Guigang Donghu Park, Guangxi | Healing Park
|Healing Park. A city park in Guigang with clear water and lush trees. You can take a leisurely stroll here, enjoy the lake and mountain views, and even try water activities like boating 🚣♀️.
It's a must-visit park in Guigang and the largest inland lake park in Guangxi. If you're not in a hurry, you can take a leisurely walk around the lake.
🌿 Donghu, originally known as Dongjingtang, also known as Luyuntang, is commonly referred to as Datang. According to legend, before the Ming Dynasty, Donghu was formed by more than 20 lotus ponds connected together, with a well on a rugged rock in the middle, hence the name Dongjing. Later, it was named Donghu after the famous Song Dynasty poet Su Dongpo visited Guigang and inscribed the words "Donghu" on a stone at the well. Donghu is known as the Pearl of Guigang and is a sacred lake celebrated by the people.
Nearby is the old street, where you can visit the park in the evening, enjoy the old street's delicacies at night, and take a stroll along the river at Dadong Wharf.
The park lives up to its name, surrounding a lake, and is a haven for local elders to relax, play chess, and dance. If you visit this park on a cloudy day, you'll see its poetic side.

Donghu is the oldest park in the hearts of Guigang people, from paid admission to free admission, located in the old city. Since Guanghui Company bought the original Guigang Vocational College and developed it into real estate, they have been upgrading the park to attract homebuyers, and it has proven to be successful. The upgraded park is more beautiful than before, with cleaner water and more attractions. I have witnessed all of this. Tonight, I visited Donghu Park again and found it still charming, with many visitors. The only downside is the lack of lighting, making it hard to appreciate the beauty of Donghu at night. I recommend coming here for a walk, exercise, and to enjoy the night breeze. Guigang is full of shared bikes, so cycling here is the best option, as parking spaces are limited. I suggest spending three hours here.
