The Beauty of the Great Wall of China 🇨🇳
#timetotravel
October 2020
Mutianyu Great Wall Beijing
This was one of my most memorable travel experiences in China. I had only seen the Great Wall in books or on videos, and when I was finally there, it felt surreal (I was super happy and had butterflies in my stomach 😅😁). I took a lot of photos there, of course😎.
Getting There - The Great Wall is very far from the city center and it’s best to book a guided tour to the Great Wall. It’s going to be hassle free and most tours include a free lunch of traditional Chinese dishes.
Food & Restaurants - There are a few restaurants near the entrance, but only a few stalls as you enter. You may also want to bring a bottle of water as the wall is quite long and you will be walking for more than thirty minutes.

Wuhan Day Trip, Hubei Province, China
Getting There - Guangzhou-Wuhan High Speed Train would be very convenient and fast which could be another alternative traveling by flight.
Attractions - Yellow Crane Tower and the First Bridge over Yangtze River are a must to visit if you ever going to Wuhan Hubei. While in Wuhan, tourists should taste the local 热干面(Hot Dry Noodle) that to be considered as top 10 dishes in China. Cycling around the capital of Hubei and admiring the old town of Hankou is really something you don’t wanna missed😁.

A stunning park in the heart of Shenzhen
Lychee park is a stunning green space located in downtown Louhu, Shenzhen. The park is an oasis of calm surrounded by the ever growing city, it is framed nicely by the KK100, the second tallest building in Shenzhen.
The park is built up around a big lake and features plenty of walkways and seating, its a hot spot for jogging in the early mornings and families during the evenings and weekends. Over summer there are peddalos for hire on the lake along with food vendors selling snacks.
The park is within walking distance of Hongling station or Grand theater station, the mall at grand theater has plenty of food options to take to the park and have a picnic.
At the lower right hand corner of the park is a big display tribute to Deng Xiaoping who is known as the founding father of Shenzhen, he opened up the city to a free trade zone that has catapulted to the size that it is now.
The park is a nice way to relax in the city and take in the surroundings, the city has grown fast around the park and the skyline is really impressive.

Cocopark, the beating heart of Futian
CocoPark is one of the older malls in Shenzhen and has been the hub of downtown Futian for many years, it has one of the most diverse restaurant offerings in the city and is a buzz on evenings and weekends. It is anchored by a few big shops including Uniqlo, Muji, Adidas and Calvin Klein but it is predominantly driven by it’s eating and drinking. It has lots of Asian restaurants, lots of coffee shops and of course a big Shake Shack. It is built around a big open space which is often used for seasonal promotions and activities, especially throughout the summer.
I like coming here on the weekends for brunch as there are lots of western style offerings and plenty of options for coffee, in the evenings you can choose from everything from Korean to Thai and of course lots of hot pot options.
It can get very busy on the weekends and is within walking distance of shopping park station & convention center station. There is a second phase of coco park across the road but that mainly features smaller womens clothes shops, bank branches and kids places.
It’s definitely a place to check out on a hot weekend afternoon, grab a coffee and just people watch!

The Pearl of Guangdong, Guangzhou 🏙️ 🌉
Guangzhou is the captial of Guangdong province, with around 20 million people it’s one of the biggest cities in the world and part of the greater pearl river delta urban area. It has a long history as a trade port due to it’s strategic location, being know around the world as canton for it’s infamous trade fair the canton fair.
I lived in the city for about 6 months and I was fascinated by the urban devlopment and architecture, I would love to hire a bike and cycle along the river and take in the different residential and commercial developments. The city is growing rapidly and you can see cranes all along the river.
Opposite the canton tower there is a large public plaza flanked by Guangzhou’s two tallest buildings dubbed ‘the twin towers’ which act as the centerpiece for the city’s CBD Zhujiang New Town. In ZNT you will find lots of western shops and restaurants and many international embassies, most notably the embassy of the United States.
At the northern end of the public plaza you will find Guangzhou’s biggest shopping district with three big malls, and along the way there is a nice man made river and park with various sculptures and seating areas.
Guangzhou is a huge city to explore and if you only have limited time a cycle along the river and a walk through the central plaza is a good way to see the highlights of the city.

An Attractive Assembly Hall 🇨🇳
#timetotravel
I can't count how many time we visited Chongqing already and we always saw this structure. We didn't even know what it was and we didn't bother but there was this one time we just went to Chongqing for just leisure and didn't plan anything , we finally decided to go and have a look at this building closer. When we got there and bought the ticket that was when we realized that it is actually a government sort of stadium where they hold their events and stuff. They call it an Assembly Hall. There is not much to do here but admire the beauty of its architecture. If you have spare time in Chonqing then this is worth a short stop as ticket is only 10 rmb anyway. You can also relax and sit inside. Overall, it is an okay visit which reminds me of Temple of Heaven in Beijing.

