I took advantage of the long weekend in October to visit Kochi Prefecture. I stopped off at Otsukicho Roadside Station before heading to Kashiwajima. This place is close to the sea and sells sashimi at a very reasonable price. They sell it in small portions, so I bought some and ate it in the car. It's so beautiful, the water is so warm, I feel like I want to swim forever. I swam so long that my back turned completely black, and I got a summer tattoo! This Shikoku drive was so amazing, I'd like to share a detailed introduction to the spots we stopped at. ✨ 📍Nakatsu Valley Prefectural Natural Park The ultimate "Niyodo Blue"! The contrast between the crystal-clear river and the vibrant greenery took my breath away. 🌿 The walking trail was well-maintained along the valley, making it easy to walk. 🚶♀️ I discovered moss-covered rocks and small waterfalls, and felt refreshed bathing in negative ions. ✨ Uryu Falls was particularly impressive, with its sparkling spray that left me mesmerized. 📍Shikoku Karst A sky-high road where you can have the spectacular view all to yourself! Spreading out over 1,000 meters above sea level, I was blown away by the picture-book-like scenery. 🥺 The endless green carpet and rolling limestone were both mysterious and charming. 🪨 The clear air and endless blue sky were like a cleansing experience. Drive west from Kochi city for about 3 hours! The highway ends halfway through, but it's worth the time. There is bluefin tuna from Kashiwajima, and the water is incredibly clear. There were even wild dolphins swimming around 🐬 There are many divers in the town, and we stayed at the guesthouse Fureai Kaiyuri! The first floor has a dining room and a bath, the second floor has a toilet, washbasin, refrigerator, and rooms, and there are several rooms, and the four of us stayed in a single-floor room on the third floor, about 20 tatami mats in size. This time we stayed with our family, and we were very satisfied with the meals for the kids and the meals full of seafood for the adults! The bluefin tuna steak was so delicious that we bought some to take home! We didn't have breakfast, but we swam a lot in the sea in the morning, and at night we went squid fishing with the locals. We didn't catch any, but it was a great experience to be able to fillet the squid that the captain caught and eat it on the boat!
