Hohenklingen Castle Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The Hohen Klingen Castle was built in 1225 and stands on the forested hills on the north side of Stein am Rhein. It can be seen from any open place in the town. It has rarely been attacked and destroyed by war in history, so it was completely preserved today.
From the opposite side of the ancient city of Stein, climb through the village to the top of the mountain, step by step along the way. Walking in the quiet mountain road, I feel that even if I am tired and panting, my mood is pleasant. The
castle is 200 meters above sea level and stands here overlooking the beautiful panorama. It is both a castle and a recommended restaurant, and the town is known as the Top of Stein am Rhein, adding a new and lively chapter to Stein's rich history.

When writing this note, I couldn't suppress my love for it, I really want to revisit it again ❤️.
Stein am Rhein is located in the northeast of Switzerland, near the borders of Germany and Austria. It is situated on the famous Rhine River and is one of the most beautiful and historic towns in Switzerland. This town was established in the mid-13th century and is known as the most beautiful medieval town.
📍Transportation: Take a train from Zurich for one hour and twenty minutes to reach Stein.
The town of Stein am Rhein preserves many medieval buildings, among which the most famous is its arched bridge tower (Hohenklingen Bridge), which spans the Rhine River and is the landmark of the town. In addition, there are magnificent manors and castles, as well as many beautiful half-timbered buildings with stunning decorations, which are overwhelming.
The town of Stein is also known for its rich culture and historical heritage. Visitors can visit museums, churches, and galleries in the town to gain a deeper understanding of its history and culture.
📝 Tips: With the Swiss Travel Pass, you can visit museums for free.
Take half a day to tour this small town with a strong medieval style. Order a cup of coffee and a piece of cake at the dessert shop, and sit at the door of the shop like a local, enjoying the slowed-down time.
