New Zealand, Land of nature
New Zealand is a country that is absolutely astonishing!
We rented a car and traveled through both islands for 1 month.
It was an unforgettable experience!
Everything from visiting Hobbiton, to climbing Roys Peak overlooking Lake Wanaka and taking a cruise in Milford sound.
And people think that it is expensive, but truthfully, it is not even that expensive! ⭐️
Would recommend visiting!

Autumn in Paradise on Earth New Zealand
Can’t wait for autumn season again in South Island, New Zealand!
Really love this absolutely stunning country 🥰
P1 and P2 at Queenstown, P3 at Arrowtown well known spot - Wilcox Green for Autumn shoot, P4 somewhere random we stopped by to feed the goat and P5 at Cromwell!
Autumn is my favourite season because it makes me feel good every single day when I see this beautiful scene although I love winter as well because of snowboard but it’s too cold for me sometimes 🤣

Finding Peace in Queenstown, New Zealand ☮️
Looking for a serene escape, why not check out Queenstown? Nestled amongst the mountains on New Zealand’s South Island, the small town offers peace and tranquility. ☮️
The town itself offers a lot for for visitors. There’s countless restaurants, bars, and ice cream stores. It’s always a good option to get a takeout and bring it to the small beach by the by the lake to watch the sunset. Fergburger is a popular joint downtown where you can get delicious burgers. 🍔 Or why not check out Cookie Time for a mouthwatering ice cream cookie sandwich? 🍪 🍦
Besides countless walking trails around Queenstown, you can also take the gondola up the mountain for insane views of the lake and mountains. While up there, adrenaline junkies should checkout the luge! 🏔️
Travel a bit further afield by taking the city bus to Arrowtown for $2. Arrowtown is just 20 minutes away but it gets even more chill that Queenstown. It’s an old mining town and it has such a cool vibe. There are numerous walking and hiking trails. If you want breathtaking views, check out the Sawpit Gully hike. Or if river views are more for you, head out on the shorter arrowtown river walk. If you’re feeling hungry after all that hiking, head to the Arrowtown Bakery and Cafe for some really good pies and sandwiches! 🥧
Queenstown has some nice hotels to choose from but I chose to stay in the La Quinta in Frankton. It offered peace and quite away from the town. It was also very close to the Queenstown walking trail which takes you to Queenstown by the lake offering stunning scenery. 🏨
So if you’re looking for peace and serenity, then Queenstown is definitely the place for you! 💯

Mount Cook National Park Day Trip 📸
One of the best trips I took whilst in New Zealand was a day trip to Mount Cook National Park. To be honest, a day really isn’t enough for this beautiful place but unfortunately I was under time constraints! ⏰
I was based in Christchurch which is about a 4 hour drive from Mount Cook. You can rent a car and drive yourself or take one of the many tours leaving the city. If you’re taking a tour be sure to book it early as they sell out fast! I decided to go with Cheeky Kea which was pretty decent. 🚌
Itinerary:
1️⃣ Lake Tekapo - This is the first of two lakes you’ll pass by on the way to Mount Cook. It’s a pretty nice stop and the church is one of the most photographed buildings in New Zealand. To be honest, I preferred Lake Pukaki as it had less tourists.
2️⃣ Lake Pukaki - This is the second lake you’ll stop at and it was amazing. The clouds cleared so I could see Mount Cook and the water was so blue! One of the most beautiful lakes I’ve seen.
3️⃣ Mount Cook Hooker Valley walking track - There are numerous walks you can do but if you’re stuck for time I would recommend this one. They suggest it takes about 3 hours to complete but I managed it in 2 along with several photo stops. It’s not a loop so you will have to return the way you came. Keep going until you reach the end as the views of the lake and the ice are incredible! 🏔️

Dormant volcanoes and city views in Auckland!
Auckland was certainly not my favorite city in the world, but it had some pretty gems! Check out the deets below to check what you should hit up 👌
Getting There - Auckland Airport is the oblivious choice here and there’s public transport options to take from the airport to the city. I opted for the $18 skydrive bus as it only took 40 minutes to reach the CBD.
Attractions - 1️⃣ Take the short ferry ride to Devonport and walk up to Victoria Summit for great views of the city at sunset 🌅2️⃣Take a slightly longer ferry ride to Rangitoto Island and hike up to the summit of the dormant volcano for more breathtaking views! (Be sure to check the ferry schedule to this island as it’s not very frequent and you don’t want to get stuck!) 3️⃣ Check out Mount Eden to see the skyline from a different perspective (Auckland has a lot of dormant volcanoes to hike 😂)4️⃣ Explore the CBD and check out the architecture and if you want to, go up the top of the sky tower (I didn’t as I didn’t think it was worth the price when the city has so many hills and mountains to climb up).
Hotels - I stayed in the Holiday Inn Express Auckland City and it was great. It had good sound insulation, big rooms and wonderful buffet style breakfast! 🏩
Food & Restaurants - There are lots of food options in the city and to be honest I didn’t eat much as I was so full from my hotel breakfast. But one place I would recommend is the Seafood Collective 🐟at Mt Eden. They have excellent fish and chips and, coming from Ireland, I was very impressed.
Shopping 🛍️ - Check out the Dress Smart outlets near Onehunga. It’s easy to reach by bus number 30 from the downtown and they have some really good deals for well known brands. Downtown on Queen Street you’ll find the farmers department store which is also pretty good!

