Baths of Caracalla 🏛️
#timetotravel
The Baths of Caracalla in Rome are an awe-inspiring testament to the grandeur of ancient Roman engineering and luxury. As I walked through the colossal ruins of these thermal baths, I was transported to a time of opulence and relaxation.
The sheer scale of the complex is astounding, with massive walls and towering arches that once housed a series of baths, gymnasiums, gardens, and more. Exploring the vast ruins, it's easy to imagine the ancient Romans enjoying leisurely afternoons here.
What truly sets the Baths of Caracalla apart is their historical significance and the sense of walking in the footsteps of emperors and citizens of ancient Rome. The intricate mosaics and frescoes that have survived the centuries are a testament to the artistry of the time.
Visiting this archaeological wonder is a must for history enthusiasts and travelers seeking a glimpse into the lavish lifestyle of ancient Rome. It's a place that leaves you with a deep appreciation for the city's rich past. #italy #rome
Park of the Appian Way 🗺️
#timetotravel
The Park of the Appian Way (Parco della Via Appia Antica) in Rome, Italy, is a serene and historic oasis that offers a delightful escape from the bustling city. As I explored this ancient road, I was immersed in a captivating blend of nature and history.
The cobblestone path, flanked by towering pine trees and ancient ruins, creates a surreal atmosphere. Walking along the same road that ancient Romans used is a mesmerizing experience, and the well-preserved tombs and landmarks along the way offer glimpses into the past.
What truly sets the Park of the Appian Way apart is its tranquility. It's a place where you can escape the city's chaos and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Roman countryside.
This park is a must-visit for history buffs and nature lovers alike, leaving you with a deep appreciation for Rome's rich heritage and natural beauty. #italy #rome
Not to miss whilst in Rome 🇻🇦
Whilst you are in Rome you cannot miss visiting the Vatican city! This includes both the cathedral itself and the Vatican museums (which is where you’ll find the sistine chapel - but note no photos in there!)
They are both very impressive and you will not regret taking your time to soak in the art and atmosphere here. And if you are lucky you might even get to see the pope!

Heading to Rome? 🇮🇹
Welcome to Rome!
I stayed three nights at this hotel and I had a great experience.
Pros:
- The hotel looks like a palace and the property is well maintained and beautiful
- Safety (There’s a security guard at the gate of the property)
- Breakfast (buffet style and it was really good)
- Location (7-8 mins walk from Cornelia subway station )
- Cleanliness
Cons:
- This hotel is located about 30 minutes from downtown (for me it’s fine. I rather have a nicer hotel for cheaper than having an OK one downtown)
Enjoy your stay!

Mouth of truth
Situated in the portico of Santa Maria in Cosmedin Church, the Mouth of Truth (Bocca della Veritá) is a worldwide-famous enormous marble mask said to bite the hand of those who lied
The sculpture was once located in the Piazza della Bocca della Veritá until 1632. It was then transferred to the outside of one of the walls of the nearby Santa María in Cosmedin, the place where it remains today.

Magnificent Colosseum
Located just east of the Roman Forum, the massive stone amphitheater known as the Colosseum was commissioned around A.D. 70-72 by Emperor Vespasian of the Flavian dynasty as a gift to the Roman people. In A.D. 80, Vespasian’s son Titus opened the Colosseum—officially known as the Flavian Amphitheater—with 100 days of games, including gladiatorial combats and wild animal fights.
After four centuries of active use, the magnificent arena fell into neglect, and up until the 18th century it was used as a source of building materials. Though two-thirds of the original Colosseum has been destroyed over time, the amphitheater remains a popular tourist destination, as well as an iconic symbol of Rome and its long, tumultuous history.

Dream-Summer in Rome
Rome is a very unique city, where you can really feel the local history. The preservation of historic buildings is fabulous.
I especially recommend to watch the sunset on top of the building called "Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore". It's in the center of Rome, a big national monument, palace with museum and rooftop with a small bar/restaurant.
🎟️ Palace until the middle floor, Café and museum are for free, rooftop is 16€ per person.

Rome really does have it all 👌🏻
This is by far the most interesting and entertaining city I have ever visited. There is something to be seen on every corner,it feels impossible to see it all. It’s the kind of place that you never want to leave and once you have been I am sure you will return. Rome will leave you hungry for more, more food, more drinks with views that can’t be described, more history, more culture and the people are genuine. There was never a dull moment and it really feels like there is not enough hours in the day. Enjoy your time in Rome , take it all in because there is no other place on earth like it ❤️#couplestrip #deliciousfood #rome

Rome is where the heart is
My trip to Rome was a breathtaking experience. The Colosseum stood majestically, a symbol of ancient grandeur. Walking through its arches brought history to life. The Vatican, with its stunning art and architecture, left me in awe. The Sistine Chapel's ceiling was a masterpiece. Rome's rich history, mouthwatering cuisine, and vibrant atmosphere made it a truly unforgettable destination.

