Changsha City Center and Botanical Garden
Changsha is a city located in Hunan Province in China. It’s famous for its spicy cuisine. If you go to the city center to Huangxing pedestrian street you can find a lot of restaurants, shops, and beautiful skyscrapers. The most famous is IFS. You can easily get there by subway “Wuyi Square” subway station. Another landmark is a botanical garden. It’s very beautiful, especially in spring when all the flowers are in blossom. I recommend to go there in the end of February, March and April. You can see there a lot of colorful roses of different kinds. It’s a nice place to take photos. Changsha also has some other places of interest such as HB Town, Yanghu Wetland Park, Orange Island etc. Don’t forget to visit these places to enjoy your holiday#Chinese #Changsha #botanical#ifs

Hunan - The Jewel of China
This summer, I travelled to Hunan Province, which was one of the most beautiful places I’ve been in the world. The trip started in the capital, Changsha. Orange Island is well worth a visit, but also try some stinky tofu and milk tea. Then I went to mountains that inspired the first Avatar movie in Zhangjiajie. Try staying at the glass hotel for a remarkable, one of a kind stay. Truly a speculator and breathtaking place! Finally, I went to Fenghuang, which was absolutely breathtaking. The mountains, the rivers, the forests, the people, and the food truly made Hunan an amazing adventure this summer break. #summerbreak #hunan #changsha #zhangjiajie #fenghuang #glasshotel
A day out in Changsha, Hunan
Changsha is the capital city in Hunan and it's known as the "star city" due to the many TV show celebrities and influencers who make content in the city.
The traditional sites of Orange Island or Yuelu Mountain will always be popular places to visit, but Changsha is also known for it's delicious snacks.
I highly recommend heading to the downtown area, near Wuyi Square. There you will find an abundance of spicy snacks and Hunan restaurants. Some of the best dishes include stinky tofu 臭豆腐 and spicy crayfish 小龙虾

Nice Flat-Hotel in Changsha
Aman Guesthouse in Changsha has very nice and spacious rooms for a fair price.
You have a small flat with huge bed, projector for movies and a nice bathtub. Super comfy. View around the area is also nice. You can enter the room with a door code, very convenient.
It's in the center of Changsha, so many restaurants and bars around. Definitely can recommend it.

Tasting Changsha's Famous Milktee
Chayanyuese (in Chinese 茶颜悦色) is Changsha's famous Milktee brand. Many of my colleges only travel to Changsha to drink their milktee.
How can it be that good? I went to try...
🧋 Chayanyuese is really everywhere in Changsha, they seem to have hundreds of shops. The tea is really high quality and very fresh. The toppings are creative, tasty and very special. You can also choose your tea, black, green or Oolong tea.
So the tea is really special, service is nice and price Ok (15-20RMB per drink).

Shaoshan village - famous red tourism spot
I mostly prefer natural beauty but at some point anything can be "too much" 🤭 So while my friend opted for Sichuan I decided to go to Changsha to avoid high risk areas - covid map was my main guide this summer 🙄
When I started learning about Changsha main tourist attractions, I found out that most of them relate to communist party, so I just grabbed the chance, as for me that was something new and special (in China) . From logistics and cost point of view I decided to join a Chinese tour (hoping my Chinese improved since last year🤞.. Not so much😔 but anyway it's possible with any Chinese level, depending on your other skills, experience and target)
As for my tour most of the time we spent in the house and museum of Liu Shaoqi (impressive) as it was similar to Mao Zedong's but less crowded. Afternoon we went to Mao Zedong's house and then to memorial park. The trip was exactly what I needed: good timing and logistics, all information in the museums was provided both in Chinese and English and I learnt a lot on the internet on the way, too.
In the evening I also went to an open air performance which was good. I stayed overnight and had a nice hike over rural area in the morning.
Another 2 great days in Hunan!
Just make sure you book return ticket in advance if you go on your own (especially holiday season)

Xiang River Walking 🇨🇳 Changsha
Changsha is such a nice city to visit. The people are friendly, the food tastes great and there are so many places to walk.
Most mornings and evenings we would walk down the river front prominade, enjoy the cities bright lights and clean walkways.
There are lots of attractions on the river front, but the prominade itself is perfect for an after dinner slow walk back to your hotel or for a late night whisky or cocktail. It was illuminated until late.
I'll head back to Changsha again in the future and I'll make sure I've got a riverside location even if it means being a little further out if the centre.

