🛒Markets You Must Visit in Phnom Penh!
#wecreate
Your visit to Cambodia isn’t complete until you visit at least one Phnom Penh markets. Whether you’re looking for souvenirs, food, discounted clothing, or local handicrafts – they have everything. The best part is that no matter where you are, they’re just a short tuk tuk ride away!
1. Russian Market - Toul Tom Poung Market is the go-to stop for souvenirs, knock-offs, and discounted clothes.
2. Central Market is located under a large central dome, one of the most famous landmarks in Phnom Penh. It is the most foreigner friendly market in the city, with decent cleanliness and English, but it’s the most overpriced. Be ready to bargain hard!
3. Orussey Market is sort of the local market, where most things are sold in bulk. You won’t find many tourists here so it is not a good place to find your souvenirs and English is not common. But if you’re looking for clothes, household goods, fabric or electronics, it's an eye opening place to visit.
4. Boueng Keng Kang Market is smaller yet bustling morning market with a labyrinth of stalls selling the usual offerings like household goods, electronics, and especially fashion items.
5. Phnom Penh Night Market is my favourite place to shop! It is a busy night market with stalls offering fabrics, jewelry & crafts and Khmer street food at a reasonable price.

Paulaner Christmas Markets
#2023travelwish
China isn’t one to overly celebrate Christmas except for in the big cities. This year Shanghai will hold multiple markets but this was the first to begin. Located at Raffles City, Changning District, it’s set back from the main road in the German restaurant area of Paulaner. Tickets cost 50RMB but this is transferable inside to food or drink. Many handmade items are available and the weekend sees it busy and bustling.

Phnom Penh Central Market
Address📍: Kamet St. (53), Phnom Penh
Famous for 😎: its visually striking dome and architecture, especially from a helicopter view;
landmark of Cambodia- built in 1937; 26 meters tall, many jewelleries and souvenirs inside for both tourists and locals to choose from
Tourist spots nearby 👀:
🛍️ Sorya Shopping Centre - 3 minutes walk
🏛️ Sosoro Preah Srey Icanavrman (Cambodia Museum of Economy and Money) - 14 minutes walk
🍢 Phom Penh Night Market - 15 minutes walk
🎡 Wat Phnom Daun Penh (ferris wheel for overseeing city view) - 16 minutes walk
Experience 🤓: overall things are cheap with good value for money, but the shops in the Central Market are experienced dealing with tourists, so most things are tourist price as well. You need haggling with the sellers for sure for better price.#celebratewithtrip #cambodia #phnompenh #markets

Sydney Harbour front
The waters of Australia are beautiful - there are a lot to do near the harbour front, from simply enjoying the seaview and breeze to visiting the Australian Maritime Museum to eating seafood at the Australian Fish Market. As an island country, the sea contributes a lot to what the locals eat and do. The yachts are cool to spend a day on also! #sydney #seafood #markets

Bustling KL markets
Kuala Lumpur is a hodgepodge mix of both the modern and the traditional. Alongside towering skyscrapers, you can find smaller streets like these that continue the heritage and history of the city. These streets have markets that sell delicious authentic hawker food and interesting crafts.
Chinatown is especially recommended to check out as there is such a vibrant atmosphere there. However, if you don’t prefer crowds, you might want to avoid this area.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Carmel Market in Tel-Aviv
The Carmel Market (Hebrew: Shuk HaCarmel) has become a popular tourist attraction in the old center of Tel-Aviv in Israel. You can see, purchase and taste everything. 🥭🍊🌰🌯👕
Carmel Market is probably the most famous marketplace in Tel Aviv. Similar to other markets, it changed in recent years. You cannot only buy fruits and food: Bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and chef-owned food stalls are there as well.
📍 Carmel Market is in the Yafo part of Tel-Aviv in the South, between the beach and Florentine quarter, you can't miss it.

Riverside Markets, Brisbane (Australia)
Just a heads up, if you’re planning to visit Riverside Markets, do note that it is located at the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens, which is in the CBD area, and not the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, which is near Mount Coo-Tha.
You can enter the market from the corner of Albert Street and Alice Street via a very humble and unassuming entrance. While this market opens on Sundays from 8am to 3pm, its sister market, Kelvin Grove Village Market, run by the same organizers opens on Saturdays from 6am to 1pm.
Despite the unique products and food, they were a tad too pricey and the atmosphere just didn’t feel very vibrant or happening, maybe because there weren’t many people and stalls to begin with (we finished browsing the whole stretch in about 10 minutes).
My overall rating of the experience: 3 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets
Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets opened for business on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 5pm when we visited.
What I really like about the markets here in Australia is that a large number of these vendors actually make the products they sell. They aren’t mass-produced or bought at a cheaper price somewhere else and resold in bulk for a higher price.
Although we didn’t make many purchases either because of the prices or the practicality of the items, the amount of skill and effort that was put on display and on sale at this market was a joy for me to experience. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and I was pretty disappointed when we reached the end of the market stalls. Plus points for being conveniently located at Surfers Paradise and right next to the lovely beach.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic Fremantle-must go in Australia
#fremantle in #westernaustralia is a must-go destination if you are in #perth for a #holiday!
Just minutes away and accessible by train, bus or car, it has everything from #markets for fresh or local produce and goods, to #historicallandmarks to great #food and drinks. It is a compact little town which is easy to get around. It is extremely scenic too!
Fans of Fremantle will know it is famous for its fish and chips like Cicerellos and Kallis, and there is also Little Creatures brewery nearby, all within walking distance of the waterfront and pier.

The Adventures Feet Malawi Aussie delicacies
Australia has all sorts of street stalls, food markets and restaurants for satisfying your palates of different parts. I love the presentation, the various styles of cooking and of course the taste of their food and coffee! I recommend the seafood markets near the harbour and just any coffee shop. Where the seagulls are active tells you where to find your food! #sydney #seafood #markets
Brisbane Night Market, Rocklea (Brisbane)
I found out about Brisbane Night Market in my quest to explore the markets across Brisbane! This one opens every Friday from 4pm to 10pm, and the same organizers also run the Saturday Fresh Market and the Sunday Discovery Market at the same location. It did take quite a bit of time to travel out here by public transport from the city centre though, so do budget enough time for your commute.
As the market was completely undercover, we didn’t need to worry about it suddenly raining. However, because of this same reason, it was also terribly hot and stuffy inside (probably due to the heat build-up from all the lights and cooking in the venue). Might have been better to visit during a season other than summer.
Of all the markets I’ve ever been to, this was the first one that imposed an entry fee of $2.50 per person. Affordable, but unusual. Majority of the stalls here were selling food, and the few shopping stalls that lined the sides near the entrance weren’t selling anything particularly interesting so that was a bummer. Towards the back, there were numerous food trucks selling a wide variety of cuisines: Thai food, Japanese food, Spanish food, French desserts and even Hungarian food. However, I didn’t know the focus would be so heavily on food, was hoping for more shopping stalls.
My overall rating of the experience: 3 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️
