NYC - the city that never sleeps
Dreaming new york city
New York is that city that can’t be explained but need to be visited at least once in your lifetime.
Everything around has so much power and personality that things you see in NY can be seen only there.
New York is well known for many things, but one of them is easily its artistic prowess and the talent it homes. It's also a great spot for some huge, fascinating museums, and if you're always up for some peaceful contemplation and beautiful sights, this is a top spot.
The city's diversity can be witnessed in its food, art, music, culture, and neighborhoods.
New York is worth visiting for its diverse museums and galleries, top-notch restaurants, and non-stop entertainment. Architecture fans will love the iconic Empire State Building; sports lovers – the New York City Marathon; culture vultures – MoMA; and nature admirers – the sprawling Central Park.
New York, often called New York City or NYC, is the most populous city in the United States.
People who live in New York are called New Yorkers and Empire Staters.
New York City was (and is) the premier place for jazz musicians to perform, which made it more common to refer to New York City as the Big Apple.
Given its vibrancy, liberated population and mix of various nationalities, NYC is also known as 'the city that never sleeps'.
It has a huge metropolitan system, currently 36 rail lines. The Archer Avenue Lines and the 63rd Street Lines are each classified as two separate lines due to their structure: both lines are able to serve two divisions (the BMT and the IND) on distinct sections of track.
For most riders, the subway fare is $2.75. Reduced fares are available for people 65 and older, people with disabilities, and low-income New Yorkers. Learn more about fares.

Harry Potter at New York City
Getting There - Landing in JFK and take subway to get here.
Attractions - Harry Potter New York
Such a wonderful place for potter-head. I’ve been looking forward to get here and literally worth every minute I have spent here! Everything so unreal. It’s just like I am a muggle extremely excited to see it. I recommend you to try Butter Beer! The butter on top is super smooth and whipped. You can also get a butter beer cup back home as a souvenir (Its around $14 including the drink). This attraction also near to the Empire state building and Flat Iron Building (it is still under maintenance). Highly recommend to go! #newyork #harrypotternewyork #harrypotter #nyc
A break from the city
Head out of the city this summer. Just an hour and half from the city, the hotel is a nice place to stay for a small getaway from the busy city. You'll also be 35 mins away from Woodbury outlets for a shopping trip.
A cheaper option in the area, the hotel offers clean and spacious rooms that are great for a weekend. The hotel also has breakfast which is simple but adequate and always appreciated. The hotel also seemed to be recently refreshed so everything seemed new and modern! A good choice if you're in the area!

Buffalo: gorge hike
Niagara Falls on the New York side. The path that leads you to the trail is along the river and has a set of stairs that leads you down to hike alongside the river. You get to see the river and rapids up close. They also have a jet boat tour in the river.
We stop at the bank of rocks to rest and look at the river. We touched the water and took some pictures. We took the same way back. You could continue the other way to go back up.

A New York Icon
New York City has many icons and instantly recognizable sites and attractions. One of these is the Brooklyn bridge, connecting Manhattan to Brooklyn.
Of course, built for cars and the subway to pass, you can also walk across; something I highly recommend you doing. The Bridge is a wonderous work, standing high and majestically amongst the concrete jungle. You'll find beautiful scenes of the Manhattan skyline, which are stunning, while traversing this icon which has been there for a long time! You'll also pack in some calorie burning activity!

Brooklyn's Oasis: The Japanese Pond & Garden
In the midst of Brooklyn's urban jungle, I found a tranquil sanctuary that felt worlds away from the city's hustle and bustle: the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. This gem is one of the oldest and most visited Japanese-inspired gardens outside Japan, a testament to the timeless allure of Japanese landscape design.
Combining the ancient hill-and-pond style with the more recent stroll-garden style, this garden is an artful balance of tradition and innovation. The journey through its winding paths revealed a series of carefully orchestrated scenes: the undulating contours of artificial hills around a pond, a waterfall cascading with a gentle roar, and an island standing as an epitome of solitude. The meticulous placement of rocks added to the sense of tranquillity and equilibrium, their silent presence a narrative of Zen philosophy.
The garden's architectural elements further enhanced its authenticity. I crossed over wooden bridges, walked past stone lanterns, and found moments of reprieve in a viewing pavilion and a Shinto shrine. The striking vermilion-coloured wooden torii, a traditional Japanese gate, marked the spiritual significance of the space. As I stood beneath it, the sounds of Brooklyn faded into the distance, and I was momentarily transported to a serene corner of Japan, right here in the heart of New York.

Taking the daily cruise to see the majestic Statue of Liberty 🗽 A must-go activity when you visit NYC. Cruise scheduled to leave at Pier 36 daily and I’ve bought the ticket online to avoid disappointment.
The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor in New York City, in the United States. The copper statue, a gift from the people of France, was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and its metal framework was built by Gustave Eiffel. The statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886.
