Jonker walk Night street Melaka 🇲🇾
#malaysiatrip
The Jonker Street Night Market is definitely the liveliest street market in Melaka! Located among the UNESCO Heritage Sites, it's a must-visit spot in Melaka 🌃. This weekend night market is a popular tourist attraction, open every Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 6pm till midnight 🌙.
Last weekend, I took 2 foreign buddies to Jonker Street, and boy, was it packed! We were slowly shuffling through the massive crowd. The night market is filled with tons of food stalls and eateries, a paradise for food lovers 🍲. You can also find shops selling souvenirs, handicrafts, local products, clothes, and accessories.
Additionally, along the street, you'll come across Clan ancestry halls, bars, cafes, massage centers, electronic stores, and convenience shops. After a long walk and satisfying our hunger, we enjoyed the local artists' performances on stage. It truly was a fantastic weekend night 🎶🌟.

BEST BIRYANI off JONKER STREET!
Lōu Kót Kafe is an amazing cafe/restaurant serving delicious biryani and drinks.
Their slogan “HAPPINESS IS BIRYANI & CHAI” says it all!
Great for a chilled chat and chai, fresh juice, or in my case lunch/dinner. This little cafe has character and truly scrumptious food. The menu is excellent and there are good vegetarian options also (see pic!).
There staff here are extremely friendly, so much so that it felt like walking into a neighbour’s house for a catch up.
The decoration is excellent, with clever chalk board signs with great quotes and sayings.
Don’t forgot to say hi to their colourful parrot before you leave#Parrot #Melaka 🦜

This restaurant is located right next to the very beautiful Arulmiku Poyyatha Vinayaga Moorthy Temple.
RIVER OASIS at Baba Kaya (Insta-worth!)
This cafe/restaurant is located right on the river with seating options outside, inside with doors open or in the cozy upstairs balcony.
The view is picturesque and place itself is quirky and fun with lots of little nooks and crannies to explore. Murals, fun slogans, and even a little cafe scene built into the wall, you’ll have a great time exploring.
The menu is great with a wide variety of items, including vegetarian options (as seen in photo). This is a great place to sit and watch the world go by while enjoying a tasty lunch.
The staff could not be more friendly and the service was great. I will definitely return.
Lunch price was very reasonable considering the location and views. For my food and a lemon and plum soda it cost 26.80 MYR after tax.

KOPI & KAYA!! Unmissable breakfast!
Calanthe Art Café
This beautiful cafe is full of charm and interesting finds. There are multiple seating areas in this cafe that all have their own unique decor. It is the perfect rest stop for a coffee/snack, a hearty breakfast, and even for lunch/dinner!
The menu is vast and includes Nyonya and western options. It also includes some vegetarian options for my fellow veggies out there.
The kaya toast and soft boiled eggs with soy came with a kopi (many options to choose from) and only cost me 12 MYR after tax.
When your finishes and fill, be sure to check out the shop attached sells beautiful jewellery and souvenirs.

AHHHHHH Wild Coriander 🌿 !!
What a treat!
While personally I am not a fan of coriander (cilantro), Wild Coriander in Melaka certainly has me considering otherwise!
There is a fantastic energy about this place from the moment you are greeted at the door to the time you say goodbye. The staff are all incredibly friendly and make you feel at home! I was dining alone, and there separate staff members came over to say hello and ask me how I was enjoying Melaka.
The interior of the restaurant is outstanding. With foliage inside this historic building that adds so much character and intrigue. The decor is really beautiful and it is certainly instagramable 😅
The menu here is excellent, with a wide range of Nyonya cuisine to choose from, including vegetarian 🌱
They have an extensive drinks menu and for those with a sweet tooth, a good selection of desserts to choose from.
I highly recommend a trip into the Wild! #nyonya #nyonyafood #melaka #foodie #malaysia #historicallandmarks #instagramworthydestinations #instatravel

#freehotelstay DoubleTree Melaka is within two kilometers of Old Town Melaka, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Jonker Walk. The winding Sungai Melaka and the Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum are about 10 minutes away…
The hotel is cosy and comfy with a kids club, an infinity pool, a sauna and steam room, and of course, as every DoubleTree hotel offers - a nice warm DoubleTree cookie upon check-in!!!
DoubleTree Melaka has over 270 rooms, including 27 suites, across six room categories, including the topmost presidential suite and I got to indulge myself in their King One Bedroom Suite….
The suite is located at the corner of the floor and spans 100 square meters, with a spacious living room, bedroom, and bathroom all separated from each other!!! I was actually surprised by the spaciousness and comfort of it… as well as the mesmerizing views of the Melaka city and the parts of the Straits of Malacca.
And how can anyone not love a spacious and elegant bathroom, fitted with a round bathtub in the bathroom… It does takes a while to fill up with water because of its size but it feels like I have a personal dipping pool all to myself!!!!!

The Famous Nasi Ayam Baba In Malacca 🇲🇾
Nasi Ayam Baba is a Restaurant in Malacca that sells Hainanese Chicken Rice. This restaurant becomes so famous lately because of their delicious Hainanese Rice.
I came here for lunch and tried their Set menu: it costs RM19.50 and comes with 1 portions of Hainanese Rice, Chicken, Veggie and Ice Lemon. Besides that i also tried their Nasi Goreng Cina, it costs RM7 per portion, the Nasi Goreng was good, the portions is enough for 1-2, they gave an eggs, chicken and veggies for Nasi Goreng’s topping.

