🍭York, England 🌸🍁🍂 . Autumn in York is always amazing 😍 We decided to return to England, and my favorite part of this trip has to be York. It's a small city with so much charm, no matter where you look. The people are so friendly, you smile and enjoy the cool weather. It's truly a treat. . York is adorable from every angle, and the bakery is incredibly well-priced. We walked around Shambles Market, where there are so many cute shops. We also had the opportunity to go on a free walking tour with AVG. A friend at the hostel recommended it, and it was free. The walk took about two hours. The guide was very nice, a kind uncle, and he explained things in a way that was easy to understand, without much of an accent. Next time I go, I'll definitely join him again. The more I learn about the history, the more enjoyable it is. If you want a link to the walking tour, feel free to ask. . It wouldn't be right not to mention the pubs. They're absolutely amazing. They start in the morning. It's another city I've been to, and I'll definitely come back. I stayed at Safestay York Micklegate. They have a safe female dorm, but there's no elevator. York Minster & The Shambles Address – York Minster, Deangate, York YO1 7HH, England Highlights – We started at the awe-inspiring York Minster, one of the most impressive cathedrals we’ve ever seen. The stained glass alone could hold your attention for hours especially the Great East Window, the largest medieval stained glass in the world. We climbed the central tower (narrow, steep, totally worth it) for sweeping views of the rooftops and surrounding countryside. Just nearby, The Shambles felt like walking through a storybook crooked timber-framed buildings, overhanging upper floors, and tiny shops tucked into every corner. Rating – 9.5/10 York City Walls Address – Access points around the city; walk is circular Highlights – The medieval city walls offered a fantastic way to see York from above. The full circuit took a couple of hours, with views of hidden gardens, historic gatehouses, and quiet neighborhoods. Sections near Micklegate Bar and Bootham Bar were especially atmospheric. There’s a timeless feeling here like the past and present are quietly walking alongside you. Rating – 9/10 JORVIK Viking Centre & Clifford’s Tower Address – JORVIK: Coppergate Centre, YO1 9WT | Clifford’s Tower: Tower St, YO1 9SA Highlights – The JORVIK Viking Centre was a fun surprise more immersive than expected, with a ride through a recreated Viking village complete with sights, sounds, and smells. It’s touristy, sure, but also well done and rooted in real archaeology. Afterward, we climbed Clifford’s Tower, the stone keep on a grassy mound overlooking the city. Windy at the top, but the 360° view was fantastic. Rating – 8.5/10

#northerneurope Value. The Merchant Adventurers Hall has to be a must-see location for York. From the condition of the building, to the layout of what you see to the shop. I highly recommend the food in the cafe and suggest you plan on eating there after visiting. Only small downside was the massive old kitchen fireplace upstairs has been mostly covered over with silverware displays, which is a bit of a shame, it would’ve been great to see it in all its glory. Still, the building itself and the history behind it are more than worth the visit #york

#northerneurope The Shambles is a historical street in York. Many shops cafes and pubs around. Its a medieval cobbled street with timber framed buildings featuring preserved medieval buildings. Some of them are dating back as far as the 14th century. A fantastic and historic shopping street. The street is filled with iconic shops relating to British tourism and culture. An amazing variety of shops selling loads of weird and wonderful things. Hand cratfed jewellery signs. just about anything you can tbink. Loads of cafes and pop up shops. #york