Amazing Lego Structures! 👏🇨🇳

The Lego store in Nanjing East in Shanghai has become a popular attraction for people who love lego and even to those who don't. It is open to everyone so if you want to buy or if you simply just want to look at the lego models then you will be amused and entertained here. This store contains a lot of impressive structures that a builder could spend months and months or even a year of building. I built a Titanic lego myself and when I saw the dragon and the Orient Pearl tower I was so amazed..Kudos to the people who made this shop so interactive and attractive to all the visitors!

A restaurant with a twist!📚🥘
#timetotravel Don't miss Jason's Library restaurant 📚📚🥘🥘. 10 minute walk from Fengtan Metro station 📌🚇, just north of west lake .
Location give is only to metro station. The actual address is:
拱墅区-余杭塘路515号矩阵国际4号楼1楼529室 📌
You will be greeted by a low key library facade and ushered through a secret door to food glory. A varied menu of tapas and traditional British dishes that will satisfy your cravings for home food. 😋
The steak and guinness pie, as well as the fish and chips were a big hit with our family🍴🥚 the scotch egg was sooo delicious and although the sheperds pie is beef rather than lamb, it was soooo good.
The portions are a good size too,.perfect dinner after a sporty day.
The atmosphere is very calm and family friendly let them take your polaroid and either clip it with the others around the restaurant or take it as a souveneir 📸😀
Dinner for family of 5 was just under 1000RMN including starters, main meal and drinks👌#hangzhou#roadtrip#foodie #weekend#chinatravel
M.O.T.A.S around the world A historical European oasis in Guangzhou
Shamian Island is my favourite place in Guangzhou and it was my safe haven during my 6 months living there, it was an oasis of calm in such a chaotic city. The Island was divided into concessions given to France and the UK in the 19th century and foreigners lived and worked on the island to help support the export of Chinese products. The island is separated from the mainland by a small river and this created a self contained zone that allowed western nations to establish trade missions without ‘being present’ on the mainland. Ultimately America, France, Holland, Italy, Germany, Portugal, japan and the UK had a presence on the island in big stone mansions along the water.
The buildings now house cafes, restaurants and shops and has become a surreal tourist destination, the buildings lining the street were built in the style of their respective western powers so it feels like you could be in Paris, London or Amsterdam. The buildings are grand and imposing as each nation tried to outdo the other with their architectural styles, leaving tree lined boulevards lined with buildings that stand out against the Chinese city that has developed around them.
You can reach the island via the Huangsha metro station and then walking over an overpass, also many bus routes have stops just outside the bridge that links the island to greater Guangzhou.
I’d really recommend this to anyone living in or visiting Guangzhou who is overwhelmed by the sheer scale and pace of the city, I used to love taking a book or my laptop to the Starbucks and just enjoying the peace.

East Meets West In Sea World, Shenzhen
Sea World is a the hub of Shekou in Nanshan, Shenzhen. The area is a hub for food, drink and shopping and draws a lot of expats due to it’s big selection of western food joints. The area is built around a refurbish French cruise ship, built in 1968 - the ship sits in a big body of water that is surrounding by a walkway, gardens and restaurants.
The area is busy over the weekends especially if the weather is good, there are lots of places with outdoor seating and happy hours to help enjoy the weekend. You can get to the area via the Sea World metro stop or by walking along the Shenzhen Bay park as it finishes a the bottom end of Sea world.
Sea world is within walking distance of Nanshan mountain and it’s a great place to relax after hiking the mountain for the views out over Shenzhen bay and Hong Kong.
There are play areas and arcade games for children and also a culture and arts museum opened in partnership with the V&A museum in London.
Overall a great spot to enjoy good food and drinks with your friends in beautiful surroundings, and at 7PM look out for the fountain show in front of the boat which is really impressive set against the surroundings.

We came here with a close Chinese family and we truly enjoyed our stay here. We super liked our hotel room that was very spacious and of course the view that overlooks the ocean and the pool downstairs. Everything in this resort is just fantastic. Nothing but great reviews for this amazing resort. It might not have the greatest sand and bech but the service and the hotel's amenities compensate what's lacking from the beach. They are not 5 star resort/hotel but for me they are! Enjoy your stay!

Lots of cafes and restaurants just like any other mall. I mean, yes, it is just like all the malls out there but Global harbor screams elegance!
