[Motosakura Castle] Motosakura Castle towered on a hill. It is one of Japan's Top 100 Castles. Looking up from below, it is easy to imagine that it is a little high and difficult to attack, but looking from above, you can see the surroundings. It seems that the sea used to be up to this point, and shipping was also well developed. GOTO Shizuoka Fujinomiya & Numazu solo trip 4-day holiday in September. I went to my favorite Shizuoka with GOTO Travel. There was no traffic jam on the train and bus. It was fun. I got energy from Mt. Fuji, ate some delicious food, and I can keep going for a while!

One thing I definitely didn't want to miss during my trip to Osaka in early April was seeing the cherry blossoms. 🌸 The timing was perfect, and seeing the beautiful pink blossoms around Osaka Castle made the visit even more special. The historic castle surrounded by blooming cherry trees created such a beautiful scene—it felt like the perfect picture of spring in Japan. 🏯🌸 I spent time walking around, taking photos, and simply enjoying the atmosphere. There were many people out enjoying the cherry blossoms too, but the lively atmosphere made the experience even more memorable. For me, cherry blossom season is one of the best times to visit Japan. Today, I'll take you into the National Museum of Japanese History for an eye-opening journey of historical and cultural exploration. First Stop: The First Encounter — The Magnificent Main Entrance Arriving at the museum, the first thing that catches the eye is a broad, stunningly designed grand staircase. As shown in ⁠image_0.png⁠, the majestic dark red brick steps rise tier by tier, extending all the way to the arched entrance in the distance. It feels like a time tunnel leading visitors into the unknown river of history. Against the backdrop of the blue sky and white clouds, the museum's modern geometric architecture appears exceptionally grand. Walking up the stairs, every step feels like treading to the rhythm of history, filling my heart with anticipation. A political cartoon titled "The Situation Map" caught my attention; it vividly depicts the grim reality of China being carved up by global powers at that time. This was a square cloth used by Japanese soldiers to wrap their luggage or serve as an identifier. In addition, several Japanese books, such as *Diary of a Military Doctor in the First Sino-Japanese War* and *An Evening Talk on a Soldier's Resolve*, are on display. They vividly record what the Japanese soldiers saw, heard, and thought on the battlefield back then, giving visitors a more intuitive sense of the true cruelty of war. Fourth Stop: A Surprise — An Unexpected Encounter with Godzilla In a corner of the museum, I actually made an unexpected discovery—a massive Godzilla model! This unexpected "encounter" added a lot of fun to what was otherwise a serious historical journey. Conclusion Although this trip to the Chiba Museum lasted only a few short hours, it was highly rewarding. Here, not only did I revisit many crucial historical events, but I also gained a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the history of Japan and East Asia as a whole through precious artifacts and detailed historical records. At the same time, the museum's grand architectural design and diverse exhibition content left a profound impression on me.
