Adventure at the PYRAMIDS of GIZA!
With 1 full day in Cairo, of course the pyramids are my first stop. Oh & picture or it didn’t happen!
The pyramids are located 15km from the city center of Cairo. If you think they look impressive in photographs, wait till you’re standing at the foot of one of the pyramids!
Business Hours: 7:00 - 18:00
Arrive early to purchase your ticket (starting at $10)
Be prepared to spend at least 3 hours inside.
Recommended visiting time: October to March (Winter)
Once inside you can see the Pyramid of Khufu, Pyramid of Khafre, The Great Sphinx, Pyramid of Menkaure, Cemeteries, Tombs and Temples. There is A LOT to see, learn and photograph.
Activities available inside are quad biking, horse riding, Camel rides, guided tours etc.. carry some $1 notes for tipping if that’s your thing.
There are many souvenir stores all around the place but you will need to know how to bargain because the prices are hiked up as it is a tourist spot.
Recommendation: go inside (walk) see all you need to see then save the activities for the end. Wear sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses for your own health and safety.
Once done, we went over to a local family restaurant and tried some local cuisine namely: Koshary. It’s a must try!

Cairo city gems !
Cairo is filled with so much in one city ! Of course you need to see the great #Pyramids of Giza ! Book a small hotel across from them for the best view. I stayed at the Egypt pyramids Inn and enjoyed my stay. Make sure you have a local guide. They can customize much more for you and give you a more authentic experience. The new museum was really cool ! Be aware that as a tourist many of locals will invite you to shop, be clear about what you interested in buying so you don’t waste time being haggled into shopping. I went to the local perfume and oil shop and it was very nice but very expensive FYI. Overall there no place like Cairo ! #pyramidsofgiza #Cairo #egypt #Kingtut #historicallandmarks #solotravel

Are you one of those „kids“ that had the chance to see the pyramids only in the books or on TV? Or a desert only by watching „Aladdin“?
Well, in Cairo you can see it all!
Camel ride around the pyramids!
Mummies and antiquities in the Museums!
Something you didn’t know existed: White and Black desert… and you can also camp there !
Architecture as never seen before!
Belly dancers while on a dinner cruise on Nile!
My #1 trip just got dethroned by this trip to Cairo!!
P.S. No effects were used on the pictures

Wonders of Egypt
During our trip to Egypt; I found it very convenient to stay in the downtown Egypt area since most attractions are located in and around the area. The one downside to staying downtown is the locals that constantly bug you to buy something or give them some money. The downtown area isn’t all too developed so the first thought that came to mind was that it’s not safe, however, I still left with everything I went there with and I cannot say for sure that it’s the safest place but always be aware.
Since Egypt was really hot this July, I would also recommended booking one trip to a specific location a day, many places including the museums are really hot and it makes it uncomfortable to stand/walk around in the heat all day.

Walk like an Egyptian
I highly recommend going to the pyramids! They are so much better in person than in the photo! I went with a guide and he gave me such great insight on the history of the pyramids.
I went to the pyramids and rode a camel around, one thing with the camels. Please make sure you find a place that takes care of them! Some people don’t care about the camels health. I did research before picking the company. My tour guide had a camel that was part of his family and was deeply cared for.
One giant thing I recommend not doing: anything with a horse!! They treat the camels okay but they don’t really care for the horses. They are worked to hard and given barely any rest!

Madinat Habu Temple
WOW this temple is impressive and wasn't busy at all. It's less famous than the other temples, don't know why because it's a beautiful temple with the drawings on the columns and the statues standing tall. We almost missed one because we were tired after after the scorching heat at Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, so glad we stuck it out and went. Definitely a highlight on this trip for me.

Valley of the Kings and Temple of Queen Hatsheput
We started a packed tour in Luxor with our first stop at Valley of the Kings, The Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Amazing to see the detail of the drawings on the walls, it looks a couple of years old, amazing that they've preserved it so well over the years. Tour guides tell the story beforehand because they are not to talk and explain inside the temples, it helps that you know the story when you go in and see the story on the wall. Hasteput was scorching hot we were in and out under 30 minutes. I would say this was least impressive of all the temples we've seen in Luxor.

