Melbourne Icons
Melbourne is a dynamic and modern Australian city that offers incredible street art, culture and city skyline featuring exciting rooftop bars. These pics represent some of the icons of Melbourne including Flinders Street Station, the Southbank and the city’s trams which are free within certain limits. If visiting Melbourne you must be sure to try the coffee, for which it is famous for, and the rooftop bars.

The highlights of my Melbourne trip... frolicking horses roaming around the down town city is like time traveling back to the 19th century of Victorian England. This photo I took of the famous Flinder Street station captures the paradox of modern advancement with old cultural heritage all in one photo. The new trams speedily go up and down the street whereas the horses slowly gallop and take on tourists. Only in Melbourne where you can see such a paradox.
The second highlight is obviously the coffee! Best coffee in TOWN. Best coffee in the world! This was a free cup of coffee I’ve received at the Fine Foods Exhibition which is held annually at Southbank (but I’m not sure if it’s still happening this year due to Covid).
All artsy cultural loving people should definitely
pay a visit to Melbourne. It is full of art, heritage, amazing coffee and lovely people.

Melbourne's Cityscape
Melbourne is a city that took my breath away with its diverse and striking architecture. From modern skyscrapers to Victorian-era buildings, this Australian gem has it all for architecture lovers like myself.
As I strolled along the Yarra River, I was greeted by the sight of Federation Square's iconic modern design. With its sloping planes and mix of zinc, glass and sandstone, this public square shows Melbourne's embrace of contemporary architecture. Nearby Flinders Street Station, in contrast, is a stunning remnant of the city's colonial past. The prominent domed building built in 1910 remains a treasured landmark.
Venturing into the Central Business District, I craned my neck upwards to admire the towering skyscrapers. Our guide highlighted the unusual triangle-shaped Tower Melbourne, before pointing out the striking blue glass exterior of the Eureka Tower. At almost 300 meters high, this skyscraper offers incredible views from its observation deck.
Just outside the city center in inner suburbs like Fitzroy, Carlton and St Kilda, blocks of attached Victorian terraces with wrought iron lacework delighted me with their old-world charm. And the World Heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building, constructed in 1880 for the Melbourne International Exhibition, remains an outstanding symbol of the city's 19th century pride and confidence.
With its respect for the old and embrace of the new, Melbourne has curated an architectural experience like no other for visitors. The diversity of building styles here, from modern wonders to historic icons, tells the story of an innovative city confidently looking to the future without forgetting its past. I was thoroughly impressed.

Melbourne Skydeck Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Souring Above Melbourne's Skydeck
#visitmelbourne
The Melbourne Skydeck, perched atop the iconic Eureka Tower, offers visitors an unparalleled experience of soaring above the urban splendor of Melbourne, Australia. Rising 297 meters (975 feet) above the bustling city streets, this observation deck provides awe-inspiring panoramic views that stretch as far as the eye can see.
As you step into the Skydeck, you'll immediately be captivated by the breathtaking vistas that unfold before you. The floor-to-ceiling windows wrap around the deck, providing a 360-degree view that showcases Melbourne's dynamic skyline, stunning architecture, and natural beauty. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the distant mountain ranges, the shimmering waters of Port Phillip Bay, and the picturesque Yarra River snaking through the heart of the city.
One of the Skydeck's most unique features is "The Edge," an exhilarating glass cube that extends from the building's edge, suspending visitors 88 floors above the ground. Stepping into The Edge is not for the faint of heart, as the glass walls and floor allow you to peer straight down, offering a spine-tingling experience that combines excitement and vertigo. As you stand in the cube, the sprawling cityscape unfolds beneath your feet, creating a sensation of floating above the vibrant metropolis.
Melbourne streets
#celebratewithtrip
after the Melbourne central , there is also some streets which is something like their central business district area where you can see many people working and in work attire. below there’s also a quay and many restaurants and bars near the office towers. there is also crown casino and there are hotel nearby as well. walk further and you can visit the eureka sky deck but do take note that entrance fee applies for this activity. overall the streets are quite cool and filled with people during peak hours as they knock off from work. but there are also buskers around here. quite a nice place to just take a look and admire the views.
lunch with a view

National Gallery of Victoria
I have been to the national gallery of Victoria with my friend recently. I really love the arts of the Australian Art Gallery. The NGV got an update an since it is a wonderful cultral part of ol' Melbourne town.
The KAWS exhibition, themed around "companionship in the age of loneliness", focuses on the emotional appeal of artwork. Held in the widely respected National Gallery of Victoria, it consists of four themes: 1. Public Interventions, 2. Iconography, 3. Order and Chaos, and 4. Companionship.

Shrine of Remembrance
an architectural building that was built as remembrance of the war, in other word the shrine of remembrance is a war memorial in melbourne. We did not have any plan to visit this place but it is on the way to Royal botanical garden Victoria and thus we make a quick stop to look at the building and take a quick break. The only thing I found was the spectacular view of city from the top of the stairs of this building. I would recommend anyone to go around Sunset time to take a good photo of melbourne city.

this is a war memorial and there are so many interesting things to read and look around regarding the past wars. great to learn more about the history of Australia and also understand what happened in the past. highly recommended activity.
in there you will also find a small store where they sell different souvenirs and all. there were bears and all which were very cute soft toys and also some books and reflection on the war and all. it seems very interesting and they also sell coffee here by the way if you are in need of a drink.
