Little National Hotel Sydney
-Absolutely charming! While the rooms are compact, they're impeccably tidy, modern, and cozy. The true standout here is the rooftop bar; it's absolutely breathtaking! Although the bar food left a bit to be desired, the cocktails were absolutely exceptional. A true hidden gem - highly recommended! Plus, its proximity to public transport makes exploring the city a breeze.#winter #solotravel #Sydney #Australia

my first snow! - Uludag Turkiye
Uludag is located in Bursa, Turkiye. During winter, the ski resorts will open for snowboarding and skiing. During other season, it can still be visited as national park.
There are many hotel/lodge/resort at the top or along the way uphill but quite pricey, so we stayed in Bursa town and took a cable car (teleferik) to go to Uludag. It was ~30minutes journey from the town to the top. The cable car is one of the longest in the world.
After arriving at the top teleferik station, we took a taxi to one of the ski resorts available there. We went to Uludag Kayak Merkezi. The equipment rental in Turkiye is one of the cheapest i’ve seen in the world (from my online survey hihi).
There’s also ski lift (extra fee) to take us to the top of the top 🫣 there’re a cafe up there to chill and most professionals will snowboard/ski downhill from the top.
tips: check weather forecast, it is best to come after a snowfall a night before. the view was amazing! snowfall on d-day might cause a gloomy foggy photo/view

South Korea (Daehan Min-guk) 🇰🇷
Korea is a fantastic country for sightseeing and adventuring, and although your rural town may be beautiful, you are likely to exhaust its activities quickly enough to want to explore the rest of Korea. In a city like Seoul or Busan it is easy to find something new going on each weekend, and thus you find yourself never venturing further than where you live. You will have an amazing time, but you may be missing out on what’s going on in the rest of the country! And, although it may take that little bit longer to get there, transport in Korea really is pretty great, and with a free tourist information call centre (021-330) it’s easy to organise too. Furthermore, the smaller towns and lesser known sights nearby where you live are so much more available to you than someone living in the city, meaning you are exploring way more than just the Lonely Planet top ten. This will give you a deeper understanding of the history, culture, geography and people of Korea.

Riyue Mountain as frozen Winter Dreamland
Most posts show Qinghai province during summer but also the late winter creates a beautiful countryside. While the lakes are frozen, you can enjoy still the monasteries, temples and mountains partially covered in snow.
Riyue Mountain is beautiful during late winter days with a mixture of snow and awakening nature. Almost no tourists will come this way but you can do small hiking tour from top to top of each grass hill.
Put your warm clothes on and don’t forget sun protection then you will be ready to spend some good time there without having many other people there.

Les Arcs Lyon
Skiing at Les Arcs was my first ever experience skiing, and I couldn’t recommend it more if you’re like me and this will be your first time skiing. They have great slopes for beginners and kids and they have great slopes to build up to when you’re feeling more comfortable. They have a few little restaurants and lots of bars, and I’d say it’s definitely more of a family resort. Overall loved my first ski holiday here and can’t wait to go again!

Chiangmai in winter hits differently
Chiangmai has a lot of historical sites and many many attractions. From temples in the heart of the city, to temples at the top of mountains, to cafés in the middle of the woods, to flowers farms, orange farms, strawberry farms and so many more.
You can also have a one day trip to a neighboring region, Chiang Rai!
Winter is the best time to visit not only for the weather that could go to 10C in the middle of the night, but also for the fruits and flowers to be in season. I’m sure you would agree that sitting by a camp fire hugging your significant other is the best feeling ever!
And of course, you can travel cheap here ;)

Sunset hunting and the beauty of the universe in late winter
One spot to enjoy sunset in Hong Kong is Braemar Hill. I hiked up to this hill at the late winter, and what I could see is breathtaking views surrounding to it. The sunset and sky were beautiful. It was less than 20-minutes hike from Braemar Hill bus terminus. The track was easy, and suitable for beginners. The great weather completed my hiking.

Tokyo’s Futuristic Cathedral!
It’s NOT a spaceship, it’s St. Mary’s Cathedral in Tokyo, an architectural masterpiece by Kenzo Tange! Seeing it in person is a jaw-dropping experience. Everything about it seems surreal. While the steel exterior screams structure of the future, the interior is a cheeky fusion of futuristic and traditional. Just look at that pipe organ! I’m told it’s Italian-made. And that natural light seeping in from the glass panels just adds to the magnificence of this unique church. Simply awe-inspiring!

