[2025 Singapore Restaurant] Travel Guide for Alchemist (Updated Feb)

If you’ve been to Design Orchard, you would know that there’s a hidden café by 𝗔𝗹𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁 right at the top. Earlier this month, to everyone’s dismay, the popular coffee chain has decided to close the outlet. However, they were planning to reopen just right across the road in a more visible space. 👏🏻 Alchemist has reopened their Somerset outlet at the outdoor dining area of The Heeren where Tsui Wah used to occupy. Designed by @wynk_collaborative, their new space takes on a different approach than their other outlets, full of wooden fixtures all around. Unfortunately, there’s no air-conditioning, but it feels like the ceiling fans are helping with the summer heat. 🥵 #singaporetrip#cafe

#singaporetrip A good coffee brewer with a good coffee bean also, I loved both coffee and arrogant staff which not compromise to serve customer with a good coffee. Very long queue during Sat & Sun, and if you wish to buy coffee bean and your favourite bean on shelf, please grab it before all gone. I bought bean on Sunday evening (Lumos) and back to buy once Monday morning but all gone. Opened air seat and yet, too hot!

#singapore Had dark matter white. Coffee was good. Cafe ambience is minimalist zen and calming in the midst of the busy orchard road. Would actually love for them to serve with proper glasses/cups for even better experience instead of disposable paper wares, though I understand it will complicate operations. Can get a bit warm on a hot sunny day as they only have fans in the open concept cafe. Service can be friendlier and more welcoming.
