Venice is a vibe ❤️
Venice, the city of love. After a few days there I can totally understand how it got this name. You will find yourself sitting at a cafe on the canals pinching yourself and wondering if this is real. It is truly a magical place, full of love, fun and laughter. Every where you look there are smiles and love was definitely in the air. The food was amazing and the service even better. There is something for everyone and this city should be on everyone’s must visit list. #couplestrip #deliciousfood #venice

Shopping Spree in Venice@Italy
Shopping in Venice or Venezia which is also known as the “City of Canals” is seriously a new experience for first-time-to-Italy visitor like me. Exploring around Piazza San Marco and the narrow streets are really eyes opening. There are lots of amazing designer stores and restaurants with so much choices to choose; the clothes, bags, local foods, souvenirs and beauty products. What’s more, I can even have tax refund for the items that I bought back to Malaysia. How not to fell in love with Venice?😁😁😁

Venetian Lagoons
I took a day trip to Venice via train from Florence, and since I had very limited time to see the sites, I took a hop-on-hop-off boat tour. The tour has two lines with various stops, and I enjoyed the scenic views from the water and appreciated the audio guide explaining the history of the lagoons and the major landmarks around Venice. I did step off at points to get a better look at Rialto Bridge and St. Mark’s Square and see the little gandolas going down the canals. It may have been worthwhile to stay a night and see the city lit up and the night-scene, but I think 1-2 days in Venice is sufficient to see the main attractions.

St Mark’s Square - Venice, Italy
Commonly also known as Piazza San Marco, is the main square located in the heart of Venice, Italy. It’s one of the most famous & visited attractions in the city, known for its stunning architecture & historical significance.
The square is surrounded by several notable buildings including St. Mark’s Basilica, Doge’s Palace, and the Procuratie Vecchie and Nuove buildings.
St Mark’s Square has played an important role in Venetian history & culture, which served as a gathering place for political rallies, religious festivals and cultural events.
The square is also a famous location to get flooded when the tide gets high, which happened during my trip to Venice. But overall, I would recommend you to visit this square, and explore the nearby buildings, museums and galleries.

Bridge of Sighs - Venice, Italy
The Bridge of Sighs is a famous landmark in Venice, Italy, built in the 17th century.
It connects the Doge's Palace to the city's prison, it was named after the sighs of prisoners who, according to legend, would take one last breath of the free air before being locked up forever.
The bridge is made of white limestone and features beautiful Baroque architecture. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction & symbol of the city's history and culture.
You can buy tickets & cross the bridge when you explore the Doge's Palace, which was once the seat of power in Venice & now houses a museum.

Burano - Venice, Italy
Burano is a small & colourful island located in the Venetian Lagoon. The island is famous for its picturesque canals, brightly painted houses & lace-making tradition.
The island’s history dates back to the 6th century when it was settled by people fleeing barbarian invasions on the mainland.
The colourful houses are painted due to a legend saying that the different colours help fisherman find their way home in the fog.
I would highly recommend a half-day trip to Burano, to better understand the culture & history of it. Burano is a short boat ride away from Venice, Italy.

A sense of luxury in Venice
Venice is no doubt one of the most romantic cities in the world. When it comes to accommodation, it can become challenging to choose the best area to stay and the best hotel. Luckily, I found one of the best luxury options to stay in Venice, which is no other than Hotel Santa Chiara.
I stayed in a Deluxe City View room, which was really clean and beautifully furnished, with a rustic touch. It's located in Santa Croce district, really close to the bus station, which gets you anywhere in the city, and only a convenient direct bus ride from the airport.
There are also plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops nearby.
The staff was really kind and they helped us with anything we asked (even with a technical issue we were facing). The highlight of the hotel is the rooftop, which offers breathtaking 360 views of Venice! It exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it for your stay in Venice!

The city with 400 bridges - Venice, Italy
Venice is an intricately built city with canal upon canal interwoven with another, getting from one side to the other means crossing bridge upon bridge. DID YOU KNOW that Venice has about 400 bridges, crazy right 😱 BUT only 4 of those bridges cross the Grand Canal and this is one of the bridges. 1. “Ponte degli Scalzi” is located near Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia and Piazzale Roma 🌁
2. Ponte dell’Accademia near the Gallerie dell’Accademia;
3. Ponte di Calatrava a Venezia (officially “Ponte della Costituzione”); and
4. The oldest, grandest, and most famous of them all — the Rialto Bridge.

Burano is a small, attractive island in the Venice Lagoon, in the North of Italy. one of the prettiest towns in Italy and its unique canals and its colorful houses that make the island a real rainbow of colors.
Burano is famous for the artisan production of lace. Burano is the birth place of Buranelli Biscuits, usually a hit with kids especially and a treat worth tasting, especially on a cold day, accompanying a cup of coffee.