All Roads Lead to Rome
All roads must lead to Rome because it always seems flooded with tourists, but it should be no surprise that so many want to visit Rome given the layers upon layers of history everywhere you go in the city. The Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and so much more. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes because you will be hiking a lot (Rome is hillier than I expected) - public transit tends to be very crowded, and there’s lots of traffic, but I did use buses and trains frequently as well.

Sunny Winter @ Piazza Navona 🌞 ❄️
#wecreate
Built in 86BC by Emperor Domitian Piazza Navona@Navona Square is one of the picturesque spot you shouldn’t miss when you’re visiting Rome. You’re free to roam around the square and depending on the season/ holiday, there will be small market and carnival. There is 3 artistic fountains and museum in the square
If you’re thinking to walk directly to the other attraction in Rome by walk:
Pantheon - 5 minutes
Castel Sant’Angelo - 10 minutes
Trevi Fountain - 12 minutes
Vatican City - 17 minutes
The weather is really pleasant and I’ve walked all the way from Roma Termini till Vatican City (I’m not athletic by the way) because I do enjoy the walk and what the city have to offer. Its also safe to walk even as a solo female traveller. Just be aware of your surroundings and not to worry, there is also lot of tourists roaming around.
Tips: Make sure to check ahead if there’s holiday or festive season before going, if you want to visit the museums. But if you prefer less crowd and just want to roam around in the city then its perfect time to visit.

🥰 Colosseum 🥰
One of the important sights to visit in Rome. It’s impressive, gigantic and spectacular.
Despite its age, it is the largest standing amphitheatre in the world, and this historical architecture is always busy and it is a definite stop in Rome 🥰🥰

Why do I love Italy?🇮🇹
1. The food.
Italy knows how to make good food! Pizza, pasta, gelato, pastries - you will find the most incredible food here!
2. The culture.
It is imbedded in Italian culture to be laid back & relaxed. Back home in Britain, people are always rushing & stressed - Italians seem less anxious than us Brits!
3. The scenery & rich culture.
The architecture in Italy is so aesthetic & beautiful. There are so many museums and galleries to see that can be so enlightening!

Italian Gelato At Giolitti Italty
When in Rome, do what the romans do and that's what I did exactly when I saw a long queue of tourists and local queueing for yummy Italian gelatos at Giolitti Italy, Rome. This Gelateria is so beautifully decked in an ancient Italian/old English design, you can't help but be amazed by the shop's interior. You will be even more amazed by the long display of endless flavours of gelatos available there. The most famous flavours would be their pistachio, hazelnut, stracciatella, amaretto, etc. Even I can't help but to order 3 scoops of their gelatos and it was the best I ever had! The gelato flavours were rich, smooth and super yummy! Inside the shop, other Italian sweet treats and pastries are sold and a coffee bar is there for you to order a cuppa to go away with these treats. Do pop by Giolitti when you're in Rome, Italy!

Where to eat in Rome😉
As you know, Rome is famous for pasta, pizza, panini ice cream and coffee (espresso and cappuccino)😍
Who can resist?? Before I went to Rome, I have done a research for restaurants where local people are used to visiting.
My tip is to try to find shops and restaurants where are traditional and full of local people.
Let’s start!!🤤
1. One of the most delicious ice creams in Rome!!
The Venchi ice cream! 😍 You can find it in many spots in Rome, but this chocolate waterfall is near the Fontana Di Trevi!!
I couldn’t believe that I saw waterfall! It is incredible🤎
More information about the ice cream shop:
- The 1 ball of ice cream costs ~ 2,50€
- You can find various types of chocolates
- You can try various of ice cream flavours 😍
- The status is very helpful and kind. Always with a smile in their faces😍
Don’t miss the chance to visit it!!
2. Best pizza in town! Let me introduce you the Pizza Florida Roma for a crunchy pizza 😍 It is so delicious!! I have been to Rome 4 days and I was eating pizza for 3 days🤤 (the prices are very friendly). You can find various of pizza flavours! One of my favourites was Pizza Margarita. So simply but so delicious at the same time!
3. Do not forget to try Panini or Italian sandwich! I found the Bottega Nostrana. So many paninies and so many flavours!! And guess what!! You are able to try sweet panini too!! It is perfect for the sweet lovers, like me😍
4. One more ice cream shop is Gelateria La Romana. You can try their ice cream and coffee too!! As you know, Italian are used to drinking espresso and cappuccino 😉
5. If you need a morning coffee and snack, I get you! Sciascia Cafè 1919. Maybe one of the oldest cafes in Rome! I love it for the traditional decoration and for the coffee there! 😍
6. The best for the end!!! You have to visit Trastevere village in Rome. It is a graphic place with a large number of restaurants and local shops. One of the restaurants I visited was Tonarello!! You need to go early due to the fact that there is quite a long waiting queue!! It is worth it and you will not wait for long😉 We tried pizza for sure, pasta and supplì with rice, potatoe and tomato.
Have fun and Bon Appetite 😍

