#MarchGoodPlaces2025 During the off-season, I stayed at the resort next to the Hakuba Ski Resort - Hotel Green Plaza Hakuba. It cost less than NT$4,000 and included breakfast for two! Although I can’t ski, at least I can soak in the hot springs, which is pretty nice. The appearance of the Baima Green Plaza Hotel is very eye-catching. The white townhouse with a red pointed roof looks like a cottage in a fairy tale. Coupled with the blue sky and green land, it is super dreamy! The hotel is actually quite old, as can be seen from the fact that the room card is used as a key. The decoration of the Japanese-style room is also a bit old-fashioned. The tatami floor mat makes the space feel larger, and the overall light is dim. Fortunately, the beautiful scenery outside the window greatly adds to the charm, as you can see the beautiful mountain and forest scenery of the ski resort. Being close to the ski resort is a plus in winter, but it also means that the location is relatively far from the city. Apart from the facilities of the resort itself, there is nothing to see outside, so it is really more convenient to drive here by yourself. #Hakuba Skiing #Nagano

#Cable car Tsugaike Plateau is a great place for hiking in the summer and a famous ski resort in the winter. Taking the cable car up and down the mountain is a very comfortable trip. Starting from Tsugaike Plateau, you need to take two types of cable cars, and the scenery is super beautiful. It also feels like taking a cable car in Switzerland. The first is a small cable car like the Jiu Zu Cable Car. Because there are few tourists, our family can take a car by ourselves. It takes about 20 minutes, and then we walk a short distance to change to a large cable car and continue to ride for about 7 minutes. Tsugaike's Gondola box cable car (large cable car) is 4,120 meters long and is one of the longest cable car lines in Japan. There were staff members on the large cable car giving explanations. Although they were speaking Japanese and I couldn't understand them, I knew they were explaining the ecology of nearby plants. The most special thing was the many purple cones on the treetops. I checked and it should be the purple cones of fir. We went to Tsugaike Nature Park on Tsugaike Plateau, where you can enter for free with your cable car ticket. The park is really ecologically rich, with many flowers blooming in summer. Cortina D’Ampezzo is undoubtedly the most famous of all the small mountain towns in the Dolomites and due to its popularity, it’s also one of the busiest and most expensive. I’ve spent a lot of time exploring Cortina and its surroundings. The high street boasts high-end fashion stores and fancy restaurants so if you want to intersperse your mountain holiday with some shopping then Cortina is the place to do it. The popularity of Cortina is definitely justified. As soon as I arrived at Green Plaza Hotel Baima, I was shocked by the red-roofed European-style building. As soon as I entered the lobby, it was full of strong European style, red carpets, and spiral staircases, which were very suitable for the mood of vacation. Dinner was served at the buffet restaurant on the second floor, which had a variety of delicious food, including grilled Shinshu beef, various sashimi, fried shrimp tempura, curry, steamed dumplings, pasta, udon, soba, baked food, salad bar, drinks, and alcohol. Some of the alcohol was at your own expense, but it really filled you up. The highlight of a hot spring hotel is the hot spring bathing and yukata. This hotel is very considerate and provides yukatas of various sizes for you to choose from. In addition, the guest rooms are equipped with Japanese tatami. You must take photos as souvenirs! The hotel also has an area for playing billiards and pool, where the children had a lot of fun. When I was having breakfast in the morning, I found out that there was a ski resort next to me. The scenery was great, and it made me feel very happy while having breakfast. Next time I will come here again to spend a special winter and experience a different seasonal atmosphere.

Come to Hokuriku, Japan and stay in a super mysterious hotel Tudor architecture has a fairytale feel The European-style building with red roof is surrounded by mountains and there is a super large ski resort behind it. The overall feeling is not only fairytale, but also a castle hotel with European style. The room features a Western style with a Japanese tatami style. The sum of the two together is really unique. The only thing is that the toilet is a bit small. However, the hotel's large public bath is very large and the spa water column is really good. The buffet dinner is delicious, rich and varied. Tenguhara is probably the first resting point if you start climbing from the trailhead at Tsugaike Nature Park toward Hakuba Oike Pond. It is a magnificent wetland, and Mount Hakuba Norikura can be seen in the distance. There is a boardwalk, so it is easy to walk. Tsugaike Hutte is one of two buildings located near the trailhead to Mt. Hakuba in Tsugaike Nature Park. It is quite beautiful for a mountain hut, has a cafe attached, and can be used by non-guests. As it is a mountain hut, shared rooms are the norm, but private rooms are also available. The classic idea is to spend the night here and then start hiking Mt. This is Shizen-en Station, the last stop of the Tsugaike Ropeway. By the time you get here, you've risen to a much higher altitude, and the scenery is completely different from the foot of the mountain. On the ropeway, the mountain scenery and the recent state of Tsugaike are explained to you, making you look forward to the scenery ahead. The station building itself is quite clean, and has everything you need, including toilets and souvenir shops. This is Tsugadaimon Station, the station at the base of the Tsugaike Ropeway. From this point onwards, it becomes harder to get cell phone signals, and you start to feel like you're in the mountains. There is a large sign in front of the ropeway station, and it seems you can take commemorative photos. If you're a total newbie and aren't sure if you'll even like it, you can just rent some gear and practice at the base of the mountain first. There's no need to buy a gondola pass right away, as the lower area is wide open with plenty of room to comfortably practice your balance, braking, and turns. For snowboarders, make sure to set aside plenty of time—it might take a whole day of practice just to get the hang of controlling your board! 😆 Beyond the slopes, the vibe at Tsugaike is absolutely gorgeous. The surrounding snow-capped mountains offer breathtaking views. Once you're done hitting the slopes, there's even a foot bath area where you can kick back and relax before heading home. A quick tip: be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as the buses heading back to the village stop running pretty early. If you do happen to miss the last one, you can still catch a taxi back. March snow is disappointing so maybe a good idea to ski only in Jan and feb.