Thaipusum celebration in Chetti Village 🪔
#thingstodo
The Chetti Village(Kampung Chetty) is situated in Jalan Gajah Berang, Melaka. The village is home to a small community of Chetti Ethnic, the descendants from Tamil traders who settled in Melaka over 500 years ago.
During my visit to the Chetti Village last evening, the villagers were celebrated the Thaipusum festival, it's the Hindu Tamil festival that celebrates the victory of the god Murugan over the demon Surapadman. The Hindu priest is standing on a Thaipusam Golden Chariot goes around the village blessing for the villagers. Truly, I'm so thankful seeing the praying ceremony.

Good Food and Street Art in Melaka
This was my first visit to Melaka and boy, I'm impressed.
Unique and vibrant street art can be spotted along the streets of Melaka.
Weather was cooling and not as humid in Singapore. Out of all the cafes that I had visit, "The Daily Fix" stood out with its good quality and taste. I ordered the American big breakfast and a cup of coffee called "Barista's choice". Like its given name, my friends and I were received coffee that were not part of their standard menu. It was a good surprise and I'm definitely coming back here again :) #melaka #thedailyfix #streetart #malaccacafe #melakacafe
Super Chio Heritage Hotel Melaka!😍✨🏠
#wheretogo
I recently went to malacca for the first time in ages and stayed at the Baba House Melaka. It was a very good stay and I thoroughly enjoyed it! They served welcome drinks which you can redeem with a antique coin they gave us or you can choose to keep the coin instead. The room I stayed in was a King Deluxe and it was a corner room on the first floor. I loved how spacious it was and the tv was super new and could connect to Netflix. The aircon was very responsive and cold just like how I like it due to weather being so hot lately. The bed was on the firmer side but it really supported my back well and I had a very restful night sleep. They also provided two pillows, one soft and one firm which I think was very thoughtful. The towels were very absorbent and not too thick nor thin. The provided toiletries also had a very nice smell to them which I really enjoyed. I loved the room decoration and that the toilet had natural lighting. The breakfast buffet was also very delightful with a wide variety and the quality of the food was above average. I spent a good 1.5hours eating and enjoying the natural lighting of the dining area. The hotel was still under some minor renovation but it is 80-90% opened. the location is very central and easy to assess the jonker street and other attractions. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone coming to melaka to stay!

A Boeing 747 in a little Malacca town
#freehotelstay
People go to Malacca for the food, culture, and shopping. They usually end up in Malacca City or Jonker Street, but I suggest going further down (and closer to Singapore!) to Freeport A'Famosa Outlet, nearby a little town called Tampin.
Freeport A'Famosa is an extensive area of over 80 fashion brands, and it's latest and heavyweight tenant is none other than Coach. You can't miss it because the whole outlet is built into a decommissioned Boeing 747 jumbo jet! It towers over the whole area and makes a really cool background for a photo opportunity.
It's also free to enter because technically, the whole plane is a shop. Just be prepared to join a queue as many people flock here to see the jumbo jet. I suggest going as sunset approaches because the view is stunning! Overall, not to be missed when making a roadtrip or daytrip to Malacca, Malaysia. Don't forget to get your retail therapy in too.

Fusion pasta delights in Bite of Life Cafe
#myfoodies 📍Bite of Life Cafe is a quaint and rustic-themed cafe nestled at the back alley of a series of shoplots located along Jalan Bendahara, Melaka. About 5minutes away from the famous Jonker Walk.
📌 They have limited selection of #foods and #drinks , mostly are extensive range of fusion pasta.
👉🏻 I tried their foods & drinks as follows;
- Spaghetti Creamy Tomyam
- Nasi Yak Mai (spicy buttermilk chicken)
- A plate of Beef Dendeng
- Hot Lemon & ice water
- Mojito Soda herbs
Overall rating: 3.5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
👉🏻 Brief review:
- Spaghetti was not al dente, a bit overcooked, but Creamy tomyam sauce is a great fusion and flavourful!
- Nasi Yak Mai is simple, #delicious but not unique to me.
- Beef Dendeng is #delicious! good texture, not hard to chew. Advisable eat with plain rice to avoid tendency of saltiness if eat the dish alone.
- Mojito Soda herbs taste like a tropical drink with mint so tasteful & refreshing!
✅ There are indoor & outdoor seating area and both environment is very cozy, great place to chill and clean. Price for #foods is similar with other food cafes in Malaysia ranging from RM15-40.
If you are looking forward for fusion foods, don’t miss out to come to Bite of Life Cafe in Melaka!

Exploring the Heartwarming Melaka, Malaysia❤️
Exploring the Heartwarming Melaka, Malaysia 🇲🇾 ❤️
As I sit here reminiscing about my trip to Melaka, my heart fills with an overwhelming sense of nostalgia. This enchanting city, with its rich history and vibrant culture, left an indelible mark on my heart and soul. Let me take you on a sentimental journey through the streets of Melaka, where time seems to stand still.
Walking through the Unesco World Heritage Site of Jonker Street, I couldn't help but be captivated by the charming colonial buildings and the aroma of mouthwatering local delicacies. The vibrant colors of the trishaws adorned with flowers and fairy lights added a touch of whimsy to the already magical atmosphere.
Every corner of Melaka seemed to whisper stories of the past. The iconic red Christ Church Melaka, standing tall and proud, reminded me of the resilience and strength of the people who built this city. The Stadthuys, with its weathered walls and ancient cannons, transported me back in time, allowing me to imagine the bustling trade that once took place within its walls.
Melaka, with its blend of cultures and traditions, is a testament to the beauty of diversity. It reminds us that despite our differences, we are all connected by our shared humanity. It is a place where history comes alive, where the past intertwines with the present, and where every street corner holds a story waiting to be discovered.
If you ever find yourself yearning for a sentimental journey, I implore you to visit Melaka. Let its timeless charm and heartfelt hospitality embrace you, just as it did me. Trust me, you won't be able to resist falling in love with this gem of a city. ❤️🇲🇾
