Yummiest desserts in dud!
If you are in Dunedin and are having sweet cravings, I highly recommend that you head down to Jooni’s and grab yourself a dessert of choice from their variety of options! I loved this place because for less than $10 you get a good amount of sugar you need to satisfy your cravings- I got the Jooni’s special crepes and it was amazing! You can even ask them to make minor adjustments for you and they would be happy to!

FUN FOR KIDS AT MARLOW PLAYGROUND
This is the coolest place for kids to learn how to ride their scooters and bicycles safely on the road. With this mini road map, it provides a safe, controlled and suitable environment for kids to learn road safety, road signs and the road rules they need to know in order to travel on the main roads safely and confidently.

MARLOW PLAYGROUND ROAD FOR KIDS
Omg this was the coolest thing I have ever come across in a park! A road track for kids! It is a mini traffic area with mini traffic lights that are actually functional and work for both the vehicles and pedestrians. It even has all the right road signs in mini sizes, a roundabout, a zebra crossing, a tunnel, and even a parking area for bicycles or scooters!

MAORI ART AND MAORI DISPLAY
If you are ever in Dunedin and wondering about Maori culture and people, head on down to Otago Museum, across the road from Otago university, and climb on up to the first floor where they have a massive room for display of Maori art- in the form of paintings, carvings, and even digital art as shown in the first picture, they showcase different clothing and tools from olden days and they even have a mini cinema where you can seat about 10+ people to enjoy a educational film on Maori people and New Zealand as a country.

Lake Wakatipu Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Gorgeous Lake in Queenstown
Lake Wakatipu is an inland lake visible from Queenstown and it is the longest lake in New Zealand. The view of this is gorgeous from every angle. When viewing from Queenstown, get to a high point and enjoy the panoramic view from above. #bucketlistreboot
To hike up the Ben Lomond without taking the gondola starts from the trail beside the cemetery up to the gondola station and then walk follow the sign until you arrive at the peak of Ben Lomond. The view from the Gondola station view deck is awesome, you can enjoy the view of the Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu.
This is a very attractive lake that borders Queenstown. There are many options for enjoying the including cruises, jet skis and paddle boarding, but be careful as the water is very cold and a thick wetsuit is recommended. Interestingly, there is a seiche that is a slow tidal wave that is sort of like a tide that raises and lowers the water level by 8 inches every 27 minutes. #wintergetaway

On the way to Mount Cook, passing through Lake Wakatipu, Maori is the devil's lair. It belongs to the glacial lake like Lake Tekapo, and it has a different blue color in the sun. Here you can see the snow peaks of Mount Cook, New Zealand's highest peak. Although it is summer, because the water is formed by the melting of the glaciers, it is still very cold.

Lake Wānaka Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Lake Wanaka in Autumn
#fallishere
Lake Wanaka in Autumn is spectacular.
Wānaka is a beautiful destination in New Zealand's South Island. To fully enjoy it, simply bring a sandwich and sit on the grass by the lake – it's a serene way to appreciate life.
“That Wanaka Tree” is a viral tree 😂 The tree itself is quite busy even in autumn so be prepared to wait for a photo. There are no charges but also no seating near the tree.
The landscape surrounding it seems to make it even more special.
Wanaka is beautiful as an overall.
Half-Day Kayak Tour on Lake Wanaka
The team at Paddle Wanaka are easy to deal with and can cater to your needs whether it be a guided tour or you simply want to do your own thing.
We highly recommend doing The Tiki Tour if you’re keen to do a guided tour and learn about the area.
Depending on the wind direction, you will either paddle from the lakeshore and at the end be picked up by boat, or travel out to your start point by boat and paddle back to the lakeshore. The safety briefing before you set off is very thorough and you’re in safe hands.
Our guide Austin was really knowledgeable and we enjoyed the stories he told us about Bull Island and Ruby Island, he shared several Maori legends with us as well. The information about Lake Wanaka and other lakes and rivers in the region was also interesting.
We had an afternoon tea stop on Ruby Island before heading back to the lakeshore.
The Tiki Tour is definitely worth doing.
Thanks Austin and Chris for a great afternoon on the lake.

This picturesque tree that lives in the wanaka lake in New Zealand is always worth taking a picture of!
Relative to the prosperity of Queenstown, I prefer Wanaka's peace and quiet.
It is hidden between Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea and the Southern Alps. It is a dream town like a paradise.
Walking in the windy and sunny days, strolling along the pebble beach, listening to the lake's sloppy, deciduous sand, even doing nothing, looking at the lonely tree in a daze, is a pleasant thing.
Wanaka is the place I have been most obsessed with, because in addition to completely letting go of my own self, listening to the voice of my heart, I also understand that doing nothing can be so justified, people can not help but be drunk in time.

