Hiking on the wild Panlongshan Great Wall
Before coming to China, in my imaginary the Great Wall was a half broken brick wall, with Mother Nature reconquering her land again destroying and sneaking in between the slips eroded by the wind and time.
Well... my first trip on the Great Wall was in the Waterside Great Wall, a proper park where the wall and the towers were all renovated and new and intact. Not very like the image I built in my mind 🤷♀️. Still a nice trip, very family friendly.
Then some friends suggested us to hike on the Panlongshan Great Wall (蟠龙山长城) . It was EXACTLY how I imagined it years before! 😚
It's more less 140 km from Beijing city center, and the entrance fee is 33 RMB.
It was a very nice hike, not too difficult.
The towers are a perfect spot for a spring/summer picnic 🧺!
I can only image how amazing it could be in autumn during the change of the season with all the multicolored leaves 🍂
(going down the wall we saw some kids learning the dragon dance, they were having so much fun ❤️ it was a really warming scene)
