🇮🇳 My Medical Journey to CMC Vellore – A Complete Guide for Bangladeshi Patients I traveled from Bangladesh to CMC Vellore with my daughter for her medical treatment. Since many Bangladeshi families visit CMC every year, I wanted to share my personal experience. I hope this guide will help anyone planning a medical trip to Vellore. ✈️ Journey to Vellore We landed at Chennai International Airport and traveled to Vellore by an air-conditioned taxi, which cost ₹2,200. The journey took around 3–4 hours, depending on traffic. I arranged the taxi through Khan Travels, and the owner, Mr. Tanzim, was extremely helpful throughout our stay. Whenever we needed transportation or local assistance, he was always available and made our trip much easier. 🏥 Treatment at CMC Vellore CMC Vellore is one of India's most respected hospitals, and the quality of medical care truly impressed us. The doctors are highly experienced, professional, and genuinely caring. They carefully explain the treatment plan and treat every patient with patience and respect. However, CMC receives an enormous number of patients every day, so it's important to plan your trip with enough time. Registration, diagnostic tests, consultations, and follow-up appointments may take several days. One thing that made us feel comfortable was the large Bangladeshi community at CMC. There are so many Bangladeshi patients and attendants that we hardly felt like we were in a foreign country. Language was never a major issue. The doctors and hospital staff are very friendly and cooperative. If needed, you can hire a translator through the hospital. Even basic English or Hindi is enough for most situations. Interestingly, many doctors and staff have learned some Bengali after treating Bangladeshi patients for many years, making communication even easier. 🏨 Accommodation We stayed at Sunrise Residency, located very close to CMC Vellore. Our air-conditioned room cost ₹1,300 per night. The biggest advantage was the attached kitchen. Since we stayed for several days, we cooked most of our meals ourselves, which helped us save money and made us feel more at home. The hotel was clean, quiet, family-friendly, and the staff were polite and helpful. 🍽️ Food Although we cooked most of our meals, we also explored several local restaurants. One of our favorite places was Zaitoon Restaurant, where we enjoyed delicious food and excellent service. Another unforgettable experience was Vellore's famous tea. The tea was rich, fresh, and full of flavor. In the evenings, don't miss the famous Chicken 65 Fry sold at many roadside shops. It is crispy, spicy, and incredibly delicious. Even after returning home, we still remember its amazing taste. We also found fresh tender coconuts almost everywhere in Vellore. They were refreshing, affordable, and perfect during the hot weather. Fresh cow's milk is also widely available and of excellent quality. Since we had a kitchen, we regularly bought fresh milk for tea and homemade meals. 🛍️ Shopping For our daily needs, we mostly shopped at DMart, where we found groceries, household items, snacks, and other essentials at reasonable prices. We also ordered several items online through Flipkart. The delivery service was reliable and convenient, especially for longer stays. 💱 Currency Exchange There are many money exchange shops around Vellore. I recommend comparing exchange rates before exchanging your currency. Most of the time, I exchanged money at Khan Travels, where I received good service and competitive exchange rates. 💡 Tips for Bangladeshi Patients Book your CMC appointment before traveling. Carry all previous medical reports, prescriptions, passports, and visa documents. Keep both printed and digital copies of important documents. Plan your stay with extra days because treatment and investigations may take time. Stay close to the hospital if multiple visits are required. If you prefer home-cooked meals, choose accommodation with an attached kitchen. Compare exchange rates before changing money. Don't worry too much about the language—communication is generally easy. ⭐ Final Thoughts Our medical journey to CMC Vellore was one of the most important trips of our lives. The hospital's excellent medical care, compassionate doctors, organized system, and supportive environment gave us confidence throughout the treatment process. Apart from the hospital, we also enjoyed the peaceful environment of Vellore, delicious local food, fresh tender coconuts, flavorful tea, and the convenience of shopping at DMart and Flipkart. We had a fantastic day exploring the Amirthi Zoological Park, located near Vellore. This zoo is a hidden gem, known for its mix of wildlife viewing and stunning natural reserve forest scenery ✨ TRIP HIGHLIGHTS: · 🦌Meeting the Deers: We got to see beautiful spotted deer in their enclosures. The bucks with their majestic antlers were truly impressive. · 🐦Bird Viewing: It was great to spot diferent bird species, including a lovely White Peacock and a traditional Indian Peacock, enjoying their space. · 📑 Information Boards: The Z00 provides informative boards in both Tamil and English which tell you about the animals like the Pariah Kite, which is a species found across India and Asia. This was very educational for the kids! · LUSH ENVIRONMENT: The park is surrounded by dense greenery and trees, offering a refreshing and shaded walk.