Venice is always a good idea
🎭 W E L C O M E T O V E N I C E 🚤 - Sharing some fun facts I learned about Venice:
1. Venice is shaped like a fish (Yes, you read that right. Don’t believe me - head over to Google and check out the aerial view)!
2. Venice is sinking - yes, I’m sure most of us know this more well known fact, but did you know that the Italian government has been trying to prevent Venice from sinking since 1973.
3. The local population of Venice is lessening by the year. 30 years ago there were 120,000 locals compared the to current 60,000 or so at the moment. Experts say that by 2030 the true locals could actually all disappear. Okay, I think I’ve just convinced myself that I should follow my Grandmother’s Italian roots and move to Venice and become a Venetian.
4. Venetian’s speak their own language that is not considered to be a dialect of Italian.
5. Venice ruled itself for 1,100 years and apparently the island of Crete and Cyprus were also under it’s rule for some time.

Just like a painting...
Location: Venice, northern Italy
Getting there: Flight to the international airport at Venice or get a train from international hub Milan.
We took the train from Zurich to Milan and then Milan to Venice. We stayed one night and two days in Venice and it was a totally unique experience. The boat rides are mesmerising both in day and in night. The small streets have views of the boats and the magnificent church buildings and old style architecture.
Tip: Definitely get up for the sunrise and walk to any bridge to see the sun peeping up behind the buildings and give you an orange sky.

Grazie Mille Venezia!
There is nowhere quite like magical Venice!
If you've ever wondered where all those renaissance painters got their inspiration from, fly into Venice early in the morning and get the boat over to the island. Arriving with the morning glow over Venice explains everything. It's a wonder to see and transports you back in time!
Getting around is super easy! You can wander the streets, getting lost down tiny alleys which suddenly open up into big squares is such a wonderful adventure! But if you want to travel over to Murano etc is super easy, just download the travel app, pay before you board and away you go!
Venice is magical place which is super easy to get to and get around! It should be on everyone's bucket list as there no place quite like it!

A touch of Eastern Europe
Venice Town in Shanghai
The Venice town in Shanghai is indeed the Europe of China . The buildings are European style and are a great imitation of the actual place. The town is under renovation this period so I wasn’t able to experience the full glamour . The river has also been drained but I think in a few months it would be returned to its original state. At this time there are few people visiting and there’s a mall next to it .

Venice Carnival
I was always dreaming to visit Venice carnival which is always going in February
and this year very accidentally I found myself in Venice at 4th of February
There are high spots like the Balls, the Grand opening and closing ceremonies - but I went with my camera to capture the spirit. People appear in full costume with/without masks as you wander through the streets and canals. Others capture this on cameras. There are photo shoots- very early in the morning - and it seems to be by word of mouth where other shoots take place. Most times it was fun but - amateurs pretending to be paparazzi saw a few scuffles break out!! "Before breakfast "I thought!! A lot of action takes place in St Mark's Square at night - the collonades are lit with cascades of light, there is a centre stage and everything is alive. It's very surreal, fantastic and I am.very glad I have experienced it. Maybe one year I shall take a costume, buy a mask and wander the streets to be photographed and adored!
It was great experience and I definitely recommend you to try it next year. Just remember that it’s really freezing in Venice that time #mytripvlog #venice #carnival

Venice is sinking - so visit while you can! We went on a spontaneous day trip whilst visiting Trieste to Venice as the train journey between the two cities was only two hours and around 16 euro. We had 6 hours to explore before our next trip which was the perfect amount of time to wander around the right streets and discover the picturesque canals.
If you can, try the delicious local cannoli then that is a must do on your prop around the sinking city.

Venice memorable landmarks
We have visited Venice in a day. Possible?
Sure! And much more convenient than staying longer.
Venice is quiet expensive and everything is overcharged. One day is enough to wonder around the city.. and if you want to make it in two or more days you can stay in a hotel outside Venice and reach the turistic town with a train and go back in the evening.
there are public ferry boats to move around and try to avoid gondola experience to save some money! 😉

Dinner at Rossopomodoro Venezia San Marco
Such a fabulous dinner in Venice. This restaurant serves the best handmade Italian pizzas and pastas. We ordered the Margarita Pizza and Mushrooms & Ham Pasta, so tasty! This is the best pizza I have ever had. They use the traditional oven and wood to bake. The pasta was handmade with a perfect texture. Superb! There are also vegan options. You may need to wait for a while for the food to be served as the restaurant is usually crowded. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It is located near Piazza San Marco. Highly recommended. I will be back if I visit Venice again.

We booked this hotel because of its strategic location in the centre of Venice. It is within short walking distance to St. Mark's Square, Bridge of Sighs, restaurants, and other attractions. At night, we can walk around the area safely. The decorations and designs of the room were so classy and beautiful. I like the breakfast served in the room, more privacy and we can enjoy the breakfast anytime at our own pace. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I like everything about this hotel. Highly recommended.
