s Most Beautiful Windmill Road." Starting from the well-preserved ancient path behind the village, passing through a quiet bamboo forest, you can take a "shortcut" straight to the mountaintop.