Glenorchy Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Experience Paradise on Earth in Glenorchy ✨
Just a 45-min drive away from Queenstown lies a picturesque little town called Glenorchy. Because of it’s stunning scenery, this place has formed the backdrop for films like The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings and Narnia, so if you’re a fan of these movies, you definitely have to visit this place!
You can also take a walk along the Glenorchy Walkway, which is a 1-2 hours loop track that takes you around the town to admire the mountain ranges and the beautiful lagoon.
During sunset, many photographers will gather around the boardwalk to capture photos of the lagoon and snow-capped mountains in the orange sunset glow. Also, don’t forget to take a photo with the iconic red house before you go!

That Famous Red House in Glenorchy!
Those who have read any travel magazines or on the internet about New Zealand, must have seen this red little house being featured before.
Located just 45mins drive away from the main town of Queenstown, Glenorchy is a MUST VISIT for those who are traveling in this area.
The scenery and landscapes here are just pure beauty. It is a charming little town featuring pristine lakes, snow capped mountains, and native beech forest. If you’re into movies, you may also recognize this place as a scene found in lord of the rings or the chronicles of narnia.
I personally spend 3 days in this place and honestly I just couldn’t get enough of how beautiful this place is.
Small tip: Make sure you are bringing a camera you can to this place because a photo of this place might be the best souvenir to bring home! #hiking #nationalpark #decembertravel #scenicspotguide #travelinspiration #naturalwonders
One of the two must-visit spots around Queenstown is the town of Glenorchy
Glenorchy is located 50 kilometers away from Queenstown.
Over a hundred local households still live here,
unlike the bustling commercial atmosphere of Queenstown.
It's a very peaceful and pure town,
the last untouched land of New Zealand, the last Middle-earth.
It is also the location for many Hollywood movie shoots,
Wolverine, The Chronicles of Narnia, Underworld, Fast & Furious 7.
Take a morning off to relax and check in here.
It's great👍🏻

Queenstown: A lovely resort town
Queenstown is a lovely resort town situated in the South Island of New Zealand. It is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, heart-pounding activities, and lively nightlife. The town is also home to a number of popular tourist attractions, including the Skyline Gondola, the Queenstown Gardens, and the Shotover Jet.
Queenstown is a beautiful and exciting town that is well worth a visit. If you are looking for a place to have an adventure, Queenstown is the perfect destination for you.
God’s own country- New Zealand
On my way to Mt Cook and we stopped by to take some photos of the beautiful scenery that you can’t forget once you have seen it.
It takes around 3 hours drive from the Town Centre of Queenstown and it totally worth the drive!
The weather wasn’t great when we were there but you still can see the mountains 🏔️ and the views. If you are planning to go Mt Cook, please book at least a night to stay there so that you can enjoy the track and sit down and relax with a beer or wine to look at the views.
We have actually planned to go back again next year because you will want to come back again and again for the views here.

Adventure Awaits in Queenstown
Queenstown, nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and surrounded by the majestic Southern Alps, is a haven for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. My journey to this stunning destination in New Zealand was an unforgettable exploration of breathtaking landscapes, thrilling activities, and serene beauty. Queenstown is not just a place to visit; it's an experience, offering a perfect blend of adrenaline-pumping adventures and peaceful moments in nature.
Exploring the Queenstown Garden was a peaceful interlude in a trip filled with high-energy activities. The gardens, located on a peninsula extending into Lake Wakatipu, were a display of vibrant flowers, ancient trees, and quiet paths. The tranquility of this space, with the lake and mountains encircling it, was a gentle reminder of New Zealand's natural beauty.
The adventure continued with a trip to the nearby Fiordland National Park and a day hike on the Routeburn Track, one of New Zealand's Great Walks. The track's stunning vistas, ranging from alpine meadows to mirror-like lakes, encapsulated the untouched beauty of the South Island's landscapes. The sense of solitude and connection to nature was profound, offering a moment to reflect on the majesty of the natural world.
Queenstown's culinary scene was a delightful discovery, with a focus on local produce and wines from the Central Otago region. Dining at a lakeside restaurant, with views of the Remarkables mountain range, was not just a meal but an experience, blending exquisite flavors with breathtaking scenery.
For those planning a visit, Queenstown offers year-round attractions, from skiing and snowboarding in winter to hiking and water sports in the summer. Booking activities in advance is recommended, especially during peak seasons, to ensure you don't miss out on the adventures that await.
Queenstown left me with a sense of awe and a renewed zest for life. It's a place where the beauty of the natural world meets the spirit of adventure, offering experiences that resonate long after the journey ends.
