Castelnaud-la-Chapelle Castle 🏰
Castelnaud-la-Chapelle Castle, perched proudly above the Dordogne River in France, is a medieval marvel that left me captivated. This imposing fortress, dating back to the 12th century, is a testament to the region's rich history.
Exploring its well-preserved walls, towers, and courtyard felt like stepping into a knight's tale. The castle's interior showcases a remarkable collection of medieval weaponry and armor, offering a vivid glimpse into the past.
What sets Castelnaud-la-Chapelle Castle apart is its strategic location, providing breathtaking views of the picturesque Dordogne Valley and the neighboring Château de Beynac. The surrounding countryside is equally enchanting.
The castle is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the medieval charm of the Dordogne region. It's a place where history and natural beauty come together to create a truly unforgettable experience. #castle #france #history

The Perfect Paris City Walk 🇫🇷🚶♀️⛴️
When I was in Paris in June, my sister and I walked along the pedestrianised path along the Seine. It is definitely the scenic Paris City Walk.
As the Seine passes through all the landmarks in Paris, e.g. the Louvre and the Effiel Tower, it gives us a lot of pleasure. The Seine definitely adds to the vitality of Paris and makes Paris so charming.
Many would suggest doing a boat tour but since I had already done one when I first visited in 2014, I skipped on that this time.
Be sure not to miss out on the shops along the Seine. They may be tourist traps but the prints and magnets that the stores are selling really encapsulates the charming city, that is Paris; and it makes them perfect souvenirs.

My fav village on the french riveria 😍🇫🇷😍🌵🍀🌴🌿
Èze village is a charming small town on the french riveria that is up on the hill, therefore it is a bit tricky to get to by train.
You will have to either uber, hike or bus from the eze train station. The bus stop is always crowded and the bus does not run very frequently. For ubers, we called one but the driver tried to rip us off and said he has to charge more when he arrived. As for hiking, I would not recommend hiking up since the French sun is a killer ☀️…
If you are coming from Nice, I would hands down recommend taking the buses 82 or 112 and the journey would take you approx 30 minutes.
Although èze is more difficult to get to as compared with the other cities on the french riveria, you should not miss out on visiting it!!!
In the heart of èze is a botanical garden called Le Jardin Exotique. Definitely would recommend visiting because the views is GOD SENT. It is advised to get tickets at the machine at the beginning of the slope and not at the ticket office, so that you wouldn’t have to queue!!!

BEACH CLUB IN ANTIBES 🇫🇷😍⛱️👙
We travelled to Antibes on a Sunday and every beach club was so crowded 😮!!! We made the mistake of not making any reservations at the beach clubs.
We were lucky that Yolo Plage has four exact sun beds that are free and is reasonably priced. And the staff are very nice and accommodating.
Everything at Yolo Plage is amazing, from the drinks (get the Hugo Spritz!!), ambience and vibes. Beach and water is clean. The water is slightly chilly which is perfect because we were walking and tanning under the sun ☀️ for too long.
While we were swimming, we saw two swans 🦢 which caught us all in a surprise haha!!
We spent half the day at Yolo Plage and managed to catch the sunset 🌅😍
L' Effet Mer Plage, a tiktok famous beach club was our first choice but they tried to overcharge us 😒 Would not recommend you to go, instead head to Yolo Plage!!

A paradise on earth 😍🇫🇷🏞️
To get to Parc national des Calanques, there are 2 ways, 1) by public transport + hiking or 2) by car.
My friends and I weren’t really feeling the French sun so we called an uber from Gare de Marseille-Saint-Charles directly to Parc national des Calanques, we did zero hiking. I don’t recall the uber being super expensive because we split 4-ways, so definitely consider this option as it saves you time and energy.
Parc national des Calanques is indeed paradise on earth, I have never witnessed something so pretty 😍 I’m so lucky my friends and I have decided to come to this place!!! Similar with other beaches, the water is quite chilly so my strategy was to tan 30 minutes on the beach and then get into the water.
My friend is obsessed with water sports. She was talking to this really friendly couple and they agreed to let us use their paddle board. It was my first time paddle boarding and we had so much fun!!!

A park in the heart of paris 🇫🇷😍⛲️
Tuileries Garden is located right next to the Louvre so it was quite crowded when I visited. Nonetheless, the garden is quite well maintained, pretty and definitely picturesque.
I love how the garden provides free chairs around the fountain so you can chill with your friends and people-watch. One of the different thing I have observed is that French people love sailing toy boats in water foundations, this is definitely something I wish to see in Hong Kong!!
My friends and I definitely had a lovely time chilling at Tuileries Garden

Beach Club in Menton — the town of lemons 🍋🇫🇷😍
My friends and I visited the beach club on a weekday in June and was quite empty. We had the luxury of choosing the best seats in the club!! 😍 Out of all the beach clubs we went to, this one is the prettiest one!!
Contrary to the reviews I have read online, the staff are very hospitable and accommodating. Perhaps because the beach club was quite empty and we had all their attention(?)
The beach and water is nice and clean but the water is slightly chilly, the food and drinks options are extensive and yum. However, do note that the beach club is on the expensive end of the spectrum, everything (beds, towels, food and drinks) costs us around €70 per person, and we are a group of four people…

