Indulgence at Valley Wing
This was our first time staying at the Shang and it certainly left us yearning for more!
After we were checked in, we plonked ourselves on the couches for our afternoon tea and henceforth began our boozy staycation. I mean, everyone is here for the free-flow Veuve Cliquot, right?
The afternoon tea was a good balance of sweet and savoury treats. The breakfast was delish with quite a good selection (caviar!), though the evening canapé fell short of my expectations.
The room, albeit dated, was incredibly spacious for two of us. Once we entered the room, a welcome card, along with a plate of fruits and chocolates greeted us. It was a nice personalised gesture from the hotel. The King bed was god sent, and cushioned with fluffy pillows. The bathroom was huge and equipped with a tub! Bathroom toiletries were mainly L’occitaine (if that’s your thangggg 😏)
There was also a nespresso machine and a couple of sachet of tea. Everything you’ll need to have a comfy stay!
Definitely would love to return here for another stay, ideally for a special occasion!

Ascott Raffles Place, Singapore
The hotel is built within a restored building that once housed an insurance company back in 1955. During that time, the building was one of the tallest structure in southeast asia! It was also one of the only few buildings that had air-conditioning. To bring the old and worn-our structure back to its prime, The Ascott Limited generously spent a whopping $60 million on renovations. Just wow, right?
When I arrived to the hotel, the quaintness of the building was obvious but there was a certain elegance to it. The hotel lobby was nothing but breathtaking. Same like Ascott Orchard, check-in counters were minimal. Maybe it’s just me but I find it awkward doing my check-ins while seated down. I’m just used to standing up while handling documents! But that aside, check-in was a breeze. The staff was so polite and explained everything in detail. Perfection!
The suite that we booked was called the Cutler Suite. Before I arrived, I already knew what to expect of the room. I always research prior to all of my hotel stays and I genuinely felt that I was prepared to what the room has to offer.
Boy, was I wrong! The expectations I had before? Exceeded! It was really exciting. I never felt that elevated in a long time! The photos and videos I saw online didn’t do justice to my room at all. It was really beautiful. Even beautiful is an understatement. It was gorgeous, at its best. I’m unsure if I got a recently renovated suite, but it didn’t look like what I saw on their official website. It was spectacular, if not, better.

Ascott Orchard, Singapore
Located near a prominent shopping district in Singapore, the property is nestled in Cairnhill Road. Mind you, if you’re into hotel rooms that has great outdoor views, Ascott Orchard does not offer a picturesque scene from your window. It’s surrounded by other tall serviced-apartments and condominiums, but then again, why would you wanna look out the window when the hotel is just as breathtakingly beautiful?
As I stepped out from my car, the first impression that I had of the property was how modern-looking everything looks. The building design is clean and sleek, although typical if you’re working in Singapore’s business district like I am. I always get intrigued with skyscrapers and architecture, that’s just the geek in me! The clear, blue skies reflected from the glass exterior makes the view more aesthetically pleasing.
The hotel lobby is located on the second level. For a big property, I’m surprised that the check-in area wasn’t as spacious. Small, yet cosy. And there were only two check-in counters.
A little basic tip: Always check-in on a weekday to avoid the long, soul-destroying queue.

KēSa House, Singapore
My room was on the 3rd floor which was the highest in the hotel. Right by the lift lobby is the laundry area where you can wash your clothes in the washing machines provided. On the 2nd floor, there’s a lounge for you to chill with your friends. A kitchen/ pantry area is also available to use! There’s a kitchenette for you to do some light cooking and a microwave for heating up of food. You can check out the photos here. However, due to the recent heightened pandemic restrictions, the kitchen area is out of bounds until further notice.
So! Will I recommend my friends to stay here? An absolutely, definite yes! If you’re looking for somewhere scenic and comfortable, this hotel is definitely for you. Perfect for couples, even more perfect if you have large groups of friends. KēSa House is for everyone! Also remember, book the deluxe category if you want a skylight in your room.