Perfect Hurghada Resort
The Imperial Resort Hurghada was the absolute perfect location from which to enjoy this magical corner of Egypt. The resort is clean, new, and has great facilities. The apartments are well designed and feel like a home away from home. The swimming pool is amazing, the restaurant serves delicious food at good prices, and the roof top bar was fabulous. There is even a small grocery store on site. However, the Imperial Resort is also smaller than other resorts and as such is more relaxed, quieter, more upmarket, and feels more exclusive. The front desk can arrange cheap travel to any attraction or destination you wish to visit.#imperialresorthurghada #hurghada #egypt #redsea

Aswan, Abu Simbel, Sharm-El-Sheikh
Egypt Part 2
This country has too much to see and too little time for everything!
Breathtaking views, nature and UNESCO sites to see.
Aswan has the beautiful Nile River that you can enjoy by felucca ride or motorboat. Take a trip to the Nubian Village to see the colorful houses and restaurants, walk through the market and smell the different spice. The people of the Nubian Village are so friendly. Eat lunch or dinner at one of the restaurants, you won't regret it the food is fresh and tasty. Something that we regret was not sleeping there for a night that would've been great.
We went to see the UNESCO site Abu Simbel that's a 3 and half hour ride from Aswan and 3 and half hours back but definitely worth it to go see, if you are not up for the ride there is a flight of 45 minutes that you can take as well.
After all the exploring and site seeing we were ready to chill and relax on the beach. We booked into a resort in Sharm-El-Sheikh that was all inclusive. Seeing the Red Se in all it's glory is breathtaking, it's so blue and clear. We had a wonderful time here; swimming, snorkeling, drinking and eating.
Go explore Egypt, you won't regret it!

TheTravelingSuitcase (@thetravelingsuitcasee) Abu Simbel Temple 🛕, Aswan, Egypt 🇪🇬
#wecreate
The Abu Simbel Temples in southern Egypt are a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for their grandeur and historical significance. Carved out of a mountainside, the temples feature colossal statues and intricate reliefs.
The complex consists of two main temples, the Great Temple of Ramses II standing at about 98 feet (30 meters) tall and the smaller Temple of Hathor dedicated to Ramses II's wife, Queen Nefertari
What makes the Temples particularly remarkable is the incredible engineering feat that took place in the 1960s during the construction of the Aswan High Dam and the resulting formation of Lake Nasser. To save the temples from being submerged, an international effort was undertaken to relocate the entire complex to higher ground, ensuring its preservation for future generations.

TheTravelingSuitcase (@thetravelingsuitcasee) One of the most amazing landscapes 😍
Stepping into a very different #Egypt. It felt like we were on another planet.
The White Desert use to be a large sea basin millions of years old. What's left are these massive concentrations of calcium that have eroded over time to create unique structures that are pure white in parts.
At night the animals come out to play, which is amazing considering how arid the land is - another lesson from #nature that it's all about adapting to thrive in life!
Searching in other areas will also give you the opportunity to find a range of fossils.

I LOVED THIS TEMPLE 😍
Philae Temple, Aswan Egypt.
When you can see the hieroglyphics from the boat, you know it's going to look great close up.
Philae Temple, in #Aswan #Egypt is a quick boat ride from the marina over to the island.
The temple itself use to be located a lot lower, but when the dam was built they moved it to higher ground so that visitors could still experience its wonders.
Love the cute kittens snoozing in the temple - but when has an animal never got me excited
For the cheapest method of getting there, catch a local bus for 5EGP (what an experience too) and then have a boat take you across and wait for you for 300EGP. If you wait for other travellers you can split the cost.

TheTravelingSuitcase (@thetravelingsuitcasee) some incredible landscape of Egypt
Egypt is often divided into two sections: Upper Egypt in the south and Lower Egypt in the north. The sections are named this way because the Nile flows from south to north. The river empties into the Mediterranean Sea.
Southern Egypt's landscape contains low mountains and desert. Northern Egypt has wide valleys near the Nile and desert to the east and west. North of Cairo, the capital, is the sprawling, triangular Nile River Delta. This fertile land is completely covered with farms.