Pebbly Beach in Nice, France 🇫🇷
This beach definitely CHANGED my perception about beaches because why are beaches pebbly in old nice???
I made the mistake of not wearing a pair of waterproof, closed toes shoes on this trip and it was tricky getting into / getting out of the water because my feet was stuck in the pebbles and it hurts just walking on the pebbles.
I visited during June and the water was still quite chilly but anyhow we rented sun beds from Hôtel Amour Beach and got a bottle of rose 🍷 to enjoy in the sun ☀️

Personalise your own perfume scent in Grasse
Grasse is also known as the “Perfume Capital”, it is a town known for its established parfum industry. There are 3 large perfumeries based in Grasse 1) Fragonard 2) Molinard and 3) Galimard.
We have chosen to join the parfum workshop organised by Galimard and it costs €58.
Galimard provides 3 workshops daily at 10am, 2pm and 4pm; and in 4 different languages, English, French, German and Italian.
The workshop itself is so fun!!! We told that each perfume are formed by 3 different layers: base note, heart note and top note. And we have to build our base, then heart and finish with the top note.
There are more than a hundred different scents for all the notes combined and it was difficult for me to pick and choose!
We were told not to smell directly from the bottle because of the strong alcohol content, and instead we should smell the scent by waving it around our nose in order not to numb our sinuses. And luckily, I walked out of the workshop without a numb sinus 😂

When in Cannes… of course I had to snap a picture with the big “Cannes” sign 😍
The sign is up on a mini hill that overlooks Cannes which makes it the perfect viewpoint of the port of Cannes!!! It is free to visit the sign so I would definitely recommend.
Next to the sign, you can find Château de la Castre (there is an entrance fee) and a little garden with is very picturesque and pretty.
I believe there are two ways to get there:
2) By Bus
Cannes is honestly not that massive so I did not bother exploring the transportation system and got around everywhere by foot. However, be warned, the slope up is slightly steep!!

A romantic bridge in Annecy 🇫🇷😍🌁
Pont des Amours can be translated into “Love Bridge” in english. It is indeed a very romantic bridge with love locks, overlooking the Swiss alps. I always question why did I visit with my sister and not my boyfriend 🙄
It is hard to miss Pont des Amours when you are in Annecy because it is along the shores of the lake of Annecy. I went to Annecy with no agenda and barely opened by google maps and I found myself stumbling across this bridge randomly!!

A must see landmark in Lyon 🇫🇷⛪️🔔
The Basilica is located on the Fouvrière hill, overlooking Lyon and there are 3 ways to get there:
1) To take the tram from Vieux Lyon to Fourvière
2) Hike (~18 mins on foot)
3) By car (~4 mins)
I took the 1st option going up and the 2nd option down. I would definitely recommend taking the tram because the tram itself is another attraction in lyon (much like the peak tram in HK).
The Basilica is a majestic architecture with both outstanding interior and exterior design. It is definitely worth visiting.

cannot get enough of parks & gardens in paris 🇫🇷⛲️🎶
I went to Le Grand Véfour for dinner (yes, the restaurant starred in Emily in Paris) and was feeling very full so my friends and I decided to walk around and we stumbled across this park randomly.
Palais Royal is definitely one of my favourite parks in Paris, it is clean, less crowded than other parks like Jardin du Luxembourg; and I would say it is equally pretty, if not even prettier!! 😍
When we were there, we were able to catch the sunset and also a mini classical musical 🎶. Palais Royal is definitely the perfect place to wine down after an entire day of exploring the city.

Arc de Triomphe is better at night 🇫🇷
I have been to paris and visited arc de triomphe before but never did i realised:
NO. 1 it is so much prettier at night
NO. 2 the police would clear the roads for a few minutes (meaning no cars) and allow tourists to snap all the pics they want
NO. 3 there is a flight of stairs down underground that allow you to cross the road and visit the arc de triomphe up close!!!! I would highly recommend you to do so if you are visiting since it is free
NO. 4 the celine triomphe logo is the same as the logo displayed on the chain around the arc de triomphe (see pic 5)
I intended to go up the arc de triomphe but was too late!! Next time I will be back!!

Underground Museim In Albert, France
#historic #historical #museum #france #worldwar1 #history #educational
Many of us were not involved in War World 1 which happened during the early 1900(1914-1918). For educational purposes, if you are visiting Albert In Somme, France you should visit the Somme 1916 Museum where this is an underground museum on how the soldiers love their life during the world war one.
There are some artifacts left behind by the war being showcase, old guns and bonnet, soldiers uniform, food trays and many other weapons that we do not use anymore in the modern days. This is one iconic museum as it is located in the tunnel. Along some of the areas, especially when the lights are dimmed, you can feel abit errie.
If you are interested, do get your tickets on trip.com as getting on site is abit more expensive.