Fort Canning Hotel, Singapore
Do I recommend this hotel for your next stay? A million percent, yes! If you need a short getaway from your busy life and in need of somewhere that has peace and serenity, this fine hotel is perfect for you. I understand that Sentosa is a tad too far for some to have a getaway from our bustling city, I feel you! Fort Canning is an ideal location yes? If you’re a history geek too like me who loves anything old and quaint, you’ll be awed at the interior AND exterior of the building.
I absolutely couldn’t find any reason for you to NOT love the hotel. It’s really divine! I really do appreciate the hotel for it’s quiet location, really something different than what I’m used to.
I wrote a full review on my blog about my stay here!

LYF Funan, Singapore
TELEVISION. There is none. Not one television in the room, which is simply the most ESSENTIAL item you should be able to find in your room. As per their response, a TV is not provided BUT a high-speed wifi is available for guests to use with their OWN devices. I mean.. quite surprising cause I don’t get the logic behind it. You mean.. the biggest co-living hotel in southeast asia.. doesn’t have a TV set in their room but oh, guests can use the hotel’s wifi instead! Just… amazing.
All in all, will I recommend this hotel to my friends? I honestly will not. But! If you’re here with large groups of friends, this hotel might be interesting for you. It looks like a great venue for you to bond with a team of your close friends or colleagues. Though, that might be impossible now due to the pandemic restrictions. Maybe soon!
The concept of Co-Living is interesting to me but it’s just a big no for me here. It feels very much like a dormitory. Staying in a hotel for leisure purposes, I would expect everything to be convenient for me but it’s just the opposite during my stay.
Tell me about your experience if you ever stayed here. Really interested to know about your take on co-living hotels, seems like it’s a new thing in Singapore right now.

Orchard Rendezvous Hotel, Singapore
There’s a huge variety of food to choose from since we’re on the good, lively side of Orchard Road with a lot of restaurants nearby. There’s a 24-hour coffee bean outlet downstairs which I really love, where my best-friend and I got our caffeine fix at 4am in the morning.
Given the circumstances, my stay was really great and fun! Of course, part of it was the company I had. But also, the attentive staffs that made everything so efficient and swift. We spent days emailing each other back and forth, I’m actually glad the stay happened despite our little disagreement.
A great, huge thanks to Ms Nammi and of course, the Room Division Manager, Ms Pushpalatha for making everything possible during the stay.
Will I recommend this hotel to all my friends? Definitely! Not only the rooms are spacious and elegant, the rooms rates are affordable too. Rates on a usual day will cost you roughly about $150, depending on which travel app you book it from.

Goodwood Park Hotel, Singapore
#exploresgtogether #luxuryhotel #sgstaycations
The Goodwood Park Hotel is a perfect location for everyone, for any occasions. Did it exceed my expectations? Sadly, no. It’s really a great property that could achieve so much more, if not for the underwhelming and bare design of the hotel lobby. It really has great potential. The service of the front desk team could be improved too! They’re the ones giving guests the first impression of the hotel, literally the faces of the brand.
In my opinion, certain features of the hotel rooms really need to be modernised too. Like including a bidet in the bathroom or as simple as providing a smart TV in all the rooms.
Since it’s the second oldest hotel in Singapore, imagine the fanfare if everything was restored and revamped right, like the Fullerton and Raffles Hotel. That would be so legendary.
Despite that, I truly enjoyed my stay and would surely come back to host a gathering or party in the suites once the strict measures are lifted. Certainly looking forward to some positive changes when I return!

While I find the location of the hotel a tad too out of place, my stay was indeed very pleasant. Check-in process was fast and swift. Again, I totally forgot the malay front desk agent’s name but he was fast and efficient. And because the hotel is rather small, room service was swift. I called up the front desk for some ice and it came to my room in a big bucket within minutes.
If you’re within budget and in need of a good hotel to recuperate and rest, this hotel is perfect for you. I would also recommend you to have dinner at their rooftop restaurant. While the food isn’t that fantastic, the view totally is. And! The service is incredible too.