My day trip to Otaru
Today Otaru was snowing and cold. The moment we arrived, the falling snow was quite frequent and sometimes heavy. As we were walking to the Otaru canal, we saw many fun snow figures and it heightened the mood for the winter season.
We took some pictures at the canal; and was approached by the trishaw company for a ride around Otaru. We took the opportunity onto the comfortable and blanketed trishaw. The puller was Kota San, he was informative and fun. The rides brought us to some historical places and we were offered photographs taking.
Thereafter, we took a stroll along the shops (souvenirs, interesting foods, musical boxes, wind chimes, glassware and many more). Some crafts were delicate and in good quality.
In the evening, we walked back to the canal; where the lights and candles were lit for the winter festival. It was beautiful and warm, despite if the cold temperatures.
We simply love this place.#winter festival #otaru
Hanoi During Winter Season! ❄️❄️❄️
Getting There - By flight! Hanoi is reachable by flight and sleeper bus. We chose to take flight from Danang to Hanoi because we want to save our time so that we can have more time to explore Hanoi 🤩 The shortest distance from Danang to Hanoi is 771km so usually for sleeper bus, they offer overnight ride with at least 13 hours in the bus.
Attractions - Old quarters have the most attractions. We love the ambients and environments in Hanoi. It is very chillax and romantic especially during evening. You can come during winter to experience a different Vietnam 😎 [The weather is good too! around 12C at night]
Hotels - All the hotels in Hanoi are equally good. One con of the hotel is the room size usually is not big, they have limited space in the room as the land in Hanoi is very extremely expensive. Most of the hotel in Hanoi provide breakfast. but if you wish to have a local breakfast, pho eat together with the fried dough u must not missed!
There is a very well-known night market in old quarters which sell a lot of souvenirs and clothes. Most of the clothes are with price tag so you are hardly bargain. Nice street foods available as well along the road. A very unforgettable experience in Hanoi!

Onsen with a Breathtaking View of Lake Tōya
Lake Toya is a must-visit destination in Hokkaido during winter. It not only boasts a magnificent scenery but also features one of the world`s most unique natural occurrences - its lake never freezes during winter. This is due to the stratovolcano, Mount Usu, around the lake. Very interesting isn't it?
There are many things to do in Lake Toya, and the best decision we made was to go for Onsen. We have Onsen in Singapore but it's an entirely different experience to do it in winter. When temperature dips to sub zero, the cold never truly leaves you, regardless of the number of layers you wear. Onsen becomes a source of warmth, comfort and relief. We felt so so blessed then, the feeling was indescribable.
Things to note: There are public and private Onsen. Strict rules must be followed at the public hot spring baths - tattoos, photography and the use of bath towels are prohibited. For private ones, there are no restrictions. We stayed at Toyako Manseikaku. It has the perfect view of the lake and a public Onsen. We also made frequent trips to their in-house café as the views from there are exceptional! Starting from SGD$200 per night, guests can enjoy their Onsen for free and complimentary buffet breakfast for two. If you prefer privacy, you can also book a private spa at Nonokaze Resort for just SGD$33 per 50 minutes.
1. Toyako Manseikaku
Address - 21 Toyako Onsen, Toyako-cho, Abuta-gun, Hokkaido
Getting there - Sapporo Station ⇔ Hotel Shuttle Bus

2. Nonokaze Resort

Getting there - There is a hotel shuttle bus that operates to and from JR Sapporo and New Chitose Airport. It is free from JR Sapporo Station and costs 1000 yen one way from New Chitose Airport. Need to book in advance.

Winter Wonderland in Hokkaido
Seeing snow is fascinating as we never get to experience it in sunny Singapore. Can you imagine our excitement when we first glimpsed the thick blanket of snow embracing the city of Hokkaido from the tiny window of the plane? Our stomachs fluttered and our hearts skipped a bit like we were in love! We were in love - in love with the magical and enchanting winter wonderland.
Skiing is the first activity we did in Hokkaido (like many people do). It was our first time skiing and we went to a beginner-friendly ski resort - Sapporo Teine Ski Resort. It has a good selection of trails from advance to beginner. Arming with our ski gears in our many layers of clothes, we set off to the Olympia Zone which has less steep trails and a family park for sledding. It is named the Olympia Zone because the trail is used for ski events during the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics. We were thrilled to be able to ski on the very slope that the Olympic athletes competed in! Skiing is difficult, it needs a lot of controlling and balancing on slippery ground. We couldn't really get use to it and kept falling down (as seen in photos) but we definitely had fun. It's an exhilarating experience! Try when you get the chance.
The following day, we went to see trees in Biei Town. They are not just any trees. They are famous trees which appeared in commercial ads and have attracted a lot of visitors in the past year. Some of the famous trees are the Seven Star Tree, Christmas Tree and mother-and-child tree. Against the snowy backdrop, the trees look even more magnificent. I came to know that Biei Town is beautiful in spring with bed of flowers blooming. If you are not rushing for time, you can plan this 'tree hunting/flower watching' trip into your itinerary!
1. Sapporo Teine Ski Resort
Address - 172 Teinekanayama, Teine Ward, Sapporo, Hokkaido 006-0049, Japan
Getting there - About 45 minutes by train and bus via JR Teine Station. About 40 minutes from central Sapporo via Teine IC.
Admission fee - Full day 5700 yen (SGD$57) Half day 4600 yen (SGD$46) Nighter 2300 yen (SGD$23)
2. Biei Town
Address - Kamikawa District, Hokkaido, Japan
Getting there - About an hour and 20 minutes from Sapporo on the JR Hokadate Line to Asahikawa Station.
Attractions - Trees in winter and flowers in spring!
