Everyday at around 12 noon, there will be a huge crowd around a clock in the middle of Vienna. That’s the Ankeruhr Clock. It is a Jugendstil mechanical clock built in 1914. Everyday at noon, there is a show
while music is being played for several minutes. I like this show very much because it’s the first time I saw a clock show. This is something very unique that you have to see when in Vienna.

It has only 111 inhabitants which are mostly farmers and an elevation of 1028 meters above sea level. In winter you can ski and in summer it is a hiking paradise (photo 18). The 7.2 kilometers long road from Dornbirn up there is narrow and has a lot of curves. Sometimes also quite steep and there are dark tunnels (photo 2&3). A real challenge for driving!
In the village itself there is not much to see but the views are so stunning! (Photo 1, 5-11) There is a church (photo 7) and some houses are beautifully decorated with flowers (19&20)

2D1N Trip to Hallstatt from Vienna
Embarked on a winter holiday to Austria! Started off with a 2D1N trip to the beautiful lake town of Hallstatt, driving from Vienna Airport after touch down.
Arrived at Hallstatt just in time for the last tour of the day for the salt mine. Do check out the website to look at the tour schedules while planning your trip. Took the funicular up and started the salt mine tour. I highly recommend the salt mine tour which is definitely value for money. The guide was great in explaining the history and process behind it. The highlights of the tour are the slides, the tram ride, the lights shows and the uniforms they provided us to give us an experience of being a salt miner. The viewing platform on top also provides great view of the Hallstatt town below which you get to see the serenity of the lake. Stayed at a town nearby Hallstatt as it is much cheaper, about 15mins drive.
Explored the town of Hallstatt the next morning, tip is to go early so there's less crowd for you to take photos. You can shop on your way back. Winter is a good time to visit Hallstatt as it is less crowded and Hallstatt does look nicer and exudes more charm during winter.
A must to visit when you are in Austria!

Visit the Belvedere palace for art
On my recent trip to Vienna, I went to the belvedere palace to admire the stunning art work. It used to be a palace for crown princes but now serves as an art gallery that houses Gustav Klimt's The Kiss.
There is an entry fee to visit the gallery, but visitors may wander round the gardens for free. It is conveniently located in the city centre near Karlsplatz.

A breathtaking journey through heavenly views in Hallstatt
My recent trip to Hallstatt was an incredible experience that allowed me to immerse myself in the beauty of nature. Even though there was no snow during my visit, the natural views were still mesmerizing. The crystal-clear lake, surrounded by lush green forests and towering mountains, was a breathtaking sight that left me in awe. The scenery was so serene that I found myself lost in thought, enjoying the peacefulness of the surroundings.
One of the highlights of my trip was watching the geese that reside in Hallstatt. These magnificent birds are a common sight in the area and add to the charm of the town. I was fascinated by their elegance and the way they interacted with each other. Watching them was a reminder of the importance of preserving the natural habitats of these beautiful creatures.

St. Peter's Abbey
Majestic art, paintings and ornaments.
There is absolutely nothing to complain about it.
And a very important tip for people travelling around on a budget. IT IS FREE.
But please, leave some spare change or make a good donation as the place is really well looked after.
You'll find graves of archbishops from the city close to the front of the cathedral and more downstairs.
Also places to pray, but if you are not religious like myself, there is no problem, everyone respects each other in a very peaceful way.

Mozart's Birthplace Salzburg
This is the place where the legendary Composer Wolfgangus Mozart was born. It is like a Museum with most of the details which says about Mozarts life history and upbringing. The entire house has speaker fitted at many places with Mozarts music being played.
The building was perfectly preserved. They make good use of the rooms to introduce and showcase Mozart's family home, family portraits, and general history about his family - but not too intensely in-depth.
The airflow isn't great, and the visitor numbers don't feel limited, so some rooms can get a bit crowded.
Overall a good overview of Mozart's life. If you're a fan, it's worth spending those extra 30 - 45 mins there :)
It is covered in Salzburg card.
It is a must visit place is Salzburg.

Fortress Hohensalzburg
Seeing a true middle ages castle, along with the lifestyle, customs and ruling of it is truly an amazing experience.
The castle features a lot of stuff: from sightseeing at the top of the keep tower, to how peasants were imprisoned in the dungeon and how the castle was built, history around it and a museum.
This has been a big dose of history for me, so for any enthusiasts out there looking to learn a bit of history during their trip, i totally recommend this place.
Lovely castle. Some steep stairs to climb but fantastic views. Museum is good it's just a shame you can't get to see more of the rooms in the castle given the number they have. Great historical demonstrations in the castle Square, especially for young children to see such as stone masons, singers, blacksmiths etc. It was very busy and difficult to get photos without members of the public on to share on here so apologies.

Mirabell Palace Austria
If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy some beautiful scenery, Mirabell Palace is a great option. The palace is located in the heart of Salzburg, Austria, and it has a stunning garden with fountains, statues, and flowers. You can also explore the historical rooms of the palace, where Mozart once performed. Mirabell Palace is a must-see for anyone who loves art, culture, and nature.
A magical place. A top five destination if you are in Salzburg this place is not to be missed. Mirabell is a woman's name from Italy, a compilation of two words: mirabile "admirable" and bella "beautiful".

vienna danube river side
In Vienna, the Danube is omnipresent – whether in the form of the Donau-Auen National Park or Old Danube, Danube Island or Danube Canal.
The 21 kilometer long Danube island is not only the favorite recreational region of the Viennese
It's the Donaukanal or Danube Canal (though it's best to think of it as a channel, not a canal). Technically, the Donaukanal is an arm of the Danube that forks off just after the latter enters the city in the northwest. The channel rejoins the Danube proper on the southeast side of town.
Surrounded by gardens, lawns, restaurants with terraces on the water, promenades with pedestrian and bicycle paths, the Old Danube draws swimmers, sailors, rowers, and surfers. You can choose between the offers of three sailing and surfing schools, eleven boat hire companies and four lidos. Tip: Rent a rowing, pedal or electric boat and experience a romantic boat picnic in the moonlight (e.g. from the boat rental point in the Hofbauer Marina - open daily until midnight in good weather). Maybe you would also like to spend an afternoon at the Gänsehäufel beach facility where two kilometers of beaches, a wave pool and athletic pool, playgrounds, cafés and a nudist area promise enjoyable hours of leisure.

There World history inside a museum
Few years ago while visiting Vienna I had the chance to stop by the museum of Ethnology and it was fantastic.
Part of its numbers just amazes me, over 400,000 objects from all over the world and even if some people complains about this, I believe that they are doing a great job taking care of them