Timeless tranquility in nature's embrace
Embracing the feeling of being a little dwarf in the midst of towering redwoods adds a whimsical touch to the experience.
Looking at the majestic trees has a calming effect, inviting a sense of tranquility and connection with nature. It's wonderful how nature's grandeur can bring a soothing presence and a moment of peace.

Christmas In Summer | Queenstown
#christmastrip
How about turning everything on it's head. As strange as it sounds, Christmas in Summer is an absolutely normal in Southern hemisphere. And one of the most stunning landscapes to experience it is in Queenstown in New Zealand.
Queenstown is a picturesque resort town located on the South Island of New Zealand. Known as the "Adventure Capital of New Zealand," Queenstown is renowned for its wide range of outdoor and adventure activities. From skiing and snowboarding in winter to bungee jumping, skydiving, and hiking in the warmer months, it's a haven for adrenaline enthusiasts. It is a gateway to some of New Zealand's premier ski resorts, including The Remarkables and Coronet Peak. These resorts attract winter sports enthusiasts from around the world.
The town is situated on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, offering opportunities for water activities such as boat cruises, kayaking, and fishing. The lake's crystal-clear waters against the backdrop of mountains create a stunning setting.
The surrounding area, including Gibbston Valley, is part of Central Otago, known for its vineyards and wine production. Wine tours and tastings are popular activities for visitors.
Tips and Tricks ⁉️
As a resort town, prices in Queenstown might be more inflated than in other surrounding towns. Towns like Frankton, Fernhill, Arrow Town may offer cheaper, yet much more limited options. (Queenstown is the heart and solul of the area)
Queenstown offers a vibrant culinary scene with a range of restaurants and cafes. The nightlife is lively, with numerous bars and clubs catering to different tastes.
The surrounding landscapes have been featured in several movies, most notably in the "The Lord of the Rings" film trilogy, showcasing the natural beauty of the region.

🇳🇿 Mount Cook trekking trail, New Zealand
#wheretogo
The Hooker Valley Track in Mount Cook National Park is one of the best short walks in New Zealand. It is flat, fairly easy and offers stunning views of some of the best lakes and peaks in Mount Cook National Park. To start, we drove to the end of Mount Cook Road, found White Horse Hill Campground and just followed the signs to the track starting point. Along the trail, we also crossed the most beautiful suspension bridges in New Zealand! This is the kind of scenery that's unique to New Zealand!

🇳🇿 Lake Tekapo,New Zealand for stargazing🌟
#wheretogo
When we heard of Lake Tekapo, New Zealand, only two things came into our minds - stargazing and hotspring. This spot is very photogenic both day and night. It is also art of a UNESCO Dark Sky Reserve, making it the perfect spot for stargazing. During the day, we looked from the beautiful Church of the Good Shepherd across the turquoise coloured lake to the mountainous drama of the Southern Alps. The scenery was stunning!I would advised to get there early in the morning as crowds started to come in the late morning. The legendary night sky in Lake Tekapo offers the perfect opprtunity to spot stars. It is something that we can hardly do in other countries.#timetotravel #newzealand #stargazing

There is a place that you have to visit and located at Maungauika at the north head path where it is used to say to have a volcanic eruption more than 50 over thousands years ago. Also, during the war this place was also used as a defence where you can see turrets and bunkers facing the sea protecting the island.

God’s own country- New Zealand
On my way to Mt Cook and we stopped by to take some photos of the beautiful scenery that you can’t forget once you have seen it.
It takes around 3 hours drive from the Town Centre of Queenstown and it totally worth the drive!
The weather wasn’t great when we were there but you still can see the mountains 🏔️ and the views. If you are planning to go Mt Cook, please book at least a night to stay there so that you can enjoy the track and sit down and relax with a beer or wine to look at the views.
We have actually planned to go back again next year because you will want to come back again and again for the views here.