Staycay at St Regis ❤
Wonderful stay at St Regis with signature butler service who helped us with so so many things, from prepping drinks to drawing bubble bath for us 💯, even helping us with dining reservations and express checkout 🤗
Used the 75 dollar dining credits for chocolate high tea 😋 I personally like that there is still some savouries with lots of chocolate so that it does not get too jelat yet follows the theme of 🍫 beware of sugar rush 🤪
Glad that there is the signature epicurean omelette which looks way more atas and stands out from the usual American breakfast and their standard eggs. French toast and waffles were good too 👍
hope to come back again when there is good deals!!🤩

This hotel is perfect if you’re hosting a birthday party or a gathering. If you’re into something more relaxed and calm, this isn’t for you. I know it isn’t for me. Will I come back? Of course, provided I’m with a group of friends.
I didn’t opt for breakfast too cause in-room dining is not available here. For me, that’s a downside. I never liked leaving the room when I should just be able to order food in. But if it doesn’t bother you, it shouldn’t be a problem. Robertson Quay has countless amount of restaurants for you to explore!
The affordable rate for this hotel is unbelievable too. The price of a standard Alcove room can go for as low as $90, depending on what day you book. During the pandemic, I would suggest you to hang out indoors; making this hotel a perfect place for you and your vaccinated friends.

Harbour Ville Hamilton, Singapore
I would definitely recommend this hotel to those who wants an affordable staycation with either friends or their loved one. It’s pretty near to the shopping mall and MRT, as well. Since the hotel doesn’t provide in-room dining, City Square mall has a huge variety of food you can choose from!
Also. If you’re a light sleeper like me, this hotel probably won’t be suitable for you. At least for me? I’m fine with the construction noise but hearing conversations from next door was really frustrating for me.
Another tip! Do check our their website and book directly with them for more discounts. I know I said I love TRIP, but sometimes I love to compare the rates from different apps just to see which one is more affordable and worth it.
If you’ve been here, tell me all about your experience! Did you hear conversations from the people next to your room? Or was it just me?

Grand Hyatt, Singapore
I’m sure most of us know of this hotel, particularly famous for StraitsKitchen, their halal buffet restaurant which I’ve been to; and had the greatest time of my life with my family.
Built in 1971, Grand Hyatt Singapore is definitely one of the iconic long-standing hotel in our tiny little island. The external facade of the property definitely looks dated and old but the interior is interestingly new and modern. The lobby is massive and spacious, well-lit with natural lighting through the glass doors. The check-in area is located further behind and has a slightly different setting than the lobby. It has a calming warm, dim-lit atmosphere. Somewhat romantic too, almost. The decor has a Japanese touch to it. I’m unsure what vibe they are aiming for but it’s aesthetically pleasing.
Will I recommend this hotel to you? One-hundred percent! The room is massive, I’m still confused as to whether they categorize it as their standard rooms or suite. I’ll suggest you to call them up and ask before booking to avoid disappointments. It’s really a huge property with enormous rooms to accommodate your family if you need to. Do remember though, only 3 guests are allowed to stay overnight.

The Fullerton Hotel, Singapore
Will I recommend this hotel to you? One hundred, thousand percent! My stay was a short but undeniably a perfect one. Among all my hotel stays in Singapore, this one is the only one that succeeds in making me fully relaxed. It’s really nice to just splurge and have some peace and serenity once in awhile!
I watched the sunset by the heated pool and it was indeed out of this world. Yes, the pool was heated. It felt really calm and soothing. I’m usually shivering when I’m in hotel pools, but this time I’m not. Why? Because it’s just that perfect.
I really can’t wait to return to the hotel, I definitely will. And so should you!
