Originally, I just needed a hotel outside the city center between London and Manchester because I was worried about driving the whole way after getting off an intercontinental flight. I didn't expect to accidentally stay at The Belfry, a golf resort dating back to the 13th century with a strong British atmosphere. The hotel is located in Wishaw, Warwickshire, about 8 miles from Birmingham city center, and features over 300 rooms, as well as restaurants, bars, meeting rooms, a spa, and more. But most importantly, the hotel boasts three golf courses, including the world-class The Brabazon and PGA National. It has hosted the Ryder Cup four times, making it the venue that has hosted the Ryder Cup more times than any other in the world. It has also hosted countless European Tour events. You can see plenty of history related to this in the hotel's public areas. Although I didn't have time to experience golf on such a professional course, waking up early in the morning and walking along the British-style country paths in the sunshine and breeze was truly comfortable.

I visited Sutton Park and the nearby town via the number 5 bus from West Bromwich. The journey only took around 50 minutes or so. There's plenty of Wildlife here on a Sunny day, including wild Rabbits, many species of birds, butterflies, and even Wild Horses that live in the Fields. There's also a skatepark nearby if you're into that type of thing. It's a huge park to explore and i believe one of the largest in Europe in terms of walking potential. I stopped and had a picnic, as well as a casual stroll. I'll definitely be returning here in future 😎👍

A beautiful and peaceful national nature reserve with seven lakes, woodland, and wide open fields. It has a gate, the town gate, that can be walked from the town centre in under ten minutes. Even on an extremely sunny Saturday I went long moments without seeing another person. The park dates back to the medieval period and there are sign posts to point out key historical features. There’s a model aircraft field and club, and many charity runs, walks and cycling events. There are plenty of tarmac paths for those with little ones in push chairs, or wheelchair users. But also of track trails. At the visitor center you can scan a QR code and download a free, colour map, as seen in pictures.