I’m Going On An Adventure!
Ready for your middle-earth adventure?!
This Hobbiton Movie Set tour was definitely one of the most memorable highlight of my entire trip! Each display looks exactly like in the movies and the entire movie set was so magnificent that it made taking a pretty picture seem so easy for once. The guided tour provides you an insight to the different scenes/sets and even includes a beverage at the inn (another amazing photo opp) to end your tour.
Definitely not an experience that you’ll want to miss!
Recommendations: Book early and try to visit on a weekday to avoid the crowds - giving you more time to enjoy the views and take plenty of breathtaking photos.

Hobbiton - a real place in New Zealand
Peter Jackson spotted the Alexander Farm of the North Island for the possible location to film The Lord of The Rings film trilogy, he immediately thought this location perfect for Hobitton.
It was built for filming in March 1999 and then filming commenced on December the same year.
It is now a permanent attraction for tourists or the fans of LOTRs and the Hobbiton. It opens for business all year round no matter rain or shine.

What is Tongariro
Tongariro is actually the oldest national park in New Zealand, and it was only the 6th in the world to be established. It was created in 1887 and now holds dual world heritage status, recognizing both its significance in Maori culture and religion, as well as its diverse and dramatic volcanic landscape.
The park covers 80,000 hectares of land, which is 796 square kilometers (307 square miles). However, you’ll find glaciers, ancient lava flows, rivers, cascading waterfalls, alpine lakes, and even ski fields here. This striking and widely varied landscape is why Tongariro National Park was chosen as a filming location for several of the Lord of the Rings movies. In fact, Mount Ngauruhoe was actually used for Mount Doom in the film (with some digital alterations, of course). Meanwhile, among other locations, Mount Ruapehu was the setting for Emyn Muil and two waterfalls were used for Gollum’s Pool. New Zealand is celebrated for its natural beauty, adventurous outdoor activities, and Maori culture – you’ll find all that (and much more!) when you visit Tongariro National Park.#awesomepic #couplestrip #mytripvlog #nationalpark #bucketlistreboot #2023travelwish #2023travelwish #newzealand #newzealandtravel #trekking
The Sheepdog Memorial @ Lake Tekapo
When you are at Lake Tekapo and visiting the Church of the Good Shepherd, do pop by the sheepdog memorial just ~100m away.
History: In 1855 James Mackenzie, a Scottish shepherd turned sheep stealer discovered the basin that now bears his name when he, with the help of his dog Friday, drove flocks of sheep inland to avoid being discovered.
Authorities were finally able to capture Mackenzie, but struggled to take control of the sheep due to his highly intelligent dog. It is alleged Friday continued to drive the sheep without his master's control until finally being disabled by the authorities.
A bronze memorial to working collie dogs, such as Friday, was commissioned in 1968 by local farmers and now stands on the shores of Lake Tekapo near the Church of the Good Shepherd. #newzealand #travel #Sheepdog

When in Queenstown, everyone should go do this! it’s super Awesome!
The entire experience was phenomenal and the staff at the Kawarau Bungy Center was outstanding.
A little pricey would be the only drawback, especially once you include pictures/videos.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and professional. They really got you excited about jumping off a perfectly good bridge!!
The viewing platform was great to watch from and your friends can get good shots of you jumping off.
There is a gift shop and cafe there as well.
This is something everyone should do at least once in your life and where better than the home of bungy?

Nature - best therapy ever!
We went on a road-trip from Auckland City to Hamilton City. The scene throughout the whole drive (Stateway 1) was just breathtaking. I have no words to describe the scenery of the countryside cities between Auckland and Hamilton. The weather was cloudy ☁️ but it still didn’t stand in the way of bringing out the beautiful and natural scenery surrounding the motorway. If you’re ever in Auckland I strongly recommend this motorway for a romantic drive or just a short road trip if you’re a nature loving person! 🍃🪵⛰️🛣️ #RoadTrip #NatureLovers #NewZealand
Relaxing walk at Lake Te Koo Utu
If you're ever in Cambridge, this lake is a hidden gem for a relaxing walk, especially in summer. There are a few different routes which you can take to the lake. You'll be able to find a signboard which clearly denotes the expectations of the different routes.
We took the Lake Arm Track which was a 124 meter track to the lake. There were slight slopes but it was well worth the time to walk around the lake and simply enjoy the fresh air, beautiful water lilies.
Lawns are well maintained and the children will love to see ducks in the lake. There's also a children's playground near the Begonia House.
Suggested duration: Approximately 1 hour
