#hotelstaycation The hotel is convenienly located near the airport, about 8-10 min by taxi and is super easy to reach the city center by bus or taxi. The hotel itself looks pretty good, fairly new. The room was spacious and the bed was confortable. It is up to Novotel standard. I did not like the bathroom which was small and “cheap”. Plastic everywhere. Breakfast was good, Novotel standard. I strolled around the city for two days visiting the home of the United Nations, the Flower Clock, the Reformation Wall, and CERN. Jet D'Eau is probably the most famous and visited place in the city of Geneva. Getting there is pretty easy as it is located in downtown and all drivers know where is located or you can stay in nearby hotels. The whole visit, including walking around and taking pictures should last between 2 to 3 hours. Lake’s water is very beautiful, there are some colorfoul flowers around to decorate the lake. If you are lucky you will be able to see some swans around. If you walk around you might find the perfect angle to see the rainbow around the jet of water. The jet is powerful and the water can reach a height up to 140 metres! Geneva's Old Town (Vieille Ville in French) is an interesting walk. You will see of small streets and picturesque squares, filled with cafés, restaurants, galleries, museums and historical sights. Enjoy the historical buildings such as St. Peter's Cathedral, or the Old Arsenal located in front, Place du Bourg-de-Four. Even though is better to visit this place in summer time, it could be also enjoyable to see the old town in winter time as there is plenty of Christmas decoration. The Palais des Nations is a place that you can’t miss if you are in the city of Geneva. The are tour available around the United Nations office where you get to know some of the art work, and the history of the art pieces donated. The recommended sightseen time if you are not taking the tour is half an hour or maximum one hour. The Palais des Nations is now the United Nations Office in Geneva. There are many flags of various countries at the entrance. All the flags flying on flagpoles represent the international peace in the world. Switzerland has always been my dream place to go. I used to plan on getting my hospitality university degree here but it never come into reality. Although I have search so much information on the university and learn French, I never touch this place until when I decided to go over for holiday. This sum up of my trip to Geneva. The place is so beautiful, lake is green in colour and have swan on it. Just by seeing and capturing the building pictures is already satisfying. I really love the city. Chocolates are everywhere. Just be careful with the scammers. There was this 2 ladies who keep on following to let me sign their donation list. It seems they’re trying to fool me that they can’t speak English. They said that most of the tourist would donate for the homeless children while showing that some donated 80, 20,50 etc. When I declined, they tried to block my way. I just said “I don’t have money okay? !!”Then they sat on the chair where I left my jacket and bags. I was busy taking a self timer pics when I notice them again trying to scan my things. I just grab it forcefully and told them that these are my things then I walked away. The funny thing is they reacted as if I stole something from them Lol. #geneva #switzerland #scammers
