The area is very spacious and would be a great spot for watching the sunrise/sunset. The whole hike from the car and back takes about 1.5-2 hours (without rushing).

this viewpoint is not easy to access if you’re not a big fan of hiking or jungles. first we drove our scooter to the entry point of this hike, it was quite a bumpy ride. then we walk for like 10 minutes it was pretty steep, so you need to be a bit fit to do this! however the view up there was just beautiful, you can see Ya nui beach, windmill viewpoint and other small islands nearby!! it’s amazing #beachlife

To reach the spot, we had to drive uphill on a rugged dirt road, which was quite challenging. We parked on the side of the road near the hiking trail. We encountered only 3-4 tourists along the way, which made it clear that this viewpoint is not very popular yet, possibly due to the difficulty of the journey. But once we were there, we decided to push on. We walked through the forest on a trail leading to the viewpoint. The hike wasn’t too far, but it was quite steep. After about 15-20 minutes, we emerged from the forest to the top of the hill, where we were greeted by a wide and high vantage point that provided a stunning view of the beaches below, along with the endless blue sea. It was incredibly beautiful. We were lucky enough to catch some tourists paragliding nearby, and we got a close-up view of the action, which was amazing. Overall, Black Rock Viewpoint is highly recommended. It’s a bit tiring, but definitely worth it.

There are many ways to get there and the hike can be a short out and back or part of a longer circular hike including the Cape Krathing bluff which is also spectacular. For the shortest walk use maps to drive all the way along a bumpy dirt track until you reach a large stone with Pa HinDum written on it. If is then a short 10-15 minute walk uphill on a jungle track to the viewpoint. Wear grip footwear. Bring water and bug spray. Use All Trails App to find longer hikes.
