OH MY HAMMAMET YOU ARE SO PARADISE! 🇹🇳
Hammamet lies on the Mediterranean coast in north Tunisia, a popular tourist resort famed for its endless beaches and wonderfully preserved medina. The town has passed through many different hands – Punic, Roman, Islamic, Spanish, Turkish and French, each leaving their own architectural legacy. The seawalls date back to the 13th century, the medina to the 15th and many of the elegant whitewashed houses were built in the era of French rule. Hammamet has attracted plenty of discerning visitors over the years, including Sophia Loren, Winston Churchill and Andre Gide. Most famously it was painted by the great Paul Klee, whose ‘Hammamet with Its Mosque’ of 1914 hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. A MUST PLACE TO VISIT! 🏝️

Can’t beat The Medina, Sousse, Tunisia
After escaping the other worldly compound of the all-inclusive hotel I highly recommend staying in the old town, the Medina of any city or town, for a dash of the more authentic side of Tunisia.
The walls surrounding the Mosque may get more crowded and appear overwhelming but step right up, it’s the place to go. Medina in Sousse Tunisia
A trip back in time, first thing that hits you is the multitude of sounds, it’s where locals shop among tourists, and other than mopeds, the web of lanes and alleys are nicely noisy, with a new sight or shout at every turn. Stop pause and listen to the call to prayer mixes with the call to come and look! Food becomes a far more fun feast with a coffee and panini.,fruit smoothies or all types of street vendors offering easily tempting and importantly mot a rip off price like European cities.
Ponder your purchases among the hustle and bustle of the market kids singing, radios, rumbling carts, with modern looking women, kids playing, men chattering along a multitude of lovely leather, fab sportswear, jewellery, vegetables market. Don’t be shy to barter as the friendliness and enthusiasm of the sellers is genuine joy to have tourists back is reflected in the deals and fun to be had.
These traders are way more grateful than any shop here in the UK and end up like a personal shopper! It works both ways. They need the money, you get a bargain. In fact. Don’t even bother bringing much in your suitcase, it’s all here. Two pairs of latest trainers, tracksuit, hoodie and leather handbag set with stuffed camels for the kids later I left happy.

From Cafe Paris to Hotel Paris
From Cafe Paris to Hotel Paris
Perched on a stool I’d made a happy discovery upon taking a sideways turn and taking up offer of cous cous for dinner. A drinking den, except in Ramadan. Packed with men, deep in debate, I didn’t expect to stay long but a few beers later the conversation lead to closing time. My bag of ice kindly offered by the woman running the bar and whom made me feel looked out for, had melted but I’d learnt more about this place in a couple hours than I had all week. There’s always a Cafe Paris in these countries cities and towns. The iconic era’s imagery on the walls , that poster, it feels like gone back in time prohibiting era for women anyway! I was unnoticed and grateful for that respect.
A quick walk back, Hotel Paris is perched just inside the perimeter of the thick fortress walled old town. Serene simplicity and with rooms surrounding a courtyard this place is worth staying at for the rooftop alone. See the stars catch the breeze, submerge in the sounds tempting you outside. Dawn or dusk up on the roof makes this an oasis casting a magical light over the city walks and bathed in golden hour colours it was the best way to go and want to come back for more. After the bizarre hotel compound heading for the bazar of the
Medina was a good move. And right next to the train station back to the airport. Perfect. #medinahotel #tunisia #hotel #oldcity #medinaroom #cityview #bargainhunting #simplicity
Ksar Said Palace
🇹🇳
#mytripvlog #2023travelwish #tunisia#tunisie
#tripblazers #awesomepic #couplestrip
Highlights:
The Palace of Ksar Said (in French , palais de Ksar Saïd ) is a former Tunisian beylical palace situated in Bardo , on the outskirts of the city of Tunis . It is very close to the National Bardo Museum .
The building was initially the preferred residence of Ismail Es-Sunní , a high dignitary of the Husseinite dynasty and brother-in-law of the sovereigns Mohammed Bey and Sadok Bey . [ 1 ] In 1867 , Ismail Es-Sunni was accused of plotting against the latter and executed. Sadok Bey took possession of the palace, auspiciously naming it Ksar Saïd (“Blessed Palace”) and moved into it in 1869 , after undergoing notable transformations. [ 2 ] The Ksar Saïd palace witnessed the signing of the Bardo Treaty, on May 12, 1881, which marked the beginning of the French protectorate of Tunis . [ 2 ]
After the death of Sadok Bey, in 1882 , the palace was abandoned by his successor Ali III Bey , who preferred to settle in La Marsa .
At the beginning of the 20th century, the palace returned to being a beylical residence under Muhammad IV Bey , the only sovereign to live there after Sadok Bey. [ 3 ] In 1951 , Muhammad VIII Bey made Ksar Said the site of a hospital that was named after him before being renamed Aboulkacem - Chabbi Hospital in 1957 . During this period, the palace underwent several transformations and additions. [ 2 ]
Given the historical importance of the palace, in 1981 it was proposed to install a museum of modern and contemporary Tunisian history in it. For various reasons, the museum was never fully inaugurated, being postponed time after time [ 2 ] After the Tunisian revolution of 2010-2011, it was considered the creation, within the palace, of a museum dedicated to the beys of the Husseinite ( 1705-1957 ) and Muradit ( 1613-1702 ) dynasties . [ 4 ] In 2016-2017 , it hosted an exhibition titled « The Awakening of a Nation» ( L'Éveil d'une nation ) and dedicated to the time of the reforms undertaken by Tunisia between 1830 and 1881 .
Due to its architecture and decoration, Ksar Said resembles the beylical palaces and residences of 19th century Tunisia. It shows deep European influences, but also a certain fidelity to the local architectural and decorative repertoire. This syncretism, far from being a mixture of genres, constitutes a successful synthesis in which various styles coexist harmoniously thanks to the skill of the builders of the palace. [ 2 ]
The European influence is already visible in the general architecture of the palace. The primacy is given to the first floor, which thus becomes the noble part of the building. There are also the ceremonial halls and the bey's private quarters. This influence is largely attested in the interior decoration of the rooms: all the walls are covered with ceramic tiles imported mainly from Italy , to which is added the white imported Carra

