Lavender farm Tours 179$
Tasmania is an island state in Australia. The lavender farm here is called Bridestowe lavender field, located about 50 km from Lauceston city, northeast of Tasmania.
Surprisingly beautiful lavender fields in Tasmania - Australia
The history of Bridestowe lavender field began when Mr. C.K Denny - a famous British perfume maker and his family moved to Lilydale, Tasmania - a place about 17 km from the current flower field. As a perfume manufacturer, Mr. Denny had long cherished the plan to turn this place into a flower field like in the French Alps and they set out to do it. The name of the flower field is Bridestowe after Mrs. Denny's hometown in England.
Mr. and Mrs. Denny's flower fields have soil and conditions similar to those in France. At that time, the lavender oil and perfume manufacturing industry was developing, demand was extremely high while raw materials were limited. In 1924, after successfully harvesting and distilling the first batch of lavender oil, Mr. Denny sent samples to London for testing. The results show that the quality of lavender essential oil in Tasmania is not inferior to the quality of essential oil in France. His family continued farming and in 1947 expanded lavender cultivation on a large scale.
In 1989, when Mr. Denny retired and the lavender field was sold to the Ravens family with a commitment to maintain the product and quality of lavender as under the Denny family's management. Therefore, up to now, Bridestowe lavender field has existed for more than 90 years.
Coming to Tasmania, there are not only giant lavender fields but also other interesting places such as: The Hartz Mountains national park with incredible alpine moors; Tasman Peninsula - witness of the colonial period of Australian history or Ben Lomond and Mount Mawson national parks. Wild nature and breathtaking landscapes will certainly make visitors love the beautiful Australian island of Tasmania.

Tassie is also all about Yumilicious Food!
Who says tasmania is all about view, nature, hikes and outdoors?
Tasmania is also a country with amazing culinary food at almost every corner. Blur Eye Seafood Restaurant located at 1 Castray Esplanade, battery point TAS 7004 is not to be missed if you are looking for something in-between of fine dining and causal dining located right by the waterfront and a short walk from the ever popular salamanca market.
They are open every day except on Sunday and open on Monday from 5pm, but do recommend to make a booking before heading down to the restaurant as surprisingly this is very popular among locals. I believe this is due to the freshness of the seafood and the beautifully shucked oysters. Don't be taken back at their pricing, agreed that this is abit on the high side but this is definitely a bucketlist to try when in hobart for a great seafood meal.

Shark meat used in Fish and Chips??!
Fish and chips all day err day in Hobart, Tasmania
Location: Sullivans Cove, Elizabeth Street Pier, Hobart TAS 7000, Australia
Had the most unforgettable fish and chips at Fish Frenzy in Hobart. I'm still dreaming about it weeks later!
The F&Cs were so special in so many ways! For starters, the meal was served in a giant cone, bigger than the plate itself. The meat was from flake fish, which is a baby shark (who knew that baby shark was more than just a song?!). It was chunky and firm yet tender at the same time. I could taste the sweetness of the fish in every bite. The fish was well coated in a light and crispy batter, which went really well with vinegar. I've never had something like this before!
Fish Frenzy is located right at the wharf. The best seats in the house are those facing the boats docked at the marina. It is the perfect spot for some fresh air and an open view of the marina.