the Magic and Reality of the Trevi Fountain
The Trevi Fountain. 💙 This was my first time visiting and I was in awe! What a beautiful absolutely magical place! Located in Rome, Italy, it is one of the most famous and iconic fountains in the world. ⛲️
It is featured in many movies and photos, and is often depicted as a serene (exhibit A - the photo which I have shared with you) and romantic spot where visitors can throw coins into the fountain.
The reality of visiting the Trevi Fountain is a little different. Friends had told me it’s SOOO busy. While I thought I was prepared, I could never have imagined just how BUSY it gets. The crowds there were more than I expected. But, then again I can totally understand why.
What to expect: The fountain may be crowded with tourists, busy and noisy, difficult to get a photo with a clear view of the Trevi and can have quite a bit of litter around.
Managing expectations: be prepared for the crowds and hustle and bustle that come with this magical location. The Trevi Fountain remains a must-see place! 🤩🫶🏼The beauty and history of the fountain make it worth the visit. If you want to see it when it’s a little less crowded, try to visit early in the morning or later in the evening when there may be less people around.
Photo tip: work those angles. There were at least another 50 people if not more around when I was taking this photo!

Roma caput mundi- the eternal city
Getting There - if you’re coming from abroad, definitely plane. But if you’re already in Italy, take the high speed train, it’s usually not very expensive and it arrives in Roma Termini in the city center.
Attractions - There’s so many things to see in Rome. The Colosseum, the Roman Forums (more than one), the Campidoglio, Castel S.Angelo, Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, San Pietro, etc etc. Buy a guide or research online. Prioritise what you like and save the rest for the next trip.
Hotels - if you’re 4 or more, an apartment would be cheaper. If you’re looking for an hotel, don’t stay near Termini as it’s not too safe the night. Between Piazza di Spagna and Barberini it’s ok, you will be near the metro and restaurants.
Food & Restaurants - Try everything but mainly look for places that usually serve locals.
When in Rome, you should go at least once to the Roman Ghetto to try the Roman Jewish cuisine (the community has been in Rome for more then 2000 years)
Shopping - via del corso & via del babbuino will have all the shops your heart might desire.

Grand Colosseum Rome
#rome has many amazing historic wonders and Colosseum in the city is the grandest and biggest of them all. Constructed almost 2000 years ago by Roman emperors, it was the location of many grand fighting events between gladiators, man and animals.
The Colosseum is highly accessible as there is a metro station very near the area. Make sure to visit all three levels of the Colosseum as it will give different views of the entire arena. The basement area is a highlight as the tiny corridors and rooms were the places where men waited for their glory. #history #awesomepic #couplestrip #summervacation
Art in Rome - Elizabeth Unique Hotel 🛋️🖼️
🛋️ Elizabeth Unique Hotel Rome is a precious residence where ancient stories interlace with modern ones, hospitality is a generous and genuine embrace, and wishes are fulfilled before being expressed.
🛎️ The hotel’s cosmopolitan and never conventional atmosphere seems to evoke memories of the first modern explorers, scions of European aristocrats, who during their ‘grand tours’ came down to Rome and were especially charmed by centuries of history, art and culture.
With the same intensity and refinement, in Palazzo Pulieri Ginetti, just a few minutes from the Spanish Steps and Piazza del Popolo, right in the heart of the city, travel is celebrated as an unprecedented versatile experience, unique by vocation.

When in… Rome
Most memorable moment: Returning to Piccadilly Roma after the Roma vs Geneva football game. We hadn’t booked a room for the night nor anticipated the amazing city becoming 99% booked upon our return. Just when we thought we were going to have to drive a minimum of 45 minutes to find a place to stay, the owner of Piccadilly Roma gave us the most pleasant surprise. He offered us two affordable rooms remaining at his hotel barely two blocks away. He didn’t stop there though. He offered to walk us to the hotel to be sure we would be satisfied and sold us a bottle of incredible red wine from his restaurant, which he opened for us to enjoy in our rooms as the restaurant was closing. Not only was the owner one of the most kind and generous individuals we have met, the burrata at Piccadilly is still one of the best I’ve had to this day.

Delicious and Cheap Kebab in Italy
Kebab is one of the best street foods in Italy especially if you are rushing. This tiny restaurant is located near the Rome Terminal. I passed by the shop, and it smells heavenly, couldn’t resist to buy one. The owner sliced the barbecued meat, topped with some sauce, and made a wrap. It tasted really good and cheap. A chicken kebab costs only Euro 3.50. Other than Kebab, they also serve Tandoori Chicken, I didn’t expect to eat like home country in Europe.