Fantastic journey and Djerbian weeding
Djerba is consistently the greatest place to go on a fantastic vacation, and Djerbahood shows off the creative side of Djerba culture.
I had the good fortune to be present in the weeding of my friend in Djerba. I adored the celebration, and it was really special. Everything revolves around historical and the culture of Djerba. #djerba #weeding #djerbahood #tunisia

IS TUNISIA WORTH VISITING? 🤷♂️
Located in North Africa, Tunisia is a rich tourist destination country with a massive history of ancient years. The Romans and Arabs lived and traversed the whole of Tunisia, leaving behind ancient ruins which serve as excellent tourist attraction sites. Most people consider Tunisia a beach country considering its vast beach bordering the Mediterranean Sea and the Sahara Desert, which cuts across the south of Tunisia.
It’s a Mediterranean country at the northern tip of Africa, not far from the islands of both Sardinia and Sicily, part of Italy. Its strategic location meant that it was fought over by the great ancient Mediterranean powers.
You can imagine how worth Tunisia is! Pack & Go people. ✈️

Moroccan food : Tajine!
#passionpassport
have you ever tasted a Tajine? known as the best meal in Morocco after couscous, it is a traditional and widely known food in North Africa.
Moroccan Tagine is a classic North African dish that uses dried fruits, vegetables, preserved foods and meat, in combination with aromatic spices.
Although lamb and beef are commonly used, chicken is the most preferred meat for preparing the traditional Moroccan Tagine recipe. The recipe may utilizes traditional Moroccan spices and ingredients – chicken, dried apricots, almonds, raisins, honey, a selection of spices, and of in some regions harissa.
The best part is that you can prepare it as a vegetarian as well. The term ‘tagine’ is the name of the cooking vessel used for making the dish – traditionally, a clay pot.
You can find also tajines with fish in costal cities…

The neighborhood of Medina of Tunis is located at the capital of the country #tunisia - the city of #tunis and yes it is really nice place. The guide told us many interesting stories about how the people lived here 100 years ago. Nowadays the town is well kept and easily shows the tradition of this nation. It is a must when you visit this country. It needs just few hours to be explored...

The #ancient city of #carthage is located near the Mediterranean sea on the African continent and more exactly in #tunisia . It is very well kept and shows how the ancient people had been living here. The rocks and what left from the buildings are very old and you really feel the atmosphere of the old times here. It is really nice place. It is easily accessible by bus from the capital of the country also.

Sidi Bou Said is a small village in #tunisia , northern #africa which is all in white and blue. The law says that all the buildings should be in these and only these colours and this saves the authentical style of the place. It was really enjoyable even not big at all. There were many touristy cafés around and also many organized tours.