Dafujing Pavilion
A view of the north, south, east, west of Changsha City!
Dafujing Pavilion is on of the oldest buildings in Changsha build around Tang Dynasty. It’s build to commemorate the great poet Dafu of Tang Dynasty. You’ll find his poems on the third floor of the tower.
It’s hot on summer but when your at Dafujing you’ll feel the breeze at the tower bit windy and enjoy the view of Changsha also you can have tea at the fourth floor.
Entrance fee to Dafujing is 10RMB and the nearest metro station is Line 1 Nanmenkou Exit 1 or Line 3 Lingguandu Exit 3
Feel the wind blows!

Changsha Wonderland Street
If your into antique toy collection or missing your childhood toys, coke look around Jixiang Alley at Changsha. the street is full of stores selling antique toys, used clothes, bags and other collectibles.
I bought the “view master” it’s kinda cool to see your childhood toys go back to old memories! #themepark so the place is good for street urban photography as shops are covered with great painted designs with good lighting!
To get there the nearest metro is Wuyi Square Exit 7 then you have to walk 8 mins and best use your maps search “Jixiang Alley Changsha”

Changsha, Hunan, is the perfect place for a weekend getaway from south or central China.
Changsha has three highlights for me:
1. The food 🌶️
2. Hunan Provincial Museum 🏛️
3. The Yuelu Academy ⛩️
Hunanese food, 湘菜, is fiery hot and exquisitely flavoured. Numerous restaurants serve barbecue, beef cooked with chilli peppers and other local specialities. It's also famous for its streetfood, particularly Changsha stinky tofu (choudoufu). I'm not a big fan but many people rave about it. Just follow the odour of an open sewer to find some 😆
The Hunan Provincial Museum is excellent. The main exhibit is the treasures excavated from a Han Dynasty tomb discovered near Hunan, including thousands of well preserved grave goods. The prize attraction is a unique 'wet mummy', the body of the wife of a local ruler, which was enbalmed using a chemical process preserving the soft tissue (unlike Egyptian mummies, for example, which are dried out.) The museum entrance and main exhibits are free but some temporary exhibits require a ticket.
The Yuelu Academy (岳麓书院,Yuelu Shuyuan) is an ancient centre of higher learning. Dating back centuries, it became one of China's first modern universities, Hunan University. The original academy can be visited inside the Hunan University campus.
Finally, Changsha is notable for its most famous son, Mao Zedong, who was born in a village outside Changsha city (Shaoshan). Orange Island, a long low island in the Xiang River that flows through Changsha, is a pleasant park home to a massive statue of the handsome young Mao's head. He stares down the river as if looking into the future.
Orange Island is also the best place to appreciate Changsha's modern skyline, which is colourfully lit at night.🌃
On several main railway lines, Changsha is only a few hours from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan and other major cities.🚄

Huangxing road walking street
#dreamvoyage Walking through Changsha's busy pedestrian street was exciting. The street was lined with colorful shops and food stalls selling both traditional snacks and modern fashion items. I liked how the street mixed old and new things together. Huangxing road walking street showed the city's lively and changing nature. Exploring it was a fun experience that#Changsha #China

Since mini lobsters was one of the main things I wanted to eat, my friends brought me to try several places and this, Xia Xiao Long is one of the better ones. More expensive than the others, the portions shown are RMB199 each but it’s also fresher. We went late, like 9pm, which for most of the Chinese, is way past dinner time so we didn’t have to wait long to get a table although it still took quite awhile to serve all the dishes. #changsha #xiaolongxia #foodie #mala
